And they had to take Jesse, Don Eladio ordered them to bring him there.

Gustavo sitting in silence completely motionless to lower his heart rate and prevent the poison from rapidly spreading through his system. When he stands up he speaks softly and moves very slowly. It's a small detail but a cogent one. Very well written show.

I love how meticulously and calmly he folds his jacket, placed the towel in the ground to protect his pants from the floor, purged his body of (most of) the poison, and then cleans himself up and returns to his battlefield after he layed waste to it, to lord over his enemies in their moment of absolute defeat.
No? Gus goes to kill Hector just before the nursing home bombing takes out the two of them along with Tyrus. They make it very clear Gus had a quick and reliable method to eliminate the Salamancas, in this case with the syringe filled with whatever that would have killed him, but the whole point is to highlight how Gus was keeping Hector alive past the point of self-preservation because he was too focused on exacting things his way. Giving Hector a swift exit wasn’t personally satisfying enough for him to do, even though it would have meant that he took out his greatest enemy and Hector wouldn’t have been liability anymore who could have and did conspire with Walt to kill Gus. If you’ve just watched the show or are currently watching it for the first time then I’m not trying to give you too much hell for not getting it, but it’s weird to see people in agreement with your comment, unless they also didn’t really watch the show all the way through or paid attention. The series is pretty consistent about showing where big characters have outs, buyouts, ex-partners offering to pay for cancer treatments/better job offer, Gus having the option to work with Gale’s with and not Walter’s from the beginning to keep things predictable, it’s all there and part of the greatness of the show to highlight how these characters aren’t always in a be-all end-all situation, they have moments where they can either tap out from their life of crime or have things be resolved at a compromise to what they were originally after, and not taking those chances represents most of their regretful fates.

The reasons to retaliate are there but they are petty which is why retribution acts are seen as petty.

The background music is so underrated, and like everything in the BrBa universe, it really builds the crescendo up and beautifully reflects the tension. Absolutely chilling.
