    Great summary video. A couple of clarifications:
    1. Spouses do not get a 3 year work permit after completion of the MBA program. The spouse gets a work permit only while the student remain in school.
    The spouse usually has enough Canadian experience by the end of their work permit to apply for their own.
    2. The median salary is a bit lower at around 85000 CAD, which is a more accurate reflection than mean.

    I appreciate what your guys are doing at MBA Crystal Ball, but The video, although it presents concise information and details found on the school's website and the internet, it still provides very little details about the International students' experience. Maybe you guys can interview people and alumni and get some useful stats. Like how many international students get hired after graduation. As you mentioned, the appeal of a Canadian MBA is the ability to get a 3-year work permit. But the percentage of recruitment might be useful as well. Do consulting companies hire more international students than the finance sector...things of this nature. and if so what are the salaries? International students are allowed to work in Canada, but what kind of jobs and when? does the schedule allow for work? All information that could be very useful, then you can truly earn the '' Crystal Ball '' name.

    • @MBACrystalBall
      @MBACrystalBall  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback. We do share student experiences on our blog, including some not-so-pleasant ones. But when it comes to our videos, we think it wouldn't be appropriate to use opinions and personal views of student and alumni on placement stats, when the official site doesn't corroborate the same. So we've stuck to what's official validated and can be referenced. Do continue to share your views on how we can get better.

      Hi Jay, fall '21 will be too early to target. All good bschools will expect for 3-4 years experience at the time of application. Many MBA grads get into the Pharma sector after graduating but it would be unusual to find Pharma focused MBA programs in the top league. Check out our video on how specialisations work in international universities. Here are some tips on building your profile: th-cam.com/video/EpowVNJaXFc/w-d-xo.html

      Those parameters don't give a complete picture of a candidate's profile. There are several other factors that matter, such as your ability to package and present your story in the best possible manner. Don't get too stressed about getting an answer to the 'what are my chances' question. Make sure you package all that's needed in a strong application, and let the adcoms decide the rest.

      They do accept applicants without work experience, however considering their average experience in the class, you'll realise that it is not the norm. And that's for a reason. Going in with no exposure to the working world will make you a misfit in the class and you won't be able to get out the maximum value from such a big investment.

    Any comments on this guy's content? I've read the "Canadian economy and MBA jobs in it - 98% MBA grads in SMEs" article on MCB. Almost all sorts of "MBA opportunities" seem to be concentrated within Canada's southern neighbor. Rotman without scholarship and/or PR status is a bad idea in my opinion.
    Coming to Canada, are those 1-2 year PG diplomas/graduate certificates worth it(just for PGWP and PR points under Canadian education)? Of course, they have zero value outside the country, I'm talking about Canadian employment after completing them. Public colleges like George Brown, Seneca, Humber, Centennial offer them...

    • @MBACrystalBall
      @MBACrystalBall  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sandeep, you always have the most interesting perspectives and queries. Thanks for posting them and triggering some good discussions.
      Yes, in our MBA in Canada video we've also highlighted the point you made, about the Canadian economy being dominated by SMEs. And the fact that USA offers far more MBA opportunities than Canada or any other country.
      Coming to the guy in the video you shared, he does make valid points related to whether the program is right, and whether the RoI is justified.
      In contrast to his (rather extreme) view of making it wrong choice for everyone, our stand is a little more moderate. We think the candidate is in a better position to make those decisions rather than getting swayed by a universal truth that works for everyone.
      We've seen happy and unhappy MBA students in the best programs, as well as the not-so-good ones. Bottomline is - figure out a list of priorities for yourself and then judge the options by that personalised yardstick.

      We're not familiar with those, so no idea about how valuable they will be. But as a general rule, we think it makes sense to pursue any certification or degree if the course content will really add value to the career, and not just looking at them as a stepping stone to fulfill some other criteria (like PR points).
