I like to PvP, and PvE on ARK Ascended. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, sometimes for 100 days. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it switch, xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, steam, epic, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, usually covering all maps from Island to Fjordur. And one day. ARK 2!

I came here after running into these in the wild, my basilosaurus can tank alpha mosa, swarms if megalodons, hordes of eels and countless else....... but came across just 3 of these in the wild...... they did more damage to it than all others combined, still won..... but WOW. Don't know how I'm going to tame without tek, may have to get myself a squid...... but I'll find a way, as these will be my new base guards XD megalodon, you've had your day..... its now the giant pirahnas turn XD

23:47 JESUS, I never saw an Alpha Mosa dying that quickly lmao, Xipha is truly deserving the name of Monster Fish
If you use the lvl limitation in the dino finder and type in 100 - 150 it will show dinos it normally won't , because it will only show the dinos near by you if it 's 1-150 and not the high lvls on the Map. :)
I remember watching one of Syntac’s cluster videos where he tamed two high level deep water x-fish (I think they’re the ones with the glowing body) and breed the heck out of them to get the perfect pair. After that he brought the entire army to the Mooder boss fight in genesis and completely rinsed her on all three boss level difficulty. So I guess with a well bred x-fish you’ll most likely be untouchable in the water
The variant you are talking about is called the abyssal x-fish saw one last night I tried to tame it unfortunately though it got bullied by various megas and mantas

This thing would be amazing for gen 1 bog - that's if they still classed the bog as in the water constantly (pretty sure so spinos constantly had their hydration buff)

For raas and everyone else if u use a teksuit underwater put on scuba flippers. It will make u move 3x faster
And get 1000 oxygen, adds some speed too.

Welp time to tame, breed, and mutate an army of these things to do the underwater caves easily.
Like I said before, Xiphincters tend to aggro the entire ocean and the entire ocean wants to kill them... making taming a nightmare if the area isn't cleared out 😅

I think we need an ark dlc that primarly focuses on being under water to shake things up a bit, with cool new underwater creatures, sort of like aberration with the underground thing

It's boss killer kind of fish
With Argy style rapid-healing and stam-regen when the blood frenzy buff is active. They're hella nutty beasties.

The modded version of these were boss and in the base they are no different it seems! Been a hot minute since weve seen the island base and its still glorious!
Just like they said when a fish climb a waterfall it will be a dragon except this one when it climb on land it became a dragon killer.
I had a 124 saddle on my tuso and it had 51k health and 1.5k mele….
A group of them swarmed my tuso in hard underwater cave and my tuso’s health was quickly melted down to halfway. Right after that it spontaneously died and I died a millisecond after.
So yes… they’re very op

3 of my 60k health Basilosaurus got destroyed by a swarm of xiphactinus in the cavern of lost hope. The basi had over 4k mele each
That alpha mosa got vaporized lol. Ive had half hour fights with them on basi 🤣
I have never understood why the eels, and mantas are so aggressive in the ocean and i wonder if the game has or going to have the other variant the deep sea version i love those so much since anglers are so lacking but i love the idea of seeing the moving light in the dark depths and it being a risk.

As amazing as this is, it also shows how overpowered the Xipha's are. Don't get me wrong, its insane but in a fun way, super overpowered and should probably be nerfed. Also, I can't get past the thought that fish don't belong on land lol
Also, I've noticed on ASE that dinos seem to be running away long before there torpor is high. Like what happened with the Xipha to you, been happening with Rex's, Sabertooths and Raptors. It's almost like they run away to lure you in, and then turn back around. a new mechanic? Seems most dinos now do that.
Its deffo new.. Or... They started messing with it before ASA was released..
But I think they messed even more with it last time they dropped a post-ASA launch update to ASE..
My bet is they were testing some ai Mechanics on ASE.. Thats why trapping a Carcha dont work anymore..
Its been a while where creatures would run away/loose interest if unable to reach you, but its deffo gotten worse recently..
I just transferred to SE on my SP cluster for the first time, and brought R-Snow Owls with me.. If I attack creatures like Terrorbirds, Sabers and Daeodons without landing, they run away, even if I'm at ground..
Pretty sure there's no plans on these modded dinos getting any sort of nerf, they have said they may only change the appearance of the creatures when they are announced.
The nightmare fish might be balanced in the next update or two

Even when you know for a fact that there's nothing around you, you look awy for one second and five megs just appear from out of nowhere, this is why I stay out of ARK's oceans, it's pretty clear that we're not welcome there.

Surprised you just don’t use super cryo storage mod. The terminals are awesome for breeding due to being able to incubate, and auto trap babies. At this point it should just be part of the game seeing it’s available to everyone and greatly helps out people playing single player.automated ark should be part of the game also. You still have the grinding but being able to save hrs of sorting inventory is just so convenient.
Do it again but without them jumping out of the water into land because that cause them to start losing health but if you don’t magikarp doesn’t lose health and you won’t need beacon to heal

I'm a bit confused on how to get this to work in a boss fight. When on land i cannot get the XIphactinus to use its gnashing bite, just the standard. So is all this damage coming from just the pack boost? Or do unridden ones inflict it even on land?
