He also said that if Dreamcatcher failed as well, he would start a cucumber farm to support the girls. Show me one other company where this would be said. You'll be hard pressed to find one.

Dreamcatcher was given a chance to win a music show during Boca's comeback. Dreamcatcher's performance was overwhelming and there was no competitor. However, the music show was canceled due to a Covid-19. Dreamcatcher had no luck.
The Show is dead to me and I just can't watch it whenever Dreamcatcher have to perform there. Luckily for them, their large international fanbase have made them immune to the Korean Kpop industry's attempts to sabotage them. We are the ones who buy their albums, merch, online concert tickets and stream their music on YT, iTunes, Spotify and Bugs. All those things put money in their pockets and that is the best way to support them. I love their Korean fans but there just aren't enough of them. If it wasn't for international fans they would have suffered the same fate as Minx a couple of years ago.
This is by far the best video for DC history as a unit. Truly makes you appreciate their effort and commitment. Till now, no wins.. but, for positive thinking, DC fandom and sales have always increase in number EVERY Comeback. That itself proves a lot. DC are still winners to me every CB

Seeing how much bigger Dreamcatcher have gotten with the Dystopia Series makes me so happy. I like to think their growing sales is a slap to the face to SBS. Even more so since in the last year they've been getting some real recognition in Korea now which is a huge step. So proud of these girls.
This video by mera definitely made me Stan and appreciate the girls more, the struggles they went through as an unconventional group, we insomnia are proud of them. 2020 was the best, like their sales were doubled since scream to boca to odd eye. Currently their albums are on the top list among other big 3 groups. So regarding sales, we have no problem, our only goal now is the win .
To this day, DC still don’t get invited to award shows or many variety shows. I’m totally convinced the kpop industry has been targeting DC, and there’s far more that the girls have gone through that the doc doesn’t talk about. That’s why I respect HF/DCC so much for not giving up on DC and are continuing to take the long road to success versus selling out and reverting DC into to the status quo for fame.
They already sells 250k albums in 2021 alone im really happy they are making money Gfriend only surpass 100k mark after their disbandment. Dreamcatcher have lots of brand and insomnias are really happy from the growth.
i get angry everytime i watch that video, i want to avoid it at all cost, it destroys my mood. but it's part of being an insomnia, to suffer the injustice. that's why we are working so hard to get them their win even though everytime DC has a comeback, all odds are standing against them, every bloody time. I was there voting for the first time during Deja Vu era. Now this is just my personal opinion. I believe the other group bought their first win at Dreamcatcher's expense. A win for artists give them an 'elevated' status and opens up opportunities. It's probably not a coincidence that said group has a member that went onto host The Show. Me personally I cannot support said group. From that point Dreamcatcher became the only kpop artist I've bought music for
Sad thing is Dreamcatcher is still clinging on to power of comebacks for Fame, though Dreamcatcher mind and song covers show their activity but they are invisible to non fans. Most of these shows does not even allow people from outside Korea to vote for their fav bands which sucks
And we had a big chance with Odd Eye this year too but The sh*t suddenly changed the voting category and international somnias (biggest part of the fanbase, coundn't vote, they limited to local voting). Also happened with BEcause when the girls had the biggest chance, the first week they just don't oppened the pre-voting on friday (wich was in their schedule of the last week of july btw...). I'm tired of these music shows but I will make anything to give Dreamcatcher their first win, they deserve it.

Dreamcatcher Company is very good to our girls, we appreciate them so much, they did and do everything they can for the girls to shine. We still didn't manage to get their very deserved first win and this is so frustrating, we do everything we can every comeback, but there is always something new in the music shows voting processes when they do a comeback that harm our efforts, believe me. Even so, we are not done and the girls will get their win soon.
If I remember correctly the numbers assumed by the people mentioned in this video had an error in counting the youtube views from the wrong start day (i.e mon-sun instead of sun-sat), and the actual numbers matched the end results that were shown much closer. That still does of course not mean that a 0 in "expert" preference for one group is in anyway justified or that no numbers were fudged, but it means there was no negative points nonsense like it was assumed. Nonetheless still a great reaction, and a great video that I would recommend to any fellow insomnia. (: PS: when do we get more "this is..."? :D
FYI, that same music show keep doing shady during the girls' promotion on Odd Eye. They changed the rule how the voting work and then changed it back when the girls' done promoting. Tbh after watching that dodging disbandment video I thought "well it was a mistake, I hope they won't do it again and I believe they won't". After that fact, I already don't care about a win a music show. The girls' not competing against other groups but they're against the industry. Sometimes actual arts will lose against popularity. . Also in Korea girlgroups in general are still underrated than boygroups. That video showing Dreamcatcher against BTS.. but during BEcause they were against Astro and lost far behind, when yeah actually I understand win and lose are possible but not that far. A couple of things not included in the video. I don't remember where I read these, so take it with a grain of salt. okay here goes a long ass comment lol about mixnine thing, it was not exactly a mixed bag of feelings. We all hated it lol Mixnine was a commercial failure, it got basically no audicence compared to other survival reality shows airing at that time, and they were paying dreamcatcher dust from the beginning. The girls had about 30 minutes of screentime in 6 episodes of one hour (or more) each, including performances. I personally think them leaving the show was already something agreed on before it started, cause their tour through brazil was announced in august, two months before they were announced to be joining mixnine (im 100% sure of this cause im brazilian and i went to their concert at that time, i remember when it was announced). So the producers of mixnine didnt want to "wast" screen time with a group that wouldnt be staying till the end. So all of us were pretty happy when they were pulled out of mixnine lol And stuff that has happened after the making of this video: Handong went to china to join the chinese reality show Youth With You, meanwhile dreamcatcher went on their first usa tour with 6 members. After that they released their first full album Dystopia The Tree of Language and Promoted it with 6 members and a masked dancer holding Handong's spot in the choreography. We couldnt get them their win cause we faced very big groups specially Izone that had a comeback in the same week as Dreamcatcher. Meanwhile Handong didnt make through the reality show and was cut off in the middle, but covid happened and since she was born in Wuhan (which means her passport was issued by wuhan) and South Korea was not allowing wuhan issued passports into the country, Handong was stuck in China for a while. She did some individual promos and even showed up in a chinese singer music video as the lead actress. While Dreamcatcher was having their first online concert that was considered a success. Dreamcatcher then released another mini album called Dystopia Lose Myself and promoted Boca without Handong. Some music shows (the ones we had more chances) were cancelled because of a "covid breakout" and we failed on getting the win yet again. When Boca promotions were over, south korea ban on wuhan issed passports was lifted and Handong could finally comeback. (fun fact: we woke up to many pics of her in an aiport one day, with many chinese fans saying she went inside to catch the flight to south korea, and we all went crazy on twitter cause she was finally going back, some korean fans even recorded the arrival of the damn PLANE in korea's airport but then...... we found out she wasnt in it lol which means we are all clowns). After Handong got back, They also held their second online concert that had a public of over 10k people. After that, the 7 of them released another mini album: Dystopia Road to Utopia and here it's when things start to get weird. Many music shows started to change their rules even streaming platforms had some changes that directly affected our plans to get a win. The Show voting app changed from starplay (where a lot of us had thousands of collected votes) to starpass (where we had nothing). Genie app started to require a korean number to register, many criterias on the music show wins changed. It all caugh us off guard, but we managed to get good results on charting (Dreamcatcher charted #1 on a korean platform for the first time ever). But still, no first win. After that, they held their third online concert, consisting of two-nights concerts, it attracted more than 20k people. And then, they released their newest album Summer Holiday as a special gift for their fans before the start of a new era. And guess what? Voting apps and korean music shows changed their rules AGAIN. And a lot of broadcasts were suddenly cancelled "because of the olympics" they said. At this point our brains keep telling us there is no way the industry would be doing this on purpuse to prevent dreamcatcher from getting a first win, but at the same time, it always happens when they announce a comeback, how much coincidence can that be? Well, i dont know, but we dont trust anyone lol
I don't know who the woman is that put that video together but she is brilliant. She also did one for Blackpink ( WHY YOU CAN'T LOOK AWAY FROM BP) were she identified a color palette for each member and showed how it was used in M/V's, costumes, lighting, and set designs to accentuate each member. She puts together very high level videos that are well thought out , written, and articulated. They are a breath of fresh air ( just like yours are too) from the standard reactions of "ya hear me" - "ys feelin me" - "ya know what I'm sayin" - "I aint gona lie" - "no cap" etc etc etc. Now that I know the history of Dreamcatcher I kinda feel vested in them and want to hear more of their music. K-pop album sales are a bit weird, it looks like they just want to chart and make fans happy. You only get 1/3 a normal album compared to western artist, but amazing artwork. So many high quality photoshoots. But then they only sell a few of them, like numbers in the thousands not 10 or 100 times that as you'd expect. Normal artist you can buy all albums even a decade later, no rush. But they don't want to make money in korea? Not even in the merchandise booth at concerts, I did get a t-shirt but they didn't sell much else. No lightstick or any albums. While the price of the concert was way higher (€50 or €100+ for VIP instead of the usual €25 for the same venue...), I'm not sure they make super money from tours. A shame, because the main reason kpop doesn't sell more abroad is the ridiculous shipping cost. €20 shipping for an album that costs less than that! And the low availability makes resellers earn profit instead of the company. I think they could have sold bundles of ALL their albums to most of the people attending the concert! Posters and lightsticks are nice advertisement so ideal to include with a VIP ticket or at least sell at concerts....
Remembering this makes me feel angry ... Dreamcatcher deserves better! I mean, yeah, they don't need a win to prove they are talented and successful, they have international recognition, but still hurts, because I know to the korean people that win tittle matters. really hate The show.

about mixnine thing, it was not exactly a mixed bag of feelings. We all hated it lol Mixnine was a commercial failure, it got basically no audicence compared to other survival reality shows airing at that time, and they were paying dreamcatcher dust from the beginning. The girls had about 30 minutes of screentime in 6 episodes of one hour (or more) each, including performances. I personally think them leaving the show was already something agreed on before it started, cause their tour through brazil was announced in august, two months before they were announced to be joining mixnine (im 100% sure of this cause im brazilian and i went to their concert at that time, i remember when it was announced). So the producers of mixnine didnt want to "wast" screen time with a group that wouldnt be staying till the end. So all of us were pretty happy when they were pulled out of mixnine lol
And stuff that has happened after the making of this video:
Handong went to china to join the chinese reality show Youth With You, meanwhile dreamcatcher went on their first usa tour with 6 members. After that they released their first full album Dystopia The Tree of Language and Promoted it with 6 members and a masked dancer holding Handong's spot in the choreography. We couldnt get them their win cause we faced very big groups specially Izone that had a comeback in the same week as Dreamcatcher.
Meanwhile Handong didnt make through the reality show and was cut off in the middle, but covid happened and since she was born in Wuhan (which means her passport was issued by wuhan) and South Korea was not allowing wuhan issued passports into the country, Handong was stuck in China for a while. She did some individual promos and even showed up in a chinese singer music video as the lead actress. While Dreamcatcher was having their first online concert that was considered a success. Dreamcatcher then released another mini album called Dystopia Lose Myself and promoted Boca without Handong. Some music shows (the ones we had more chances) were cancelled because of a "covid breakout" and we failed on getting the win yet again.
When Boca promotions were over, south korea ban on wuhan issed passports was lifted and Handong could finally comeback.
(fun fact: we woke up to many pics of her in an aiport one day, with many chinese fans saying she went inside to catch the flight to south korea, and we all went crazy on twitter cause she was finally going back, some korean fans even recorded the arrival of the damn PLANE in korea's airport but then...... we found out she wasnt in it lol which means we are all clowns). After Handong got back, They also held their second online concert that had a public of over 10k people.
After that, the 7 of them released another mini album: Dystopia Road to Utopia and here it's when things start to get weird. Many music shows started to change their rules even streaming platforms had some changes that directly affected our plans to get a win. The Show voting app changed from starplay (where a lot of us had thousands of collected votes) to starpass (where we had nothing). Genie app started to require a korean number to register, many criterias on the music show wins changed. It all caugh us off guard, but we managed to get good results on charting (Dreamcatcher charted #1 on a korean platform for the first time ever). But still, no first win.
After that, they held their third online concert, consisting of two-nights concerts, it attracted more than 20k people.
And then, they released their newest album Summer Holiday as a special gift for their fans before the start of a new era. And guess what? Voting apps and korean music shows changed their rules AGAIN. And a lot of broadcasts were suddenly cancelled "because of the olympics" they said. At this point our brains keep telling us there is no way the industry would be doing this on purpuse to prevent dreamcatcher from getting a first win, but at the same time, it always happens when they announce a comeback, how much coincidence can that be? Well, i dont know, but we dont trust anyone lol
I don't know who the woman is that put that video together but she is brilliant. She also did one for Blackpink ( WHY YOU CAN'T LOOK AWAY FROM BP) were she identified a color palette for each member and showed how it was used in M/V's, costumes, lighting, and set designs to accentuate each member.
She puts together very high level videos that are well thought out , written, and articulated. They are a breath of fresh air ( just like yours are too) from the standard reactions of "ya hear me" - "ys feelin me" - "ya know what I'm sayin" - "I aint gona lie" - "no cap" etc etc etc.
Now that I know the history of Dreamcatcher I kinda feel vested in them and want to hear more of their music. Always enjoy your reactions and comments.

I actually got distracted with some new music to me ( ONE OK ROCK and a little CAKRA KHAN, and a lot of MAMAMOO) and watching so much SEA OF HOPE inspired me to rewatch one of my all time favorite Kdramas. K-pop album sales are a bit weird, it looks like they just want to chart and make fans happy. You only get 1/3 a normal album compared to western artist, but amazing artwork. So many high quality photoshoots.
But then they only sell a few of them, like numbers in the thousands not 10 or 100 times that as you'd expect. Normal artist you can buy all albums even a decade later, no rush. But they don't want to make money in korea? Not even in the merchandise booth at concerts, I did get a t-shirt but they didn't sell much else. No lightstick or any albums. While the price of the concert was way higher (€50 or €100+ for VIP instead of the usual €25 for the same venue...), I'm not sure they make super money from tours.
A shame, because the main reason kpop doesn't sell more abroad is the ridiculous shipping cost. €20 shipping for an album that costs less than that! And the low availability makes resellers earn profit instead of the company.
I think they could have sold bundles of ALL their albums to most of the people attending the concert! Posters and lightsticks are nice advertisement so ideal to include with a VIP ticket or at least sell at concerts....

Dreamcatcher deserves better! I mean, yeah, they don't need a win to prove they are talented and successful, they have international recognition, but still hurts, because I know to the korean people that win tittle matters.
