Very enjoyable video and as for those little bits of scrap metal. well apart from the fact they should not be in the river some of those bits could easily turn out to be of Historical significance. And the of course what is just scrap can be financially benefitted from when collected in sufficient amounts.

    Hi Tom.
Great to see this video and remember the great water lark we had. I’m just about to go through the Eurotunnel on my way back to Holland, so I will watch this under the sea!! How apt!

Tom, with rivers and streams such as this, one’s soul quietly nudges one to don the waders and go for a stream walk/lark. You picked a beautiful day and location for this outing. I (Ian) felt for that row of trees precariously perched along the edge of that eroded river bank, a limited future I think. Your stone skimming certainly roused that kingfisher, a great throw.

I wonder how those small security cameras would work, the tiny ones, perhaps using LED lights on the bottom of the bucket as well, attaching the battery on the inside of the bucket. just a few random thoughts. This one has the ragged remains of a concertina too... which I think rules out a box brownie, the lens is about 30% wider than the one on my Dad's box brownie too. Think that one was my granddad's too, he was a RAF aerial photographer during the war, and a keen travel photographer after.

Yes, I'm looking forward to being able to stay out filming later and later, sometimes visiting three sites in a day. Winter, I struggle to film one in a month.

Hi Tom Fabulous video, ☺️ Great Finds, Did You make the bucket? 👀 More Info needed 🪣
    Thank Yous 🙋‍♀️☀️

Thanks Georgia, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the bucket was just a standard 17 litre bucket with the bottom cut out, and a circle of acrylic stuck in, using silicone sealant covered over with duct tape. I bought the circle of acrylic pre-cut off ebay, fairly cheap. 🙂

What a great day! What time of year was this? Always lovely to have a trip out along a river with you. So therapeutic 😊

Ah, your sense of humor! Wonderful! Very relaxing video before I have my last nap for work tonight. Suggestion for not seeing your face in glass bottom bucket, a brimmed hat might put your face in enough shadow.

Thank you, that's a good and easy suggestion to try. I'll give it a go.🙂

Have you tried the chest harness, that holds your go pro under your chin on your chest? It most likely would record into the bucket and your hands are mostly held in the position of where the camera is mounted.

Could you attach a 12 inch clear glass plate to bucket or trash basket? You could attach go pro to the plate on inside of bucket to film.

What's that orange washing out from the bank? Also, lots of finds, amazes me that so much stuff is just laying about.

It's iron oxide. The dumpsite is about 30ft thick, and there's a lot of old iron in it; as well as copper, brass lead, and even a little silver and gold. 🙂
