Great review!! Very detailed on what sizes can go in this upright freezer! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your experience. For those still using a chest freezer, it it MUCH more convenient to use reusable bags to group like items together. That way, you can access things at the bottom easier, quicker by pulling out BAGS, instead of ITEMS.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much!
So helpful and informative 🙂 Length was great. Well done and thank you!
Thanks for your comments!
I like that freezer, thank you for sharing your experience 🙂
My pleasure 😊
I have a large chest freezer and use stackable bins and a marker board above the chest freezer to map out everything in it, therefore I always know what is in my chest freezer, and can always reach all the way to the bottom of it easily. Chest freezers hold cold air extremely well and will save on electricity costs, also chest freezers are not auto defrosting, and so they will keep the temperature more consistent to avoid freezer burn. Finally because the cold air stays in, and isn't constantly spilling out when you open the door, it minimizes moisture and thus frost buildup, meaning manual defrosting events will be minimal.
I'm so glad you had that pizza in there. I buy that brand all all the time but I only do it when I'm cooking it that day because it's so huge.
I know, right? It fits with ease!
i just got mine today. 299 since it was minus 50 bucks off. we had a truck so we just picked it up ourselves. i shifted food from our newly broken down chest freezer. i have to say really it all depends on your food shapes, if it is more flat in dimenson and if you know how to pack each drawer it'll fill pretty easily. i played hella tetris when i as a kid and honestly i got most of my food from my 8.7 chest freezer to fit in this freezer. its really nice to have. not disappointed in my purchase at all...
How was it $299?
what i learned about organizing in draws in selves you have to really think about where stuff fits also making everything flat and taking stuff out of boxes
I am receiving mine tomorrow
Great video, do you like this better than the Hisense upright freezer you did a video on several months ago?
Hi, that wasn't my channel.
Great
I have a question I bought this upright freezer from costco about 2 weeks ago but when I plug in I heard the machine it's running but I didn't get any cold from it. Changing my outlet still not cold. Is there something that I missing ? Or I just unlucky? Thank you. I'm about to return it.
It takes a few hours to get cold when first tuened on. You might have got a bad unit, but another possibility is it was laid down or on its side while transported home and then plugged in immediately without waiting 24 hrs. If this happened it can mess up the cooling in the coils.

Can you change the door swing direction like you can on most refrigerators?
On mine it does not appear the door can switch directions or be modified to open the other way.
How much? What's the price?
what does it mean for this freezer to be garage ready?
A garage ready freezer is built to withstand more extreme temperatures in the environment
This is a more complicated topic and there's articles online about it with more detail and temperature range. My garage doesn't get extremely super hot or cold so I'm able to use a standard fridge/freezer.
@@KeithBlade thanks! do you happen to know the temperature range for this freezer?
Will a 20 to 25 pound turkey fit in this freezer? I was at Costco yesterday and looked at it but am unsure if it will work for large items. Anyone?😊
Hi, I doubt it would fit. Most of the shelf spacing is about 7 inches even if you remove the plastic bin. Bottom one about 9.5 inches tall but it's not as deep
@@KeithBlade
Thanks, that makes my decision easy! Happy Thanksgiving😊
Can anyone confirm if this freezer is garage ready? Not all freezers are.
Not officially far as I can tell. But this depends how hot your garage actually gets. I've been running this in our garage from day 1 only turned up half way, and it works great. Same with the freezer before this one, ran fine for years. But even in summer it's rarely above 85 in our garage. I don't think this would work in a really hot garage like in Arizona. Also may depend if your garage has insulated walls or not.
will it hold a brisket?
Hi it depends how big. I'd say the freezer would hold a small turkey, but NOT a large turkey. So it depends how big your brisket is, if you remove the plastic drawer you'd have 7 inches of clearance between the shelves.
anyone got a current price?
Hi check their website, there is often a different price for online vs in-person.
I could swear it was $300 yesterday, hopefully I'm picking one up this afternoon
I see it for $400
Do you deliver
I'm not Costco... I'm just a guy on the internet 😅
honestly your chest freezer looks like a 5 cu ft from the video. overall a good video though.
It's a little bigger than that
You can't put a turkey or big ham in there.
Yep, the chest freezers are better for that. But most people already have a standard fridge/freezer in their kitchen that can fit a ham or turkey.
@@KeithBlade good point.
The manual defrost is gonna be bear.
Doesn't seem like it. You just take out all the drawers and all the contents comes with them
Manual defrost 👎🏻
Yes, like nearly all freezers in the $300 range it's manual. However I've never seen an easier way to do it, just remove seven drawers in 30 seconds stack them on your counter and it's ready to defrost. It's a much longer uncomfortable job with a chest freezer.
@@KeithBlade how often do you need to defrost it manually? I’m assuming the ice buildup will cause the drawers to stick will they not?
@@AereForst Havent had to yet, and minimal ice build up since we got it 6 mo ago. You're correct the drawers will start sticking! We keep ours in an insulated garage. It's drier out West, but I'd say in a humid climate you may have more defrost issues but much of this depends on how long the door is open when people are going in and out of the freezer, that's when air gets in and then freezes on the cold coils. My guess is I'll have to defrost mine no more than once per year with how it's going.
@@KeithBlade I’m in California. Thanks for the answers
