Considering our history of producing great sitcoms, it's really sad that there's not been one that's really captured the nation's attention since G&S. I hope it won't be last
The best guest so far, great interview, Rob opened the tap and Larry poured out a great story. Looking forward to a whole series of Larry Lamb episodes
The cast must have heard the applause through the tears, in rooms across Britain, cos the finale of "Gavin and Stacey" truly lived up to it's hype-best ending to a series on Christmas Day since "Only Fools" 1996.
For a little sitcom on bbc 3 when I started watching it to see it absolutely dominate Christmas with a fantastic finale was amazing and 17 years later for all the original cast to still be up for it says a lot
I've enjoyed immensely, so many of these podcasts, but this has to be the best. I've been a fan of Larry's, since he appeared in "Triangle" in the early 80's, with his laid back manner. I'd have been happy if it was 3 hours long, or at least if Rob had said it was the first of six episodes! I really, really hope that there is at least one more 🤞
It's fascinating how people get on. Hearing from someone now old. I'm not sure these opportunities still appear. I hope they do. But this is a lesson in saying yes to everything you think sounds interesting.
Have been a big fan of Gavin and Stacey from the first episode I watched on an Air Canada flight… Have spent time in Nova Scotia, including Antigonish and Halifax. Great stories. I listen to this show a lot and this was the best episode by far. Bring on Part Two!
A cascade of good fortune - actually (better), surfing the wave(s) of good fortune. Having the presence of mind to do and to adapt to the requirements of the moment. There are probably still these crooked (in a geographical sense) byways through many career paths, but, almost always, it's a/the weird starting point that puts the potential journeyman outside of the sway of the regular gatekeepers. Another cracking interview... another interview of an *ordinary* life, but only from the perspective of the person living it. 😊🎄
After the first 10 mins of the finale l was cringing at the poor quality and forced humour. By the end l was resenting having given it an hour and a half of my time. It was truly painful, unoriginal and predictable. It should never have been made.
This was one of the most riveting interviews I've heard in this podcast, Rob. Part 2 please!!
Couldn’t agree more - PART 2 PART 2 PART 2!!!!! What a life!
Loved Gavin and Stacey. Probably the last really great traditional British sitcom. If you could describe it as that. It was so much more. ❤
Before woke culture took over and immigrant pandering ruined the great British mainstream mentality.

Now we just need a Nessa & Smithy series! 😀
But Only Fools came back for two more specials
Merry Christmas Rob & Larry

What a brilliant episode. Loved every minute. X
The art of networking... with a lovely big helping of the gift of the gab. Riveting ❤. Charming fella.
That was a fantastic interview Rob. Larry is a unique individual.
I love Rob’s chats and I can’t wait to see this Gavin & Stacey here in the US!!
Larry is looking great! 😀

Great friends with storybook lives.
A fantastic actor and clearly a lovely chap as well.
Larry lived every American and Oxford dictionary definition of "actor" without planning to.
Could listen to Larry all Day!👌👌👌
Excellent interview. What a fascinating story!
What a lad is that Larry. Amazing stories and very inspiring.
I loved the finale. It was perfect !

What a life he’s had

Watched it last night. Just a brilliant finale! Got to get Laura Aikman on now Rob
There aren't enough Larry Lambs around.
Larry 'Superman III' Lamb. is the G O A T
Reply if your excited for the special
Just finished the full episode on Spotify, why rush it down to an hour? People can happily listen to 2-3 hour podcasts.
What a fascinating man, Loved him since Fox. Though Id have stayed when he walked in on Maggie Steed. IYKYK
Wow
Lush ❤
5:23 He was in oil? Was he a sardine?
Oh please, go on, drop the time limit.
It wasnt that great tbh nothing about that episode got me close to flipping.
I feel like 50% of what he says is made up.
Wash your mouth out. How could he make up stories with such a vivid memory of facts, events and geographical locations?
That is all true. He is an amazing man who has lived life,

Cheers Chris, we enjoyed it.
Happy Christmas hair Rob
Great show…too bad Corden is in it.
‘Is in it’ - he wrote it you pillock.
