TFF played the recording of this track prior to taking the stage on the Songs From the Big Chair tour. The lights were still up as they went through it, and everyone was getting psyched, then -- with about 30 seconds left in the song, there's a guitar part that goes up then it comes down again -- with that, the house lights came down and the stage was pitch back -- then the cheer went up! We were so psyched to see TFF and they came out just as the song was fading out and the place went nuts! Awesome memory!
Thank's for this reaction. This (For me) is one their greatest songs, ever. Not many know about it. It is so underrated. So lost behind their big hits. But deserves so much more credit.
One of very few officially allowed western LPs in old socialist Czechoslovakia - they were not deemed to be political by censors. I spend one whole summer holidays listening to it when I was 13y old. Sleeve had lyrics and all… pure magic! Got too deep under my skin and never left. Glad you liked this track 👍🏻 Listen and Working hour are fantastic gems
This brought a smile to my face. How wonderful to know that as a 12- yo girl there there was a young boy far, far away reading the lyrics back to back and sharing the same favorite songs on this magical album. Hope you are having a good weekend enjoying great music 🎶🍷
Roland's voice is GORGEOUS... When I heard that part for those firsts times 5:10 I thought it was keyboard. After listening several times I realized is human voice singing "myyy feeeeeling..., sOOOOOooothe myyyy feeeeeling..."
I only knew their 80s hits throughout my childhood, but I recently discovered their album cuts and really enjoyed them. This track immediately interested me due to its mystical vibe; it almost puts you in a trance. As for the chanting aspect, on a recent TV interview, they admitted it was just a bunch of random words their producer came up with (this was a bit of a letdown to me, honestly; since they are such good lyricists as a rule): Roland: And then when it came to doing those strange backing vocals, it was really...Ian was just throwing these odd Kenyan words at me, and I would sing them, but I don't think they mean anything at all. Curt: Well, they used to mean "Wrap me up a chicken tikka takeway" is all I remember it, but... Ian: I'd been to Kenya and knew the Swahili for 'chicken', which is kuku. So the rest of it is nonsense. It's "Humay ana chicken a kuku say." Absolute rubbish. But if you sing it with enough commitment [laughs], you get away with it.'
Thank you Jammin for doing my request I really appreciate it Tears For Fears are my favorite band but started listening to songs that were not played on the radio recently and discovered this masterpiece , love your channel definitely one of my favorites!!
this album had a little bit of everything in it, and this song was the outro, broken was the interlude to head over heels/remix, probably the greatest set at the ending of an album if it wasn't for the smiths
The thing with their songs is they are so much better with vocals. I think if you listen to them without vocals it would be missing something. Just my opinion I'm so glad you love them. When I started listening to reaction videos a few years ago this was the band I thought of right off the bat❤️

Well said!
You must have pretty much heard the entire album through these reactions, so you may as well just experience it in its entirety. Well worth it.
I used to play the last few tracks on this album to get into a deep state of relaxation. Wonderful production, trance like and so imaginative.
Exactly!
Finally a reacted who listens to the entire song without interrupting all the time, good job

It's one of my favorites. They have a new album out just last month.

Can't tell you how many times I fell asleep to this song (and album) while flying somewhere

It's like a greatest hits album❤️
Well said! No doubt one or the greatest album in music history
Modern day classical music. Where do you even start composing something as complex, deep and absolutely on point as this.
I thought the same thing how do you produce a song like this with so many layers it's unbelievable!

Fantastic song, request and reaction!
Don't know which ones you've done, but try "mother's talk" if you haven't, or go back an album and try "pale shelter"
