This over ARage 100% AR had way to many admin abusers and people unbanned from RMT / Botting.
iam playing on ar for years...i dont know what the f you are talking about ....admins are so great...community are great and so populated we got more than 100 players in every event....i keep seeing people say its p2w....iam 14k gs i have many costumes many mounts glider and never spend a dollar...i dont even know how to donate....so stop the cap lill kid
14k gs is nothing though on the patch AR is on, you get that in a month or less, especially if you can claim the catchup box they got.
Also AR has always been extremely P2W , they even allow you to buy and sell full characters. The admin abuse is common and public knowledge too, supposedly has stopped for a couple years now though. If you have any friends on the server playing longer than 5-ish years ask em about it, around 2018-19 iirc some of the staff got exposed for tons of admin tools abuse shit, back when it was still on Obsidian gear they were even offering us (the PN we had on legacy) high tier gearsets to switch to their server, doubt we were the only ones.
Pretty much almost the same shit going on in AAC, unjustified bans/unbans, admins giving special treatment to their buddies, spawning items/gold for selected guilds, etc etc. Both sides have stuck true to AA publishing, do dumb shit and ruin their rep, supposedly both sides stopped it. Only difference is if you wanna grind hirams till the game itself gatekeeps you, or grind 15h a day on classic making progress with every single minute you spend, chasing the top peeps.
why choose archeage classic over archerage? why is haram gear seen as a bad thing? I haven't played the game in a while, so I'm curious about it
There are many issues I've encountered and heard of about Rage over the years, from P2W being encouraged to admins being biased towards friends, alongside the server being on par with legacy pretty much meaning all the horrible patches, balancing and updates that emptied the official servers and drove most players away. I won't get into details here about AR's drama as it's not the point of this video, and I'm not interested in spreading negativity towards another community anyways. To be absolutely honest and fair, Classic had its own share of drama and issues but that's over for a while now with the dev team making one great choice after another and some pretty sweet custom updates as well recently.
Now game-wise, in my personal opinion, Classic is better because it's on my favorite patch of the game that is considered the best era of the game by most players, every gold making method is viable, crafters fishermen packrunners farmers, all proffs are good to do on this patch.
Furthermore, open world and naval content is actually useful and relevant so there are people everywhere around the map instead of just EHM, plus you're not forced to do 4 hours of dailies just to be able to progress your gear, you do that in your own pace.
My main reason for Hiram gear being universally bad is that it's time-gated and guaranteed no matter what.
If I play for 10h a day and you play for 2h, and we both do the hiram quests, I'll get the same amount of gear progress as you will, it's punishing the people putting in the time and grind by not letting them advance further, with the main focus being "P2W if you want to get better gear (Erenor) or stay at same level as everyone else". The good ol' greedy tactics legacy AA used to milk money out of the game that drove the majority of the playerbase away.
Also, it's not even fair to the casuals, since the difference between Hiram and Erenor gear is MASSIVE so they're getting clapped to oblivion either way, ending up uninstalling and the server having a handful of whales coping hard to not quit and accept that they wasted thousand of dollars on a dead game(me included).
The AAC team is actively banning RMTers too so all P2W kids are being removed, and their IRL money store has cosmetics and tiny QoL upgrades, nothing to give you an advantage over others.
The patch that Classic is on is exactly the opposite than Hirams, the main way to get gear is gold, with luck being close second. There are tons of viable ways to generate gold in this patch as I mentioned already, and you can either take your chances at regrading items for your gear, or stock up on gold and buy it off of someone else.
Overall, time/effort spent translates way more accurately and better into gear progression on the patch Classic is on. It gives the casual players and the lifeskillers something to do since all proficiencies are viable, the gear gap is very easy to close, so the server stays alive longer, and actually feels that way too, you'll see more people around the map than just AFKing in Marianople or Solis.
In the end of the day, play whichever version of Archeage is the most fun for you, I'll be sticking to AAC as it is great for casual gameplay, sweaty grinding for making gold, min/maxing silver per labor and time spent with your mates, and small/big scale pvp

@@wuwu1598 yes bud,now is the best time to join if anything! They made it so you level up super fast, just follow main quest line and you're almost 55 in a couple hours, and once you get level 50-51 you get a box of catch up equipment. It contains a set of plate cloth and leather armor so you can try any class, same with weapons, and while obviously they're not the top gear, they are bang on average,so you can do 90% of the content while working on your proper,top gear. There are some activities to do in game that'll allow you to boost that gear a tiny bit more as well, if you feel like the grind takes too long.
It also includes a 30 day freighter,30 day merchant ship and a 30 day fishing boat,so you can start making gold before sinking a lot in them.
You will obviously not be on par with the top of the top players,but as I said, it'll get you started pretty nicely,the gear you get will do just fine in any PvE content, and it's fairly competitive for PvP too since the majority of the playerbase is using them still,or equivalent stuff.
They got a double xp, honor etc etc event running now and for a few more days, and a lot of custom patches and events planned for the next few weeks as we're approaching probably it's biggest update yet.
I do recommend giving it a shot,if you don't wanna grind and stick around long term, it's still good fun to PvP with the free stuff you get while a lot of the players are also undergeared!
