The Huntington Library and Gardens are such a wonderful continuing gift and inspiration! There's so much for everyone: botany, art, medieval manuscripts, culinary delights, peaceful respite, and marvelous settings for live music, whether a jazz trio or a classical ensemble.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Henry and Wife for the huntington Library and all those beautiful gardens. Im glad to be there each time i can. One of the most wonderful places in all the world.
Great presentation! I grew up in SoCal and visited the library many times in the 70's. Did you know that Henry had his own personal rail spur to his front gate? It was still there the last time I visited in 1978. It has since been removed. I'm looking forward to viewing more of your material!
Beautiful and elegant! I want to stop by there nx month! My camp program has that trip coming up, and it costs $50! They have other biweekly trips coming, on my favorite day, Saturday, TH-cam! 🏯
I love that house and I used to run all around it as a child. I dislike that you have blocked it up with gallery walls. All the beauty and character of the interior is gone.
Wait. 1892 photo you are showing doesn't look small with those old buildings. When was that photo taken? THose buildings are huge. Who built those buildings?
But it would have been much much more than that by the inflation index . $61 million for art is not a lot with the wealthy ... not today but back then it probably came to over a billion that they spent on all the art and antiques ... and other collectibles .
I visited today for the first time ever…to be honest it made me kind of sad (being Native American) when I walked into their home it felt like it belonged in Europe not here. That’s why I searched for this video-to see the history. There isn’t even a native plant garden on the property *smh* there is a Japanese garden but not a native one. I won’t be returning. It’s sad what these once healthy natives lands have turned into.

It’s crazy how they persevere the gardens so well some of the photos in the video look the same today in 2020!
I'm from Oneonta, New York where the Huntington's lived as well and their mansion is now the library here as well.
Fabulous! Have been there twice and there is still so much to see.
I loved visiting this beautiful garden and I could see how the people of california enjoy this biological gem. long life for the garden

Roots of greed as we've seen tRump showcase it!
Just one minute in, but I cannot tolerate the weird human-like narration or the inappropriate music.

Voiceover and graphics seem more suited to 10 year olds. New target audience perhaps.
