    A slipper clutch is NOT to allow clutchless shifting, it's to avoid rear wheel lock-ups on down shifts.
    You also forgot to mention just how many world championship titles Husky own, they are not just about chainsaws at all.

    FYI: Long time ago, Sweden had even stranger laws than today. A "light" motorcycle could weigh maximum 75 kg and this was the kind of bike you could ride at 16 whereas "heavy" bikes were everything else and you could ride at 18. Husqvarna made the most popular "light" bike. It was called "silverpilen" meaning the silver arrow. Google it, there are photos. It had a two-stroke 175 cc with 9.5 horsepowers. Because of the weight limit these bikes were really flimsy and had only 2-layered tires. But they were popular, there were thousands. Until 1971 when rules were changed to max 125 cc for "light" bikes. This effectively killed the silverpilen.

    A Little advise for does looking to buy one of these!
    The sound form the exhaust it's more agresive it's like more deep... And the vitpilen, it's really a short travel daly use bike, don't even think in going long distances,
    Your lower palms and wrists will thank me later.
    And for me the font suspension it's kinda bouncy... But that's my opinion an feel.
    Any way... If you are 1,60mts - 1,89 go ahead and buy it. You won't regret it for shure.
    Very good and reliable engine, awesome new cafe racer style, all led ilumination.
    Responsive on throttle.
    And the best of all, easy to service, even you can do the normal filter/oil change (torq wrench needed).

    Like the Svart over the Vit but the graphics make both much better on the eye, the rear hugger numberplate spoils the rear on both but i still would not have one, i owned the Nuda when it first came out and that was quirky looking too but next level looks compared to these 2 by Moulinex.

Great commuter aswell, even tho the seating position and everything is really something to get used to, not everyones piece of cake i can tell you so much. It only got really nice to ride after maybe 3-4 days or so, before that i really felt a little „uh, not so comfortable after all“ to be honest. But just like the first ride on a naked bike at the freeway, you get used to it.

      do you have the 2020 model ?

    • @1.8T20V
      @1.8T20V 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yannis K No, MY2018. I preffered the previous model because of the fact that it was still assembled in Austria by KTM. The 2020+ models are being made in India by BAJAJ. Altought the 2020 has as far as i am concerned, adjustable front forks and an easy shift function, basically a clutchless upshift, so a half assed quickshifter.

    • @SMOOVERoner
      @SMOOVERoner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1.8T20V 2020's model are indeed made in India but in the same factory as KTM 390 duke. Thus, it is still under Husqvarna supervision so I guess there won't be any difference versus previous models. But I get your point, I want a vitpilen 401 and I want it to be reliable on time.

    • @1.8T20V
      @1.8T20V 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yannis K Yeah of course, it only seems viable since they build the dukes over there anyways. I havent ridden the 2020 model but mine is an absolute unit. I mean, adjustable brake and clutch levers, adjustable rear damper, steelflex brake cables, all stuff that would be optional or customizable on other bigger biles sich as the MT-07 comes as standard on the pilens. Basically a combination of a duke engine and frame, rc390 stance and sportiness, KTM powerparts and a total lack of fairings. Put all that in a box and send it over to the swedes to design it and poof, Vitpilen 401. Such a stupid and inefficient combination if you think about it, but thats what makes it all the more enjoyable.
      And btw: I dont have anything against the factory or the fact that its being made in india, im just a little bit patriotic is all 😜 owned a KTM 990 Superduke before and it makes me almost a little proud to have the Vit be made by the same hands.

    They are selling cheaper because they moved production from Austria to India where the Duke 390 and 390 Adventure are made, and having them produced there is just cheaper for a plethora of reasons (real-estate, labor, etc.)
    Quality control seems to be as good as before - so far

      @@Michelsen3K I was saying because I've had a chance to see both the Austrian and the Indian made Svartpilen, and there is no real difference in the way they are put together, no flaws in the paint or hanging wires or gaps between panels, if I didn't know the one was made in India I would have no reason to assume it was. What internet says is just like you said it now, someone made an assumption and then the rest just spread it around as if it was the truth

    Excellent review fellas! Great to see you exploring the vast variety of what's on offer these days. Not to everyone's cup of tea - styling wise but at least Husqvarna have bucked the trend again. I have a CB300R which has a similarly unique look with what Honda call the "Neo Cafe" range. I love it! Having downsized from much bigger bikes, I've re kindled some of the feeling which got me into bikes some 30+ years ago. They say a small bike ridden fast is much more satisfying than a big bike slow and I entirely agree.
