The way Bray Wyatt was introduced to the main roster makes it the best call up ever. He was trending worldwide after the very first vignette, and they never said his name. He was that good of a character coming in
I was afraid of the Wyatt Family vignettes until the debut came up. Bray Wyatt, Eric Rowan and Luke Harper (R.I.P) were the best modern monster trio that I had the pleasure to see on their best days in WWE.
I think Bray was the last big Dusty Rhodes project.

Roman Reigns & Alexa Bliss accomplished nothing in NXT but accomplished a lot in RAW & Smackdown. That tells me something.
Alexa was a good heel was WAYYYYY to push on the main brand for my taste the way kelly kelly was pushed back in the late 2000's.

Yeah, I think a list vs a tier makes it more obvious which is the worse and the best. At least, imo
A 1 hour and 31 minutes of the NXT call-ups brings fans to think many "What If...?" scenarios that would've been better booked than the past ones that ruined most of the former NXT alumni until they either left or were fired from the promotion.
For those of you wondering how depressing this list is, nia Jax is ranked 29… out of 105 people (and some tag teams). Dear god.
Well, her sloppiness gave us the best version of becky lynch, so that's something at least

@@gian9810 She has the look and the attitude to be a monster in the womens division without even the need of talking, however I am not sure if it was the time away or if she was really injured and couldn't practice but you can see a noticeable decline in her in ring performance the last couple years with moments of her shining. She hasn't "botched" anything to the point of causing serious injuries but the lack of selling and at times just lack of being in the right spot has been very bad. There were about 4-5 times during this years womens rumble that she completely messed up the flow of the match with her awful performance. She's had an awful lot of "off nights" where she didn't look very good in the ring over the last year or so.
It's amazing how this list is half "What could have been!" and half "Why did we get this?"

90% of this list is people that were unfairly treated, but man... I feel like Enzo was cut waaay to soon. He is a once in a generation talker and so entertaining. Hopefully he finds a new home on one of the other televised companies.

Tyler Breeze and The Ascension had so much potential. Breeze was a main event NXT talent with every attribute, and Ascension was the greatest NXT tag team ever. Sad that they were buried so quickly on the main roster.
Breeze was nothing but a high class jobber in NXT, he was made to look like a threat but he was never winning anything big there.
@@theaccountant1522 He was usually in a good position on the card: a title contender, in the main event of Takeover, and the only guy to wrestle Jushin Thunder Liger. They seemed to think highly of him until he got to the main roster.

@@DanteJayce As he said in an interview. Breeze basically said that he knew/figured out his position as the person who would give everyone their best match but never be THAT guy. It worked out for him for over a decade in the WWE even with the main roster shenanigans

Simply based off tv time, PPV matches, and longevity Madcap Moss, Liv Morgan, Theory, and Ricochet could move up plenty of spots.
You get it, it’s not easy to get consistent amount of TV time
Call ups stopped working after Dusty Rhodes passed away. A solid voice Vince listened to and a champion for talent was lost and never replace with anybody that couldn’t be ignored.
Right now there's a bunch of call ups working well on the main roster right now, having been called up years after Dusty's passing.... Most of them actually? He died in 2015.
@@jk6971 Idk if you're serious, but the top 10 were all talent that personally worked with Dusty. Even if he wasn't alive to see them explicitly touch Raw or Smackdown. And because every one of those lads and lassies that were in the same graduation class or later, aren't Charlotte Flair or Roman Reigns, they aren't pushed to the moon like those two are. Because Vince wants Charlotte to be the person to break Rick's 16 time world championship reign and the doggy dog big big dog tribal chief literally could, in Kayfabe, probably beat every single person that's ever walked through WWE's doors, going all the way back to when Bruno Sanmartino was still ruling the roost. So even if you think some of the more recent call ups have been treated well so far. Either they're going to be squandered and poached by AEW, or they're going to meet that Flair/Samoan shaped glass ceiling.
nxt 2012-2015 has great call ups, almost every one is a call up and very very successful , but the Indy nxt all failed on the roster
Yeah and a lot of it was due to very, very bad booking on WWE's part.

Indie nxt had a lot of failures, but we've had a few good call-ups in recent time. Theory, Priest, Bianca and Bugez come to mind. I think the 2.0 prospects will do great, as well.

Monday Night Rollins is personally my favorite era of Seth. His run with the IC title ruled and honestly I feel like he made it then, not when he was world champ which is odd. But I really think that’s when he became THE star he needed to be.
I started watching wrestling at this period and he made me love it ^^
This is why fans need to stop getting so hung up on who's holding what title

The man makes the title as they say. The IC title should feel like a big deal. If it doesn't, the bookers/writers, or the champion are doing something wrong.
Give this a few more years and I think Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Austin Theory, Riddle and Montez Ford will climb up the ranks.

Man the amount of talent NXT had during the black and gold era and then subsequently ruined on the main roster, with the exception of a chosen few is downright criminal 😒 . Not saying everyone was going to be headlining superstars/ world champions, but it still sucks seeing where some of these men and women ended up
Yeah, is unfortunate most of the NXT alumni got nothing but 💩 by the VKM brigade in the 2010s to this day. But, those who got released are doing way better elsewhere.

It's really sad for Dijakovic... He is really great. His looks is much more closer to what he looked before , he's mostly seen on Main event thought. He needs to get rid of that T-BAR name somehow...
The Ascension went nowhere because of Road Warrior Animal. He publicly complained in interviews about their gimmick and then called his brother John Laurenitus to complain about how The Ascension disrespected LOD in a promo, claiming they were better, because you know, heels are not supposed to take shots at others and say what they are told to say for their storyline/gimmick and Animal thought this was real. The Acension were then buried, pretty much lost every match.

In AEW's defence, Ruby's first few matches in AEW were rough. She was pretty clearly out of ring-shape and just didn't deliver. Now she's been on Dark and Elevation for a while getting herself back to her best she's starting to feature a lot more on Dynamite and Rampage, in programs with Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter and arguably the most over women's wrestler in the company Britt Baker, so I don't feel she's been that hard done by personally.

His other major problems were age (37 debuting on the main roster with 0 prior main event experience a-la KO or AJ Styles? Fuck off says Vince) and his numerous breaks for mental health issues, nothing wrong with him taking time off to get himself better in my eyes, but in Vince's eyes? There's no time for such weakness.
@@lilsunny7399 ummm just to correct you on 2 things: you can't compare KO and AJ to Lars, they both had over a decade of experience and both carried their respective companies so not only did they have the experience to get over they also had the mental strength to be a company cornerstone whereas Lars was scouted and groomed by wwe and had zero experience in wrestling until he was brought into NXT at 27 with KO and AJ having 32 years total in the business before reaching WWE. Btw that mental strength wasn't a knock on Lars just that you have guys that have all the tools but can't handle the pressure like when Eddie Guerrero legit said he couldn't handle it and asked to drop the belt. Second those things he posted on the internet was posted WHILE he was a wwe employee including the racist and homophobic remarks, that last one was especially hilarious since ironically Lars was involved in gay porn back in the day. So you have a guy who can't mentally perform, said homophobic and racist remarks while under contract he's done gay porn which is bad PR for a PG company and you've spent over 5 years trying to get him ready only for his anxiety issues and injuries setting the timetable back each time, you gotta do what makes sense and cut your losses and release the guy
You need the right partner to dance with to create magic in Pro Wrestling and ladder matched sell itself so yeah everybody made everybody look good at that ladder match

NXT went from an actual developmental show to a toy collection when H-man signed Roode , Everything that has happened im regards to releases and NXT in the last 2 years is a direct consequence of H-man deciding he wanted all the new toys. He signed people that never ever should’ve even gotten a look just because he decided, in the depths of his ignorance, “I want them”. The indies, etc. became his Toys R Us. It was ridiculous

@Chuck Buskee he was established as a good wrestler but not as a star. Not to mention Seth was young. Hunter was signing guys that were already in their prime when they got there. You cannot expect a lot of those mid 30s guy to be the future of the WWE

Of all the people on this list, realistically Baron Corbin is literally the only one who has been pushed constantly from day 1.
I did it! I watched the whole thing in one sitting! And to think my mother said I'd never accomplish anything in my life...
And because WWE didn't push EC3 now we have to suffer knowing CYN exists.
It's genuinely aggravating how many of these entries end up being "They got themselves super over of their own accord, and WWE got upset about it."

Honestly a good majority of the 2018-2020 NXT Black and Gold cohort will always make me sad that they were bundled so badly. Johnny Gargano vs Tomasso Ciampa was my favourite feud in decades. Richochet gave my that same excitement as my early Rey Mysterio days. I’m not saying the whole thing was perfect, but I can watch nearly any NXT PPV from THAT era and know there’s at least one classic I’ve not enjoyed yet.
But then man… the Main Roster just likes to take away surnames or change names altogether and then just turn some of the few indie greats into absolute fodder

There could be an argument that Paige is the most successful out of everyone here. She was basically the catalyst for WWE to improve their women's division to what we have it today and I personally think that is more than oh this person won this match and they are x champion.

This list had kinda a sus order. I was surprised Liv Morgan was under Rick B, and that Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were above her- and Bianca not being higher than she was and Big E being above Asuka. Great list though!

when i think about successful NXT call-ups Seth pops up in my head before Roman … NXT Roman was forgettable he would’ve made Top 3 at #3 with Charlotte #2 and Seth at 1 but either way this a solid list
They still can make gable into modern day angle. They absolutely need to keep gable and Otis relevant until Steveson comes to the main roster and let him wreck shop under gable’s wing
Otis and Gable are neighbors in real life which is why they have great chemistry

At the beginning of the video I wrote down my choice for the top 25 and the only ones that I missed were Damien Priest instead of Riddle and Nia Jax instead of Carmella. I guess it is safe to say that I agree with this list xD

He doesn’t count because drew was in the main roster before nxt so technically he’s on the list of those that were in the main roster that went to nxt because they had nothing better to do at the time
Kairi sane and toni storm were both sadly mishandled in their main roster runs. Hope that toni and Kairi get a chance to shine in AEW and stardom respectfully
Is it just me or is the acesion release saga like the funniest thing, like how the main roster writers completely shot themselves in the foot with the booking when they got called up
The craziest thing about Kurt Angle/Jason Jordan storyline... Jason does kinda resemble Kurt.
It would be interesting to see how this list would change given how some of these NXT stars have progressed in the main roster in the year since this video released

Damn. Jason Jordan could've been a top 10 NXT call-up if it weren't for that neck injury. I see a lot of similarities between him and Austin Theory and I hope that Theory takes off the way we know Jordan would have.
Yeah it sucks they broke up American Alpha but I feel confident saying there was no Janetty of the team and in a perfect world would've both thrived alone or together

Riddick Moss deserves to be higher in the list, his work has been decent off late
*This list is really good but in my personal opinion I think Seth Rollins could been No.1 and Sasha Banks as 2nd. These two has never disappointed and always brings out their best in all the matches they have. You can literally make them wrestle with someone who's not even wrestling yet that person will look amazing. But ofcourse because of booking decision I would agree with Charlotte and Roman at 1 and 2.*
The Sasha and Charlotte hot shoting the title was one of the best of 2016
