It's Cold on the Outer Banks ,but not that COLD ...Bundle up stay Dry ..[ ps I would have a Bottle of Jim Beam ] You should know those Mountains by Heart now ... Thanks for the Ride ...
Yes it’s cold but not too cold and the sun helps a lot but when the sun goes down the freezing temps jumps right in hahaha. Yes we have a bottle of our favorite drink as well to keep our body warm 😃🙏
I was up around the mountains here in oregon last weekend, everything frozen over. Didn't see much beside old pickings. This makes me wanna go look again soon.
In a way it seems easier with the more neutral color tones once the cold sets in. I will have to give it a try sometime but pretty sure the area i went to is all covered by snow at this point. I kept encountering big owls this year on my forays. Thanks for a different perspective on areas. Ive been skipping the smaller trees and focusing on larger second growth etc but only found a few this year. I was glad to have my kids find their first Matsutake but i can tell they have a harder time understanding the whole slowing down.
Good to hear and I wouldn’t recommend to go out there when they are frozen because they aren’t as tasty as when they aren’t frozen. The only reason I go out is because I do it for content otherwise I wouldn’t be out there. Funny thing is, I never seen animals when I’m foraging and the only ones I usually see are chipmunks lol. Thank you for tuning in my friend
@@washingtonlife totally understand just based on how cold it is. Finding them in clusters like that and frozen is still better than not finding much. It's been freezing here at low elevation so I would imagine it was really cold at elevation. Hope you're feeling better. Let's hope for a great mushroom year in 2025.
Wow I can’t believe it’s all frozen and you’re still out there 😮. It’s low 25 degree this morning, keep warm!
