- CONGRATS TO ALL UPCAT PASSERS 2020 ✨ Welcome to a new awakening chapter of your life: COLLEGE. Just wanted to share with you my journey on how I still got in to UP even though I wasn't in the passers list. I am down to my last semeseter ((hopefully)) in UPLB, so I thought of telling you my story before my college journey ends. This is the first installment of my series called #UPLifeBitsYT - get a glimpse of UP[LB] life through my 10-15 minute bits of sitdown videos. I'll bring you around the campus once quarantine is lifted!

Daddy God,
You are perfect in all of Your ways! Thank You very much for the gift of life and all of the blessings You have entrusted us with. We are so grateful that you allowed _(your name)_ to pass the UPCAT. We are nothing without You Lord, and we acknowledge that all of these achievements are Yours and not ours.
Lord, I am praying for this person who is in great need of your help right now. He/She is about to begin a new chapter of life, may it be in UP or not. Equip Your child, O God, with all the knowledge, wisdom, and perseverance that he/she needs in order to succeed in this battle. I claim Your unconditional love, healing, and mercy for this wonderful child whom you have appointed to live a purposeful life. We know Lord that You have great plans for us-- even though at times it is not what we exactly wished for. With that, may we live it according to Your Will. Guys, di ko nabanggit sa video ang BATCH B recon. Possible na nag aaccept pa ng recon til 2nd sem, pero mej matagal kayo maghihintay. For sure OUR will give you instructions naman, but just for you to know na marami pang chances kung sakaling di kayo pinalad sa BATCH A recon. Hintay lang and pray lang talaga if gusto nyo mag UP. 🙏🌻

omg ate 20 year old palang kayo habang kami na magffirst year palang 18 na kami xD i passed upcat and i'll share my tips nalang din. i passed upcat on my second campus choice (uplb) and second course choice (non quota). i highly recommend brain train review center because most of their teachers are graduates from up! your upg comprises of 60% from your upcat score and 40% from your highschool grades so malaking hatak rip. thank you so much for these helpful videos!! you inspire a lot of us soon-to-be iskos and iskas 🥺💕

Hello again 😅. I also felt the lack of hope, because the reconsideration process starts at July, in which in that time the enrollment in other universities has also ended. I'm planning on enrolling on a university while also taking the reconsideration 😂. You were enrolled in the first day and I have a question. Did you pay the tuition for the sem or for the year in your previois school in order to transfer to UPLB? Might as well do it ...
Just for the sem :) it’s also a state univ in Manila, PLM, and the tuition is just 10k for non-manila residents. I only got 7k refund 😢

Most colleges inside the UPLB campus have a policy in which waitlisters are not allowed to shift/transfer to a different course. I am planning to get into a non-quota course and transfer to BS Electrical Engineering in CEAT. Is this still possible?
Jason Reyes Hi Jason! In my case, there was no written agreement or any contract to sign stating that I cannot shift since I was just reconsidered. Although, they asked me during the interview if I have any plans of shifting. I said no (I wasnt really sure yet but yes I did have plans). Wag mo nalang siguro sabihin. Haha. But after a year of staying in that course, I felt that I can reach my potential in another course which was IE. So I just fixed my shifting papers. Wala naman pumigil.
Although i have a friend na mej nahirapan shifting out of forestry. Nag appeal pa sya kay chancellor. Pinayagan naman :)
And then, IE was too hard for me pala. Bumabagsak ako sa math, and I dropped my Physics 81 (sobrang bilis kasi ng pacing). I feel like if ilang math and physics pa ang matitira, sobrang madedelay ako mga 8 yrs haha
And then i shifted again to my current course. Their only requirement during the interview was that I should finish the program within 5.5 years. And sakto naman :) So that’s my story.
I have a friend din batch 2018 who applied for recon, may contract na pinirmahan daw. Agri ang course nya.
@@RICAJANINE Hello Rica! Thank you for sharing you and your friend’s experiences in the process of shifting courses. It has truly given me an insight that my plan was still possible. Maybe if I will be asked if I have plans for shifting, I will follow your advice na hindi ko nalang siguro sasabihin sa kanila. Hahahaha! You were already enrolled to another school, then transfer to UP because you got accepted. Must be really expensive because you did pay all your tuition for a semester/year right?
Right now, I am just confuse because I have two options: reconsideration or transfer. If I decided to take the reconsideration process, and take a non-qouta/quota course unrelated to BS Electrical Engineering will some subjects be credited? If a chose to enroll in a different campus and just transfer, will my subjects be credited (I heard there is an exam for this)? I am confused because most likely both of the options will get me delay and I will become a freshman again. If you could give me some insight, I will be rather thankful!
Jason Reyes Hi Jason! That’s a really nice question. I’ll have a lot to say about this so I think it’s better to make a separate video about that. Will have to ask OUR first if policies have changed and then i’ll keep you posted. But this is really something to consider. I suggest you go to UP nalang straight up. I’ll explain how and why you should do it on my next vids, so please stay tuned. ❤️

However, due to our current situation, contacting OUR is on limited to emails, which is not that great based on my experience:(((. I would gladly wait and watch your video once it gets uploaded. Batch 2020 ABME freshie here!
UP was always been my dream school kasi gusto ko maachieve ko rin kung ano maachieve ng ate ko - my sister was a Dev Com graduate at UPLB.
I was devastated nung di ako nakapasa sa UPCAT, but luckily mataas naman ang UPG ko, and UPLB was my first choice. Nagreview naman ako sa Brain Train summer before UPCAT season. Nakakahiya nga kasi I applied as part timer sa review center na pinagreviewhan ko, pero di ako passer.
I applied for recon, but I didn't pass it also. Hindi ako nawalan ng pag asa to enter my dream school and course - Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship. I thought maybe it was a test for me na panindigan kung ano ba talaga yung gusto ko, kung iggive up ko na ba sya after rejection, but no. I stand to what I want.
I tried again for 2nd sem recon, and I DID IT! I PASSED FOR THE SECOND TIME.
Don't loose hope after rejections, try and try lang!

Hi Bryan! Yup :) mataas sya as compared to my other batchmates who applied na 2.8 ang GWA. Try mo pa din. I think may ibang mga tinanggap pa din kahit walang UPLB sa application form 😊

Hi po, ate. If magpapa-recon po ba, tinitingnan din po ba ang percentile score for each subtests, or yung UPG lang po? Hoping for your reply. Thank you po.
Yes they do check your subtests lalo na depende kasi yun sa course na aapplyan mo. :) Pag science courses, mas mataas yung requirement nila for science and math. Pag humanities naman, mas mataas dapat language and reading.

Katuwa naman yung experience mo. I was batch 76 ng pumasok sa uplb. 70s nun, wala pa yang mga review centers. Sariling review ko lang nun. UPCAT ko nun december, results mga april ata. Ang letter lang na dumating, congratulatios na you have been admitted tapos instructions sa mga requirements, medical exam. Ang saya ko nun kc yung father ko gustp talagang mag aral nun sa UPLB kaso working student sya sa Manila. I did my parents proud specially my father nung pumasa ako. Nalaman ko lang na right minus wrong pala ang checking, nung labasan na after the exam. Naku dami ko pa naman hinulaan lang lalo na sa science😅. I chose SUGAR TECHNOLOGY pero di ko sure kung quota course ba yun nung araw

I attended a local review center dito sa gensan, pero hindi ko natapos ang pagrereview dahil na ospital ako, nabali yung right arm ko, in fact, i took upcat na leftie kahit right handed ako dahil naka cast yung right arm ko, pero thank God, napasa ko parin, up cebu ab communication

We’re almost on the same upg range and i got in easily sa lb. well not easily, but u know, nauplift din ako somehow knowing na even tho my name isnt on the list, i got in!! I dont know what to advice you. But if di ka pa naman nagsusubmit ng requirements sa ibang school, u can still try UP naman! Wala pa silang holds sayo :)

carlos john 21 sa UPLB lang offered ang vetmed na course pero pwede ka pa din mag lagay sa upcat application mo ng ibang campus/courses :) hindi nga lang vetmed

Andrea Gahit yup!! LB prefers applicants na naglagay ng LB sa choice nila kahit 2nd choice lang. But I guess, there were still other people who got in even though they didn’t include LB :) possible na for next sem (batch B) ka ilagay if ganun. Basta priority nila yung may choice :)

Hi po ate! Pwede po pahingi ng advice? Plano ko sana Kasi magparecon sa UP Manila kasi hindi po ako pumasa and pasok naman po yung upg ko dun. Kaso nga lang po wala po akong gustong course sa mga possible courses na available sa kanila. Plano ko po sana if ever makapasa sa recon is magtake up ng kahit anong course na mapasahan sa recon and mag shift ng course and mag transfer sa UP Diliman. Any tips po kung ano pong dapat kong gawin para makapagprepare if ever. Also po, medjo malayo po kasi yung course na gusto ko which is BS Business Econ sa possible na course na makuha ko sa manila which is Development Studies or any course. Back to zero po ba ko nun?

Jay Latigay Hi Jay! Konti lang kasi talaga ang course sa UP Manila. I suggest you recon sa UPLB- BS Economics, or BS Agricultural and Applied Economics. Mas sure yun kasi pwede ka nang mag take ng econ courses at hindi masasayang ang subjects mo. You can take up Econ 11 (Intermediate economics), Econ 101 (Macroeconomics), and Econ 102 (Microeconomics) na agad and credited yan sa diliman. As compared to UP Manila na sobrang layo ng course at wala pang econ background. Baka mahirapan ka. If ayaw mo mag lb and manila talaga gusto mo, you can take up GE, PE, and NSTP courses lang during your stay sa UPM, wag ka na mag take ng dev stud courses na di related sa econ. Kasi sayang lang di mo yun magagamit sa curriculum ng Business Econ.
I suggest also na yung pinakamadaking course nalang ang itake mo sa manila kasi you’re planning on shifting naman sa diliman and kelangan mo talaga ng mataas na grade for that since mataas ang transfer requirements ng School of Economics sa diliman.
But ofcourse, pinaka safe ang UPLB BS Econ or AgEcon kasi andun ka na sa field na yun. Matututunan mo na kung anong subjs yung itatackle and hindi ka lost once you’re in Business Econ. Ma-guage mo na din yung difficulty nya. Nakakadelay din kasi lalo if hindi mo pa maitatake ang seasonal subjects na freshman econ palang ay tinatake na 😀
Nanghihinayang po tuloy ako na di ko nilagay UPLB sa isa sa mga campus choice ko. Pero if ever man po na makapasa sa recon then I'll do my best pa rin po.

Hello po so my high school grade po (9-11) was 82 and im a bit worried coz I think its too low. But ate kinoconsider po ba ng up especially uplb yung pinaggalingan na school? Yung school po kasi namin sobrang taas po ng standard and iilan lang po nagiging honors and ayon po mababa po maggrade. Thank you in advance po, sana masagot.

Thank you po huhuhu. To tell you the truth po, last year po nung moving up namin out of 620+ na graduates, 33 lang po honors kaya mejo disappointed po ako kasi bakit may ganon silang grading system and sobrang strict po bago kayo maka earn ng 80 above huhuhu. Anyway thank you po ♥

Di ka nagkamali sa choices of degrees sa UPD, your UPG did not make it to UPD 2.1 hence you were not evaluated there. You also did not make it to UPLB 2.3. Kaya nasa General Appeal ka. Passers wont be given their UPGs and subject area percentiles.

Hello po, may I ask po halimbawa po nakapasa ka naman po sa UPCAT pero hindi mo pipiliin ung first campus choice mo (due to certain circumstances). May chance po na makapasok ka sa ibang campus na pinili mo (2nd/3rd choice) supposing na pasok naman po ang UPG mo roon? Thank you po.

MNLove Ash is my oshi SIS BCOS UP IS UP 😩❤️💚 Iba pa din talaga kapag BIG 4 ang univ mo. (I think big deal din kasi yun sa highschool batch namin). Mas maraming opportunities and connections aside from the academics. Totally one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life so far ✨ I thank God for this opportunity! Kahit pa ang dami kong pinagdaanan na courses at nadelay, hindi ko makukuha yung life learnings na natutunan ko sa UP if I just boxed myself within my comfort zone. More vids will be up these coming weeks!! Share ko din yung extra curricular activities ko aside from acads ☺️

I passed UPM po but planning to apply for recon in UPLB po para sa dream course ko if ipagkakaloob ni Lord, but unfortunately during the date of application period ng recon po, deadline na po ng enrollment sa PLM. So I'm planning po to enroll muna sa PLM and if natanggap po sa recon, ipu-pull-out ko na lang po yung mga reqs,credentials. Paano po ba yung process na ginawa mo during your time po sa pag pull-out ng credentials?

Felix Danniel Rellosa If pasado ka naman pala ng UPM, why not start from there nalang, take GE Courses + PE + NSTP, then magtransfer ka to UPLB. It’s easier to transfer within UP systems than transfer schools 😉

uhm i just want to ask po, my average since jhs was always 90 (highest na is 92 nung g10 and 11) po, and i've heard na mga natatanggap lang po sa UPD ay mga nasa 95+ ang grades, will there be a chance for me kaya? :((( wala rin daw atang UPCAT for this AY (pero todo review parin ako hehe) kaya nawoworry talaga ako :(((
