  • It has been seven days since Singapore began implementing stricter safe distancing measures, otherwise known as a "circuit breaker" period. Authorities have had to enforce the measures quite stringently, raising penalties after people began flocking to hot spots like parks and wet markets.

Kandi B you know why we don’t encourage mask? Because we don’t have enough mask initially !!! And taiwan ban export of our masks, our own production line based in Taiwan. This caused a one month delay, from shipping the production line and bringing it back to sg. So I understand why we did not encourage wearing mask at the start.

@Yusuf Best See that was a better response, anyway my point still stands, no matter smart or dumb, population control is needed sooner or later before we doom ourselves as a collective, but this might be in a range of a few hundred years.
No one's panicking here, quite the opposite, only ignorance to a virus that spreads quicker than even SARS, its not the mortality rate that is the issue, its how much medical facilities can be provided before it becomes too much.
The lockdown to me personally, i might be wrong, was 2 weeks to a month too late, numbers are doubling quickly, but it might subside within the next two months, only time can tell.

Obviously news reporting is important 🙄 most are complying doesnt mean mean it wont spread, all you need is the weakest link to ruin it all. You can only hold the government accountable to a point, it's like blaming parents because their 30 or 40 year old son decided to commit a crime.

@@OliviaChoong Actually Governments often protect themselves with a "One Rotten Apple Spoils The Barrel" statement on their implementation of their policy. Eg we can only achieve this goal if Everyone complies with these measures. In this case, governments will never be in a position of accountability because they can always stand behind the excuse of not achieving a goal (as and when they wish and blame the people), because not everyone can possibly be in full compliance. So unless there is a significant and justified level of non-compliance, we should still hold the government accountable to their policy if goals are not achieved. It would be unfair to blame any failure on the people and not hold the government to account and justify/review their policies into why a goal couldn't be achieved when say 90%+ complied and only

Only 2900 cases and only 9 death so far so not that serious at all ... other countries got thousands over death so dont over panic please .. SG medical team really efficient they can handle it and got enough ICU and medicine so calm down everyone ... I am really looking forward for this circuit breaking to be over cos we need to focus on our economy .. just look at China, South Korea and Sweden they have openex their business and the economy is slowly recovering so we must stay positive follow China, South Korea and Sweden ok and dont panic cos its not good for our immune system.

our government was over confident of our medical team and this is what happened. from the first death and now escalate to 9. 2918 case only 586 recovered. which mean over a thousand are still waiting for miracle or death.

@@tonywoo-antiqueviolinsandb6969 ... definitely Economy must come first cos human life can be sacrificed cos over 5 million people too congested SG must maintain below 3 million population cos SG is super very tiny and its very dangerous during outbreak people need to breathe ... Thats why I said Economy first cos SG depending on outside world for food, business and economy growth ... When economy crashed society badly affected and there will be more domestic violence, crimes, suicide, famine, virus spread eventually lead to more death .. We must face reality its better lead life as normal but continue fighting the virus.

Suggest dont let sick patient hoard ICU too long maximum can give 5 days and also quickly transform Sentosa island into hospital and quarantine place for current and future use when pandemic breaks out... We dont need recreation and entertainment in Sentosa anymore cos in future any pandemic will be worse than Covid19 so garment must be proactive and be ready for such national emergency.
