The knowledge I gain from Steve's experiences and know how is something I'll keep with me for a lifetime. Kewl dude, I recommend starting small... grab a pellet gun (because usually you don't need any license or paperwork for low power air rifles in most places in the world) and go after small game (ideally introduced pests in you're country). No need to dive into the deep end, cooking up a rabbit can be just as thrilling as getting a deer and that thrill and respect for what ya got never goes away when you get that meat.
I want to thank Steve and the MeatEater crew and staff for all of the great outdoor videos. They have kept me grounded and sane for the last 5 years (through Netflix and TH-cam) or so that I haven’t been able to hunt and fish due to work, the pandemic, and other circumstances. I'm 53 years old Hunter obsessed with hunting videos since the early 90s. Collected and then watch them all Steve your shows up by far my favorite hunting and cooking episodes love them all keep up the great work good luck stay safe. I'm leaving Monday after Thanksgiving shotgun hunt whitetail Western Mass get it done
I remember as a kid watching hunting shows and never once was a mistake made, a bad shot, no shots at all, etc. Some of the episodes when he gets nothing are my favorites as they remind me no one scores every time, and that there is plenty more to appreciate on a hunt than just the trophy

Sharing good food good drink and good time. Not to mention all-night poker games. But that's a whole nother story. LOL
I don't hunt and I've only killed frogs and birds when I was a kid, but changed how I thought about killing animals. Recently, I've changed how I think again by watching these episodes. I'm hooked on this series and want to get out there and hunt for my own food.

They actually 'cut off' a herd of caribou. That doesn't happen very often. They are on the move constantly, they move fast, almost impossible to catch up to a herd of moving caribou. Great videos!
Watching this episode because I'm going caribou hunting in August 10th up north of Alaska. Only done moose hunting, but this is going to be my first time with caribou. Hope we get some!🙏🤞
Only got my mom and dad cook for me... but in time I have to jump into cooking too being single... one thing that I learned from it is that I love it and knowning you know that yourself can make what you love to eat but time of experience you can turn any meat to a beautiful tasty dish...
@Matt Eckhart in my hunting areal there are only roe deers (but a lot of), hares, foxes, ducks and other small game. But a few kilometers away, there are red deers, wild boars, mufflon and chamois. But here is much more game like in Alaska. Im sorry for my bad English..🤷🏻♂️😅 greatings from Austria!🙋🏻♂️
@Matt Eckhart it is different to Austria. A austrian hunter needs a difficult exam. Im a Trainer for that exam. The right for hunting is bondet at the land and its owner.
