    File for charity care with the hospital and or speak to a medical bill negotiator. We make sure insurance pays what they’re supposed to and the doctor/hospital is billing appropriately.

    I'm under the impression that once the debt goes to collections even if you settle your debt the hit on your credit score still stays on your record for the full 7 years ?

    • @AscendFinance
      @AscendFinance  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct, it would be on your report for 7 years until it drops off. However, if the account shows settled, this isn't really a "red flag" like a bankruptcy on your report is.

    I got into a car accident while I was on my way yo pick up a door dash order. It was recorded on my dash camera. After I got into an accident I unassigned from the order cause I knew I wasn’t going to make it to the restaurant. I called doordash to start a claim and they denied my claim. Now the hospital is harassing me to pay the bill. A lawyer told me he can try to force doordash to pay the bill if I pay him $1,500

    I went to this urology place more than a year ago. They were ungodly expensive and didn’t take my insurance. I only went one time and it was well over $300. Since then my practitioner suggested going there again after another complication I’ve had. I cancelled the appointment dreading the costs again. Well guess what? I’ve never been harassed about a bill but for some reason after I cancelled that appointment they’ve been harassing me ever since. If they sent that to collections wouldn’t it be fraudulent anyway and I could counter Sue saying they have bought bad debt and counter sue. What should I do?

    It took 3-4 years before they came after me. I went to court. I paid Pennies on the dollar. Also, don’t be a slave to a credit score. It’s pointless. All credit does, is put you in debt. It’s not hard to show up to the courthouse and just tell the mediation “hey I’m broke”. You will pay maybe 30% and or make small payments

    • @AscendFinance

    Should negotiation be over phone, email, or by mail? Also, when a deal is finally reached, what should I request from the collection agency to make sure they hold up their end of the deal? Should I pay with cashiers check and get the letter with the payment notarized? You didn't cover anything of this....

    • @AscendFinance
      @AscendFinance  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions! Usually people will call on the phone when negotiating. You should get all agreements in writing if you can so you'll want to make sure both parties have a letter with the full agreement detailed. You will want to ask the creditor how they want to receive the funds (bank account, check, etc.) but most people will try to get a return receipt for everything like the letter of agreement or if they send a check.

    • @amatomic257
      @amatomic257 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crossingworlds1799I've heard that is a viable option in extreme cases. If you ignore them long enough the debt will drop off & destroy your credit(easy to repair) and in some states your wages can't be garnished for medical debt.
      I would only not pay them in an extreme case as in if I pay I'm gonna end up on the streets. And if it's pay and end up on the streets or run the gambit of not paying up I'm running the gambit.

    • @AscendFinance
      @AscendFinance  7 หลายเดือนก่อน
