I can't thank you enough, this is my biggest worry as a game dev , no way you actually cured it , God bless your soul , please make a part 2 in the future ❤️
Sam idk how to say this but you've now because of this video , many of are actually going to be more successful now, how did you know we needed this??? I'm so grateful fr
Thank You for sharing these great resources. 🎮😲👏🏻 As an Indie Game Dev, I already knew about the first four, but I learned about some new options as well thanks to you. Please keep up the good work 😁👍🏻
CC0 and CC-Attribution is great. Say you download CC-A or CC0 from a site. When you license it with them you cant change it so they are forever CC-A or 0 but what is that model is deleted from site and somebody else says that asset is stolen? It's a bad situation and could happen. So it's good to take screenshots and some other proofs if you are using CC-A or CC0 assets. Just in case.
That’s an interesting point! But who’s to say the screenshot isn’t fabricated 😆 There’s also the Wayback Machine that keeps archives of the internet at different times, however I’ve seen it not work for some sites.
I'm really hoping the future holds more CC0, open source, and public domain for us to use. I also hope more companies start easing up on the insane copyright attacks and move towards a more Sega Sonic approach for lovingly crafted non-profit fan creations. I can't stand the current copyright/trademark system as it constantly feels like I'm stepping on toes and eggshells. Hell, you can't even use the word "Monster" in your game title without Monster Beverage Corporation coming at you with a legal battle. It's downright absurd and slowly squashing creative freedom.
Please don't use AI generated textures. There are so many free textures available for every use case. AI is taking advantage of the artists who put their time and hard work into creating the amazing textures that the AI mashes up. And real textures normally come game ready, unlike AI images, don't waste your time on them.
@@TESkyrimizer I dont mean to be glib, but no texture artist has drawn a wood texture sine 2015-2018 unless they truly wanted to. We don't make textures in photoshop these days. You either build it with in a program like substance designer or material maker (free) Or you scan it with photogrammetry (free), b3m, structured light, lidar (comes with your phone), or crazy bump (free)
To your other point, there are texture artists who love creating textures. A texture artist I work with has spent the last several months creating the perfect stylized wood and bark textures for several species of tree. Not for a commercial project, but because they love studying and understanding how trees and wood work. It's weird, but they love it, and they love to share what they make. They're not going to upload them though because an AI data set is just going to scrape them all

Is there a tool where you document your asset's license , origin, etc or do you just use word?
Thanks for the help. I'm tired of dealing with licenses and looking for free assets. May God give you good health and good groom. 🙃😆😄
Great!! Thanks for making this video!! I appreciate it :D

Thank you 👍👍
Samyam I think Your Voice will match good on a Vtuber avatar . I recommend to have a Vtuber like avatar and have it in the channel.
@samyam This is easier to setup than one might think, if interested contact me 😉
I am commissioning a PNG Tuber right now!! :D I like that vibe more
I would not like this personally
@@samyam awesome 👍

As an artist I love to draw textures of...*checks notes*... wood. For hours.

I also make textures, I like to photo scan 'ground truth' textures though. That's more fun to me. My stuff has already been scraped
Lol no
to be honest, i don't even care about "licensees" when i steal images off of google. hippity hoppity, your art is now my property.
😐
You will not care about it until random guy goes to court because of random image.
@@cobaka3laya not if I modify the image,
. I usually just trace over the art, or photoshop it in some way so it isn’t exactly like the original.
well at least you're honest about it unlike the AI bros.
