USA & Mexico should build the Mexico Canal now. It can be built a few miles from the newly completed Mexico Atlantic to Pacific in 9 hours commercial freight passenger railway, the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Building it would help make agreements, get repaid by Mexico with major US ownership, give the US national security to move the navy fast. And for the first time, larger ships can be built and no longer limited by the 100 year old canal.

Greenland is not just a vast Arctic island but a geopolitical and strategic asset critical to North American security. While it remains under Danish sovereignty, its geographic reality and defense obligations make it far more aligned with U.S. interests than with Europe. The United States is Greenland's de facto protector, and a peaceful transfer of sovereignty would serve the interests of all parties involved.
Since the early 19th century, the Monroe Doctrine has been a cornerstone of American foreign policy, asserting U.S. dominance over the Western Hemisphere to prevent European and foreign interference. Greenland, though politically tied to Denmark, is geographically part of North America, not Europe. It is an anomaly that a European nation holds dominion over a North American landmass while relying on the United States for its defense. Historically, the U.S. has acted decisively when external powers controlled strategically significant lands in the Western Hemisphere. Just as Russia's control over Alaska was untenable, leading to its sale to the U.S. in 1867, Denmark's hold on Greenland is a remnant of an outdated colonial arrangement. Greenland's security, development, and strategic potential align far more with Washington than with Copenhagen.
Greenland's defense does not rest with Denmark or Europe; it is the responsibility of the United States. Through NATO obligations, the U.S. maintains Thule Air Base, a critical missile defense and early warning station essential to American and Western security. With Russia militarizing its Arctic territory and China aggressively seeking economic influence in the region, Greenland's role in Arctic defense is more vital than ever. The armed forces of NATO are thousands of miles away. Leaving America as Greenland's sole realistic defender. It raises a couple of questions: Why should America continue carrying the burden of defending Greenland? Without having any control over its governance, resources, and future?
America negotiating the acquisition of Greenland would secure the Arctic frontier by eliminating any possibility of foreign encroachment on one of the world's most contested regions. America would protect Greenland against rising threats, ensuring Greenland remains aligned with Western security interests. It would provide Greenlanders with development and stability as Greenland remains economically underdeveloped under Danish rule. America's investment could bring modern infrastructure, industry, and opportunities, just as Alaska benefited after its purchase. It would also resolve an arrangement, as the U.S. is already paying the price of Greenland's defense while Denmark retains sovereignty. A transfer would correct this imbalance and allow Denmark to focus on its European priorities while Greenland becomes part of North America's economic and security framework.
Greenland is North American by geography, American by defense, and vital to U.S. security. Continuing the status quo exposes Greenland to foreign influence and forces the U.S. to defend a territory it does not control. A peaceful and negotiated transfer of Greenland to the United States would enhance Arctic security and provide economic and strategic benefits for Greenlanders, Americans, and Denmark. In an era where Arctic competition is heating up, the U.S. should control what it already protects. Greenland is not just an asset; it is a necessity.

Katie wasn't even born. I was born in the Canal Zone and was 8 when the Treaties were signed and yes the U.S doesn't need to ask politely & has a right to go anywhere in the country of Panama. The least of the worries is the Chinese controlling the canal, the Chinese are controlling the whole country. When the Treaties were signed you basically has Taiwanese here and very few Chiness in Panama City, now the Chineses are in every little town even in Chiriqui. All this thanks to Mireya and Varela. Almost 99% of the automotive parts stores and a big % of the harware and contruction is Chineses. 90% of the small supermarkets are Chinese and so much more. They have achieved this especially after the invasion in 1989 and even more after the year 2000. It is highly likely that the CCP has a hand in this since there are really no 100% privately owned businesses in China. WAKE UP!

@ I did check US logging of bills and acts and no such clause exists in the agreement signed between US and Panama in 1977. There was a clause annexed to the agreement afterwords (1978) which was not signed by Panama and as original agreement says no changes can be made to original the annexed clause has no effect. You do your homework now.
