Learning simple and effective small nymph patterns for trout and grayling is a great advantage in fly fishing. To accompany the full color print book "The Fly Fishing Bible of Nymphing", here is another absolute "confidence" pattern. It is tried and tested - and I find it works especially well in very cold water during the winter.
Surprisingly, it can also be a good option when fishing in clear, shallow water during hot weather.
The materials you'll need to tie this fly are very simple:
→ Size 20 hook
→ 0.18mm diameter chartreuse wire
→ Tiny pinch of mole fur
→ 2mm tungsten bead (silver)
→ Strong, fine thread (GSP material - e.g. Fish On Ultimate Tying Silk)
Tying flies doesn't need to be complicated in order to create incredibly effective nymphs, wet flies and dry flies. This pattern - like all the flies featured in this series, work just as well in America, Europe and UK rivers - in fact in trout streams around the world.

Thank you for this fly tying nymphs: micro brassy nymph video 🙂🙂!!
I'm glad you liked it Lisa - and your highly specific thanks are much appreciated :) :) :) Paul
This is great guys! I have to sort this tying thing out!
Of course you can also join the Fly Dresser's Guild, which will give additional help and encouragement.
I really like your fly tying videos. Thanks Paul. By the way, are you planning to present new patterns on Kebari In Focus too?
Both myself and John will continue to work on new videos for Kebari in Focus (and related topics) for TiF episodes. We are working on a re-design of the DT website and, once we have the Fishing Discoveries project running under its own momentum, we'll be pushing both websites forward with new ideas, content and videos - Watch this space Valentin and many thanks for your comments, Paul (and John), FD, DT, TiF... fishing addicts!
@@FishingDiscoveries I am looking forward seeing all this new content. Keep going both and have an happy end of year.
