What you did is totally wrong because baby blackbirds leave the nest and learn to fly after, so the idea to keep them in a close space and touching them made things more difficult for them. Anyway beautiful garden.
I guess they did leave the next day because that was the last time I saw them. But every year since then, there have been blackbirds nesting in that tree. It could have been one of them and then their offsprings returning year after year. Who knows?
