They changed when the Canadian Armed Forces were integrated during the late sixties and early seventies. I was shocked when I saw a naval unit, when coming to attention, they lifted their legs. Their salute had changed as well.
Thanks for your comment, unfortunately it was cold and I didn't have my gloves on. Not to mention that I was walking backwards and sometimes bumped into people or objects.
Some of those chanters aren't liking each other !
i just realized that Canadienas, even this very British troops, don´t salute like the british do ( palm facing out )
