This guide did the boys kinda dirty in this video but that’s just my opinion. I feel like the person who made the video used pretty bad examples of their music, weird clips, and wrong/random facts about them so it kinda portrayed them in a weird way :/. There was a video on TH-cam called “Why You Shouldn’t Hate Tao For Leaving The Group” and it explains in depth his situation at the time pretty well, and how much of a shitty company SM and how poorly he was treated while there, but sadly i guess it was deleted. But he truly did love EXO and being with them and he stuck with them for as long as he could physically and mentally, but he hit his breaking point and he had to leave. And that goes for all 3, they were really horribly treated by SM and as much as it hurt having them leave, I’m really happy and proud of them that they took that step and left the company for their own safety, and are now doing well and what they love.

I think you need to start watching some of the programs that Idols go on such as "Running Man," or "Three Meals a Day" or "2 Days & 1 Night," etc. to understand how variety shows work. These type of shows are more like reality shows, which are different than the segmented "talk" variety shows like knowing Brother, Weekly Idol or Idol Room. On these shows they are always having to do unusual tasks to show off their hidden talents, etc. or to give the show comedic situations. Idols go on shows like that to show off a different side of themselves. The clip where Tao was chasing the chicken was a clip from a Chinese TV show, and although I have never seen that episode, it was probably a part of the show where he had to try and catch a chicken as part of a task or mission to help his group or team. The other people on the show are other actors, Idols, singers, comedians, etc. and they are all there to promote themselves and their work.
That episode is from Law of the Jungle China, and they were staying in a tribe, they were gifted a chicken to eat, but had to catch it firs! The show is amazing and hilarious!

They are all three still under SM, but Tao has to pay more(back then, he went to America to recover, but after two months, when the lawsuit was still on work, he traveled back to China, opened his own company and released his first solo song, that's why he has to pay until the contract is expired)
