I appreciate that! I am definitely a details kind of guy. Many people like that about my reviews but some find me pedantic, but I won't change for them.
Yes they do. They have become my #1 LOW Budget knife company. I used to have Sanrenmu in that spot but since they started SRM branding the prices of their knives have gone up and up too, so while I still like their quality they are not exclusively a LOW budget company anymore. I have reviewed almost EVERY knife they made (legal in Canada ones) since the G series started 6 years ago or so.
Greetings from Northern California. This is my favorite knife channel, really like his down to earth manner and the best maintenance and sharpening vids. Oil on bearings, I don’t think so, high quality grease is better like he says.
Thanks for the knid words. I used to use grease, but I have been using LUCAS Fishing Reel Oil for the last 2 or 3 years and I prefer it now. For people who often have their knives out in the rain a grease would probably still be a better choice than a light oil even though the LUCAS stuff has extra hydrophobic additives. I like making knife maintenance videos because I think the knife hobby is burgeoning and a LOAD of guys are new to it and they need a place to learn the basics on a budget.
I am so very detail oriented that I have a tough time seeing similarities when viewers suggest one knife looks like another. I had a number of viewers tell me how dang ugly the FT21 was with the weird thumb rest spot on the spine of the blade and the forward finger choil... to me those to knives look significantly different.
Ganzo FH41 next, please, they have a new-er ver.. In the "older" one the liber-lock was a little protruding, compared to the scales, and was wondering if they'd fix that.
This is the first I am hearing of a new FH41 - i will look into it and if I can I will get one, but I already know that I don't still have the original FH41. Wait, do you mean the FH41S - that is a SMALL version of the FH41, that one I am working on getting.
Camera angle. they are the same dimensions except for being a tiny bit longer. Perhaps the old one is shorter because a lot of steel was removed during sharpening? Very similar size blade.
I have seen a bad ganzo - the G6 something, I forget the number - so bad I didn't even review it from the first few months of CCE and F6802 (decent design but failed execution) But I have reviewed dozens and dozens of others that are very nice knives. Even good companies sometimes make duds.
I reviewed the G729 in 2017 - th-cam.com/video/RNivTofyXhA/w-d-xo.html The video quality I did back then wasn't as good as it is now, but you can get a feel for the knife there. I have reviewed ALMOST every Ganzo knife made in the last 5 years - except the automatics because they are illegal in Canada). Enjoy.
Just a heads up to fellow canucks: CBSA seized mine...but hey I saved %5 so I'm only out $54.15 & over two months waiting to find out they seized it plus the time I now have to invest trying to get it back. Not sure how this applies to this knife unless I was sent something else or someone is drinking on the job, but this is the reason given: "A knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife..." Good luck everyone.
I speak quite often about CBSA and how they ban most locking folding knives, but I don't do so on every video because only 10% of my viewers are from Canada and most of those already know what CBSA is doing and the rest don't want to hear me go on about CBSA in every video. BUT, this means that there will be guys who run into issues with CBSA on occasion. I've also made videos specifically and soley about CBSA as well. CBSA's enforcement is quite random and inconsistent and it's NEVER good to appeal because everyone looses their appeals and then CBSA uses those lost appeals to make their confiscation policies stricter and stricter even though knife laws haven't changed for over 40 years in Canada.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge I asked the seller if he had any issues with Canadians purchasing and receiving this particular knife and he said no. I sent him a copy of the Notice of Determination a few days ago asking his opinion and have received no response. I would recommend that Canadians do not order from this company. What pisses me off is that style of knife is NOT prohibited OR illegal and can be purchased anywhere in Canada. The explanation given says nothing about the blade having a flipper (as I was told on the phone to CBSA) only the handle. Now I'm out money and feel like I've been ripped off twice. To add insult to injury, I'm a fixed blade guy. This is the first folder, and likely last, I've ever purchased.
Thank you so much Jake. You have a very keen eye. Your reviews are the best simply because you take note of every little detail.

Ganzo still rocks either way! 😎 😉

Just got the newest version today in the mail box. I like this the most from the FH series.
It is quite high on my list too.
Wow, this has such a similar shape to the Freetiger FT21, a similarly priced little fidget gem as well!

I have the old version and I love it . Wish they gave it a deep carry pocket clip . The detent is awesome compared to their other models .
I think a number of people would prefer deep clip. I am so fond of the wire clip on their newest knife.
i definately need to get the new version! thanks for the comparison!
My pleasure matt
Nice Video! So many quality knives these days.
Yeah, and Ganzo consistently does some very good stuff for less than $30
The detent is so crisp on the 921 it's gotta be one of the best budget knives I've came across under $30.
Ganzo is a great brand to look at for low cost knives of decent quality.
Nice blade brother, great job 👍
Thanks 👍
@@CanadianCuttingEdge your welcome brother

Maybe it’s the camera angle but is the newer version blade wider?

Haven’t seen a bad Ganzo yet! Admittingly though I’m relatively new to the party though.

Looks like amazon still has the original. At least the orange one I just got
Thanks for the update

Table top looks exactly like nutnfancy. Try a different color maybe?
I don't watch nutnfancy, so I didn't even know. It's just a scrap piece of fabric my wife said I could use. I don't have a different scrap to use.
