One of the things I appreciate about TFE is finding and bringing to light amazing individuals like this who've made a massive contribution to history but have been over looked or forgotten.
To be honest with you Hollywood would screw this up because as unbelievable as it is and how fun it would be to see here is an example on how bad they would screw it up. when audy Murphy was making his movie about his time in the service Hollywood told him to tone it back quite a bit because it seemed too unrealistic , even though he was acting out what he did in the service. So yeah they would screw up the movie on Bullard
@@ilovejettrooper5922 like when the bomber was diving at the carrier and the guy hopped into the rear gunner seat of one of the planes on deck to shoot down the bomber. People were criticizing it for being unrealistic but that actually happened. (I apologize for being vague, its been a while since I read up on the pacific theater and dont remember the names of people and things.)
Love to see the faces of the Germans when Bullard came out for the Christmas Truce, knowing most them never saw a black man and here he comes fluently speaking German.
Is this not one of the most amazing stories ever!?! The definition of heroism and courage. 😭❤️😭🇺🇸 The ONLY thing that could have made this more beautiful, is if he could have rekindled with his father. His father did the best he could for his kids. I’m sure he was heartbroken not knowing what happened to his son. 💔😭
Hollywood has never and I mean NEVER done justice to any military hero ever. They even told Audie Murphy to hold back when he depicted himself in the movie "To Hell and Back ". His own life story. They intentionally toned down the story of Desmond Doss, "Hacksaw Ridge". Their reasoning (or excuse)has always been that people would not believe the truth and then they make movies like Harry Potter. It's almost criminal.
I was married for 10 years. Had two kids. Divorced and then five years later let their mom move back in. Basically just roommates. But we have been around each other's entire families since I was 12 and she was 10.
What a fucking badass. I wish more men would be like Eugene Bullard. Fuck yeah brother i served in the 82nd had a tour in Afghanistan but I'm a joke compared to this man
Completely love the stories as told by the Fat Electrician. Dave, I’m with you, I haven’t done anything. I never knew who this was but I need to spread the story to everyone. Great reaction.
His story would be a great series as most good stories are today and since the reason I've found no movie has been made about Bullard is he's not widely known but I'd guarantee a big budget movie would follow a well produced series I've never heard of him but what a life
You said it but as an IT professional I will say it again. BACK UP YOUR DATA. If you don't then one day when your hard drive fails you'll come to me or someone like me begging for a data recovery because you lost the only pictures anyone has of Grandma. I'll try my best but data recovery is pretty lucked based and when I can't do it I'll suggest you go to a data specialist that is going to charge you at least $1000 maybe more. I've seen more or less that exact story play out literally dozens of times.
So happy I've gotten to shake this man's hand give him a hug and tell him how much I appreciate what he does.
Nice to see you again!

Can you imagine if you had a history teacher like him growing up?
The body double is Veteran with a Sign, friends with TFE and the Unsub guys. If you wanna laugh, look up the donkey story from the unsub podcast
Oh lord 😂 that story is not for the faint of heart
Watching veteran with sign tell that story live while eli angry cops and donut reenacted it was fucking hilarious.
I completely forgot that's who told that story
Not the donkey story
@M.ruth96 😅
9:27 "casually become a master horseman" I saw the original and still have 50 minutes of you to watch, but some people are in fact the main character

They’d also probably make him trans or some shit
I mean they put realistic exploits in the new midway movie and people were freaking out saying it wasn't believable, so in a way Hollywood is right
@@davidkintzer1604 How/ what do you mean "realistic exploits"?

Yay! I'm so glad you're reacting to this! It's amazing! I also recommend Fat Electrician's video "the limping lady"
@@coffeeandscarves way underrated video.

Dang onion chopping ninjas got me with tears, every time I watch this TFE episode

Main Character Nexus, man. That club is just a main character nexus.

Also I'm new to your channel Dave but I love it

You have to treat life as a changing game. Roll with the punches. Learn to duck, but most importantly LEARN the LIFE WEAVE. Appreciate you and thanks.

Sabaton and The Fat Electrician are my favorite history teachers.
20:34 Sabaton, let’s go (I am here from Mr Bloyd’s channel)
Great react to probably TFE best video yet!
Once a Legionnaire always a Legionnaire.
yo real og vibes here bro. subbed for sure
5:58 i mean 3 kids isn't much worse than 2, but I feel you
That was Matt from Demolition Ranch
Dan Daily and Cassius Clay are some of the most GOATED People EVER! Real like black Air Force, if you have not seen those you should
Oh, and $2000 in 1916 is almost $58,000 today. Back then, the dollar meant something.
The Germans saw that Hammer Eugene was swinging when he pulled it out to cool the machine gun off and it left them shocked. That's my take on it.😂
Using an average annual inflation rate of about 3%, $2,000 in 1916 would be worth approximately $48,691.18 in 2024.
They could easily make 2 movies on this guy
Hi. Just came by to ask if you know that there is a song for slay the princess.
I hope that someone publishes his memoir
Eugene Bullard was way more impressive than I'll ever be. I'll look downright pathetic next to him, like I'm sub-human.
Dave can you please react to Dax diary of a trying man? I am subscribed and really think you’d enjoy it thank you!
Why does this man not have a miniseries
$2000 back then would be roughly $80k-$100k today.
It's about $61,000 in today's money.
Bro I'm still trying to figure out who that was lmfao
Bullard should have stayed with France. He is a character in Fly Boys.
Watch some other videos. It's amazing what good people can take when they have other shit to do
I've said it before. I'm poor. I hope somebody gets my identity. I could use the income tax money.
They'd rewrite the story and make Eugene Bullard white
There is no need to race swap characters, there are plenty of black hero’s we can movies about.
