One thing to note too, Jin is very introverted. He has talked about this countless times and we've seen it in so many occasions. He is comfortable only when he has his Bangtan brothers with him. When Chris invited Jin to perform The astronaut with him in Argentina, he promised he would take good care of him. Its just the sweetest.you can see how comfortable and at home Jin is with his Coldplay hyungs. I love this so much

A little background info:
- Jin has previously named Coldplay as the artists he would most like to collaborate with. He's been a huge fan of them for years.
- It was actually Jin who initiated the entire Coldplay collaboration, starting with BTS's cover of Fix You, followed by My Universe and now this.
- When both entire groups first met (only Chris was granted two days of very restricted mid-pandemic entry into South Korea to record My Universe.) Chris signed and gifted Jin his favorite guitar and even showed him a chord on it:
Suga: "But you already know how to play the guitar though?"
Jin: "I forgot how to right now."

- At their invitation Jin travelled almost 40 hours each way just to rehearse and perform this one song on stage with them.

Jin's laughter was the cutest moment ever happened in this live performance with Chris Martin & the rest of Coldplay. It's like when you are all fixated with the lyrics, melodies, and visuals, while in the middle of purging your tears out; then, suddenly Jin laughed! It somehow breaks and soothes the feeling of sadness. Jin will always be Jin. JINuene!
Coldplay are legends and it seems they took care of Jin so warmly. It's so uplifting to witness this muso brotherhood between these bands. These moments were so emotional for Jin, and Chris was there supporting him with the band not only as musicians but as his people. If you watch closely you can see Jin's eyes are all teary but he gets to laugh with Chris. Beautiful people in and out.

Coldplay being one of the most loved and respected western artists, nearly 25+ years into making music, admitting they were prejudicial in the beginning BUT then embracing BTS with open arms, literally, learning about them, encouraging and supporting them, expressing their love for them in interviews and their concerts. This is such a wholesome interaction and relationship in this crazy industry and I’m here for it 💜❤🥺
To be honest it made me like and respect Coldplay even more cause they admitted that they were uncertain or had a bit prejudice towards BTS. I really like them together.
Funfact: Chris actually gave his guitar to jin as a gift. Their friendship is so adorable.
Jin has never performed without his brothers (I think?) and the fact that he did that, 36 hrs of flight away, just to perform 1 song and be able to say I love you to ARMY is.... Wow
And I'm grateful for Chris and Coldplay for their love to Jin and be his safe place away from his brothers.

Jin is very shy and humble. He always gets nervous before going on stage. For him to go and perform like this without the other members must have been very scary for him, but he did it for his fans.

I became a BTS fan AFTER Jin left for the service and I am already so invested in them and so in love with them (grandmotherly love) that I started crying as soon as Chris started talking about BTS and then when he introduced Jin the tears were flowing. What is the magic about these boys that you literally LOVE THEM in a way that doesn’t totally feel like a fan? It’s more than that. These boys are special beyond any celebrities I’ve ever seen. The almost child like way Jin runs and hugs Chris get to me every time I watch this. (When I say child like, ai don’t mean immature, I mean HONEST, SINCERE AND PURE). 💜 PS I am going to petition autocorrect to recognize the name Jin. I’m so sick of always having to remember to double check to make sure it did t change his name to Jim:

As for me, i became BTS fan after Hobi enlisted.😅. Started from accidently saw reels in IG of Namjoon being a best leader. Then falls down into the rabbit hole 😂. Before this, i listened to their butter, dynamite, but no care so much.😂. But after falls into the rabbit hole, i discover they have the best rapline i ever heard..

Jin was put into BTS as one of their "visuals," meaning his looks were more important than his talent. He's proven himself to be a great singer and song writer (look up Epiphany) and has worked hard to get where he is. It would make him happy to hear someone comment positively on his voice. Thank you. 💜

That's why people fall in love with BTS, they are very grateful to Army. They show they love us and respect us. In concert lines, the members pay for food, drinks, and gifts for the fans. At awards shows instead of going to after-parties they return to their hotel and do live with fans and appreciate the support they receive in foreign countries. Even if they don't win they tell us not to feel sad and even if they are sick, injured, or almost fainting they never stop giving their concerts. In many interviews, they have said that they always give their best on stage since they know the expense and effort that people make to go see them. BTS members are always on the lookout to interact with us. JK has an ARMY tattoo on his hand and has written many songs dedicated to us. They have also written letters to fans and expressed their gratitude countless times. They are pure love....
Watching reaction videos for past 4 days, I saw 4 or 5 Men crying to Jin’s and coldplay live performance . To be honest at first I thought It just part of the reaction videos like to gather more views but , I cannot ignore all the sincerity of the emotions of all men who cried watching Jin’s performance. I know Jin will be touch knowing many army and other non army felt the message of his song . 💜

It's even more beautiful when you realize it's not even an audience full of bts fans, it's a cold play concert with a lot of bts fans. The music and message however are similar and I think that can be universally appreciated.
selfless, my exact word for both of them. Jin had a live telecast in the morning of the concert day where he mentioned that Chris told him that he can have the stage during the concert. But Jin told him that is their concert and he would not also want to make any speech after his number. But Chris said it would be good for him to say anything. Chris and Coldplay are such beautiful people, inside and out. They really made it a special night for Jin and made his performance as like the finale. We are so grateful for the love and support they give to Jin especially during these times. they are his sweet hyungs. and even after Jin's last belting of I LOVE YOU, it can be seen at the background that Will (drummer) and Guy (guitarist) were clapping for Jin. they are so sweet. And surely, Jin is the happiest. He was just a fan boy since elementary and now he performed with his all-time favorite. Such a dream come true.

Jin’s laugh at the end was one of the most wholesome moments I have ever witnessed. The video for The Astronaut is a must watch. It’s filled with symbolism from beginning to end. The young girl in it represents BTS ARMY. Each time you watch or hear this song it gets harder not to get emotional so please check out the official video.
what makes this so special is that jin has been the biggest fan of coldplay growing up and now he got to share a stage with them before leaving for military.

This 71 yr old Army Grandma Wannabe is crying and happy for Jin that he was given the opportunity by Coldplay to share his love to his fans before leaving us. He looked very happy and accepting whatever his future will be. I'll miss this kid. 😢 💜

i love their relationship so much. Chris is the big brother that Jin doesn't get to have in his own band. Coldplay also shows the staying power of true artists so it's almost like they gave BTS permission to go out & try new things and really be themselves as we head into chapter 2. (and when they giggle together, my heart just soars!)
Just to throw a few facts into the sweetness and enhance it a little... 1. Jin is a HUGE fan of Coldplay, and was the one to wish BTS and CP could collaborate. He said he played their music constantly through the pandemic because it comforted him. 2. He and the guys also were allowed to cover CP's 'Fix You', live, on MTv, and it was the beginning of a marvelous mutual love-and-respect between BTS fans and Coldplay fans (and a lot of overlap between the two.) 3. Chris flew to Korea, during the pandemic, to record 'My Universe' with them, and personally directed the guys in their lyrics. There's a brief behind-scenes documentary about that. 4. Chris actually gifted Jin his own personal stage guitar at that time. (You can see it in the background of 'The Astronaut' MV, along with a lot more Coldplay things.) Chris said, among other things, that 'My Universe' came to him literally out of nowhere and it seemed to be 'the' song for their collab.
Jin has one of the most extraordinary vocal ranges in Korea; that run from chest voice to falsetto doesn't even begin to touch it. We call him the silver voice, and as you hear, he can both croon softly and belt it at full power when the song calls for it. The irony is that his intended career path was to be an actor. He got spotted and scouted for the company, Big Hit, ten+ years ago- had never sung in his life, nor danced, and had to learn both from scratch. He himself tends to downplay his voice as not one of the better ones in the group, which always troubles the fans a bit- he's so critical of himself. We ARMYs are extremely grateful to Coldplay for giving Jin such a sweet and loving song, and for this one last time on stage before he has to leave. 😭

I still can believe, 8 days later, I was there. That day I didnt cried. I wanted to enjoy every second of it. But since then I can't stop crying. It was a once in a lifetime experience and I was there. It is subreal. Like a dream I don't wanna wake up. EVER.
Jin is used to being the "hyung" or oldest in the group but now he has Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay and he becomes their's youngest bro. They are the sweetest.

It's still mind blowing to me that Jin wasn't a singer before BTS.
Jin had to enlist in the military during the summer season(a few months back) but he stayed back only because he wanted to give us that one last performance. He waited so now he will have to endure the harsh winter and go to the military which FYI, not many Korean people would choose to do but he did..that's HOW MUCH he loves and appreciate ARMYS. I legit cried knowing he'd be going through a tougher season at the military only because he chose to stay a little longer with us.
I have watched this far too many ... and each time I see this performance and listen to the music, it goes beyond what it seems. It is about brotherhood in music that knows no language barrier --- but only love and giving and gratitude and beautiful human beings. Thank you, Chris Martin and Coldplay. THANK YOU, KIM SEOKJIN. You remind us how life can be beautiful.
I was at this concert and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. We were all sobbing. The woman next to me was crying so hard she could barely breath. Even Jin teared up at the end. It's hard to say goodbye but we'll always be here for them no matter where their roads lead.

Coldplays relationship with Jin and BTS really is so incredibly special and I'm so grateful to Coldplay for giving this last opportunity to Jin and Army. Did you know the Coldplay concert was sold out months earlier, but they managed to release some extra tickets after the announcement that Jin would be performing so that ARMY could be there for Jin.

Chris Martin and his son sang background vocals when they recorded the song. I know that you prefer live performances. Just commenting to say that the music video is very cinematic, and full of symbolism from Jin to ARMY, as well as to the other members of BTS. Coldplay is also heavily represented, even though they don't feature in the video (though there is an Easter egg cameo). It's a beautiful song; a heartfelt love letter. We are going to miss him/them very much. 💜

Jin's voice has reached a whole new level. He gave his all to make this solo performance of his a performance that will forever be etched in our minds and hearts. I am so happy to see Chris Martin feeling so proud of Jin.
Omg, you are so right, this is an important moment for music. That moment, Jin covering up the tears in his eyes as his voices faulters and he laughs it off (he know this will be the last time till 2025). The moment of two legendary band mates, different cultures, different races, different languages, it just proves, music is more than language. It has brought together millions of people, regardless of sexuality, gender, race, belief and languages. I'm so glad to be alive in a time where BTS and Coldplay are making art and breaking borders like this. It really is a big moment in history for Kpop. No doubt Kpop, in the next few years, will no longer just be Kpop, they'll be recognized as the *International* Groups and Artists they deserve to be. As they are some of the most *amazing* performaners, actors, lyricists, composers and beings on this earth.
I have yet to be able to watch this performance without crying too. Just the amount of emotion that Jin puts into the performance, and the way he leaves absolutely no doubt as to who that last "And I love you" is meant for.
I also love the entire relationship between BTS and Coldplay. At first glance, you'd think it an unlikely pairing - two bands from different genres, generations, and parts of the world. But the more you look, the more you can see that for all their differences, they also hold similar values, themes in their lyrics, and their genuine love and appreciation for their fans that is practically its own entity. I love that the two groups are close enough that Jin *could* call up Chris Martin to help him with this, and that Chris could write this song and know that it was the song Jin needed. I love that Coldplay understood how important it was for Jin to be able to perform this song for a live audience before he starts his military service, and that they invited him to do so on their concert stage.

Jin has been a Coldplay fan since he was a boy and in a 2017 interview he said his dream would be to collaborate with them some day. I love that Jin's dream came true and I sense that Jin and Chris Martin have developed a true friendship that will bring joy to both of their lives in the years to come. Both BTS and Coldplay have a similar outlook on life, doing their best to live a life of gratitude and to give back to their fans who have blessed them and supported them. First of all JIN is a big fanboy of coldplay. He first insisted to cover one of Coldplay s'song 'Fix you' the song sung by bts is so amazing!! Don't forget to check that & After a year Jin had idea of doing a Collab with coldplay & wrote a personal heartfelt letter to CM...for a Collab from there their friendship of Jin & Bts started. CM always adores Jin so much in all his interviews he will mentionbJin as Worldwide handsome 🥰 by saying he is the one who started this amazing Collab. Also CM gave his most precious guitar for Jin..... It's one of his great moment for jin 🥺💜

I was casual listener of Coldplay but after My Universe it changed. I started to listen to more of their music and know a bit more about them, about Chris. After this performance i absolutely love Chris and Coldplay. This one stage told me about them more than everything I've red. They are beautiful humans with beautiful souls. 💜

bts never really had any senior group to look up to. they were always alone in all this - they are the first and so far the only group to be this successful from korea, so naturally they are the first ones to experience all this so there was never anyone around to guide them in the west, and in their worldwide success in general. not to even mention that only one member in the whole group is fluent in english. they were always subjected to so much prejudice, racism and xenophobia. so to see a legendary band like coldplay be there for them and be able to give them words of reassurance is so beautiful to see. i’m so happy that chris is there for them, and for jin. it’s truly such a special bond💜
Honestly I can resonate with that journey so much, you feel alone trying to gather a fanbase for so long and you just keep pushing forward believing you’ll “make it” …I think that’s what draws me to them and their performances. I love any artist that loves their fanbase to the ends of the earth LOL

My most favourite part was when Jin ran to Chris who had his arms wide open ready to give Jin a hug. Oh, I melt every time I see that shot! 💜💜

Seeing Jin performing with so much joy on stage with his idols was everything. You could almost literally feel his emotions through the screen, especially with that last “And I love you.” As many have expressed, ARMYs can’t thank Chris and Coldplay enough for embracing our precious Kim Seokjin and all of BTS. I watched this live on the cinema, when I tell you I cried my *ss off! I couldn't stop! Jin is just such a wholesome human being, along with Chris they're both so pure and amazing. Chris's words made me cry so bad, and then Jin came on stage and I lost it. He literally flew to rhe other side of the world just to say "Goodbye and I love you" to us, he's that type of artist. Thank you for this reaction and for informing yourself about the song beforehand. I really like your reactions!
I've been a Coldplayer for a long time and I must admit that I didn't like My Universe very much because the rap part doesn't convince me. When I heard of a new collaboration with BTS I thought it would be another song similar to My Universe and well it was only left to accept it, but when they mentioned that it would be with the member who sings best in that group then things changed because Jin would give another color to the collaboration due to his excellent voice (the cover of FIX YOU made it clear).
This song is undoubtedly the best collaboration decision Chris had related to BTS and since it's different from My Universe, it makes it something much better because it's a style that we Coldplayers love.
I'm not saying that My Universe is bad but that The Astronaut is a thousand times superior and clearly Jin's voice is perfect for this type of song.
If Chris is going to collaborate with BTS again, I hope it will be with Jin who is the best voice he has and is suitable to sing this style.
Also, Jin had only one line that was never used again so I'm happy that they got to collaborate together again. :)

@@guerrillastan but in the AMA awards last year when they performed live MU you could clearly hear Jin in the chorus.
All I know is I'm saving my money for when BTS tour again after they are all done with their military service in 2025, I was cheated out of seeing them in Chicago in 2020 because of the pandemic. I wish Jin and all the members of BTS nothing but the best while they are in the military.
I'll always be grateful to chris for giving jin such a masterpiece like "the astronaut" and inviting him to his concert to enjoy his last moments performing this song.

Chris all smiles, guiding n supporting him to ensure Jin has the best time of his life on that stage before his leave for military obligation. Jin looked great n his nervousness without his members all gone with Chris giving him all the confidence. Amaziiìng performance n very emotional. I cried buckets.
