Quick maths really isn't Pala's strong suit. He tries to hypes up what he thinks is a killing blow when he sees big numbers (and is way off). He's dead silent when decisive damage is dealt and brings a player to zero. It's so weird as a listener to be led to get excited about something mundane, and then getting a delayed reaction after something exciting occurs.
They should have something on the screen that only the casters can see that immediately indicates whether there is a knockout or not so they can get the calls right.
agreed, Toby's commentary is so much more insightful and entertaining, with Pala just feels like he's rambling filler the entire time with 0 clue what's going on
why do they insist on having a commentator that knows nothing about the game, would be intriguing to hear rainbolt and another pro discuss and commentate the matches
i'm gonna disagree with you on that, i think its more entertaining when one of them is regular guy. And it's like he's representing us on something that we dont know about, like location etc, know what i mean?
Maybe but it's hard to have a pro that can commentate well even if they do it's not gonna feel good to hear as a viewer it's just gonna be a conversation and not to entertain
when i saw crookst i thought i recognised his name. and then zi8gzag started talking about minecraft speedrunning and i realised that i watched his speedruns like a year ago
Please get someone else in for Pala. Toby is soo much better. Pala is hard to listen to, open about the fact that he has no idea about the game, just blabbers generic filler text the entire time. I skip the rounds with him and only watch when Toby is on.
Pala is not good. He needs to go. Tobi actually seems interested in what he's watching and is relatively prepared. Pala doesn't even attempt to hide the fact he doesn't know anything or care.
Yeah dude is super annoying. He also mispronounced Gelotris like a billion times in the face of CG repeatedly demonstrating the correct pronunciation for him.
it still sounds like hes never looked at a map before, only just shouting on hype moments and making random analogies. He doesnt need to be a pro, but just a basic understanding of the game would help a lot with his commentating.
@@andresbaraujo Right, I came across that in an earlier tournament, it seems to be when they zoom in all the way very early on. I still haven't learned why they call it that, though.
Can sb please explain Madas Turkey Guess? He did see a part of a white car and did know: "This can't be Spain."? I do see 3 white cars on the pic and - why can't white cars be in Spain, but in Turkey? I'm cinfused, please help. 😅
Hi he's not talking abt the cars on the side of the road, but the google car itself that drove to take the street view photos Mada saw at the bottom of the picture a slight white colour of the driving google car 🙂
The inconsistent wait time before each round because the casters are still analyzing or talking is so freaking annoying. There should be different people casting and controlling the game.
@CollectorsTree-ge6zy The maps aren't completely random, they're "built" especially for these competitions, however Rainbolt isn't a mapper in this case.
I think increasing multiplier is fine up to a point as it makes end game more tense and demanding while giving the players somewhat an easier start, but yeah it gets ridiculous in this format towards the end
If Pala became knowledgeable at geoguessr, he would loose his function. It's necessary to have a host that keeps asking the right questions for the casual audience to be able to follow
@@dariocaporuscio8701 I didn't hate it, he is at least very enthusiastic but I think it'd be nice for him to know just a little bit more about the game he's commenting. I get he is like audience surogate a bit, but still I felt he is a bit clueless on what's going on at all times. Though gotta admit he does not stamble and definitely he's very experienced caster and it's good to hear. Best mix for me was with Oscar who was both entertaining and lead the audience on his casting rounds a bit better than Trevor, who would not give you a split second to think for yourself
Question: was there a pre-quali to this quali? I’m surprised there are no African or Middle-Eastern countries here. Can I suggest that perhaps next year the best African player and the best Middle Eastern player at least gets a bye even if he/she is not in the top 16? I know it’ll suck for whoever is 15th and 16th in Europe but if we as a community are for inclusivity, it should happen. Can we also ensure at least the number one female (or who identifies as female) player gets an invite too, at the expense perhaps of the 14th? Again, for inclusivity reasons. Please, nontoxic replies, this is a safe space.
That’s a great idea! We should as a community be about inclusivity, not a fair chance for all the competitors. To go a step farther, I think there should be 21 first place awards, one for each guy, girl, and non binary person from each continent :-)
Thanx a million Geoguessr. Many improvements are made. We finally see every single encounter. Great to see uprising European talents. Let's make them talk. Still some adjustments of casters are essential: Which we need to focus on: If you evaluate a spectrum of reactions: you may assume Trevor still basically transports the highest dedication to spirit, community, intelligence and game, by most interesting contributed commentary. CG and Z8 need more practise. First I was excited to see a Pala alternative, but Toby unfortunately fails for different reasons. He appears too invasive, loud, not just his tonality, but although his too long sentences, which cut off too much, and very often too much repeat basics. It feels disturbing. He is getting a bit better and lands some jokes but I would prefer a new test in Asia to get best choices made in Stockholm City Hall: Get Landers or Bloom back - OR - why don't we try a simple average player, ambitious and dedicated, fun in a sarcastic or ironic way, some confident, educated, charming representation of the female community of Geogussr, which is not afraid to contribute with deeper question and let Trevor narrow it down or leave it open. thank you for your attention and keep up the good work !
I liked Zigzag better than rainbolt to be fair, he at least gives you some time to think about the country and it better at teaching clues to an audience while commenting
