Bought this in June 2019 for my daughter. It cost $40 then. She loves it! Can’t believe how much more it costs now! Wow! Thanks for the review!

I bought one and after 1 year, my son broke the leather on the speaker, the seller sent me a brand new one! And the sound is so great with my turntable

The video quality is surprisingly good for an old flip phone. The last flip phone I had made a potato look like a DSLR. 😆

A FLIP Video camera? VWestlife will be so proud! 😃 That speaker does have a nice retro look to it. Anyway, love those old-school physical controls on that speaker. Get actual tactical feedback when actually pressing a button or flipping a switch, as opposed to all these things that uses touch controls these days. As for the sound quality, that microphone on that FLIP camera is not doing that speaker any justice. Really bright and tinny sounding with a lot of sibilince on the video. The speaker appears to actually sound pretty decent with some decent bass, from what I can tell, but would be nice to actually hear it through a much better microphone. Something you might want to consider. If testing and demoing speakers, invest in a GOOD microphone for such purposes. Of course, nothing will be the same as actually hearing it in person.

I don’t think he was using a microphone to play music.

@@philbrown5516 I am talking using a GOOD microphone to do the in-room recording when demonstrating speakers. The cheap, crap, microphone on that FLIP camera is not doing anything justice here. Since he tends to demonstrate a lot of speakers via in-room recording, such as reviewing one of those suitcase players, then should use a good quality microphone to do that, to try to eliminate as much microphone bias as much as possible from the sound, so we can get a better representation of what the speaker he is demonstrating actually sounds like. Of course there is still going to be the video compression, and then the limitations of the speakers the video is being listened to. In my case, I am using a very high-end audio system to watch these on, with speakers and amplification that are more than likely to be far superior to anything that has ever been shown on this channel.

They really got inspired by the Marshall Killburn or Stanmore. 🤭

Busting out the flip...That's hysterical. My son dug out our Kodak Zi8. Which was the flips competitor back in the day, first one to have 1080p i believe, for those handheld video recorders... Him and his friends have been having a blast with it .. .... On to bluetooth speakers.... We need a new one and I've been enamored by those retro radio ones I see a Targe, hand and hearth I do believe.. .all the time just wondering if you come across the quality of those they...look so cool

Interesting! I also have a Sony Bloggie that does 1080p.

I've had this same exact speaker for 3 years now and i can honestly say that speaker THUMPS. I just have to find a turntable with Bluetooth of decent quality that can give me good sound quality.

I had a flip camera back in the day. I recall it looking pretty good, but perhaps there's some rose-colored glasses on my memory? This kind of looked notably grainy on my old 720p TV, and the color is kind of muddy? Still, it's nice to visit our old toys this way.

I noticed there’s no bass I like it but that’s a red flag for me overall looks great on the size I think they.can improve the sound quality by adding the bass

In reality there is great bass - the mic didnt pick that all up.

The frequency response is the worst on this speaker than most others I've shopped for.

Looks like a clone/knockoff of my SoundLogic CLBS-6/6737 Bluetooth speaker that I purchased a number of years ago, the only difference being the port on the back of the SoundLogic is in the center and the port on the Tewell is offset towards one side. The SoundLogic has decent sound, but my vintage look Klipsch The One blows it away.
