    If a small cab with a 6' bed is not offered, the biggest problem with small trucks will still remain. Fuel efficient small work trucks for solo drivers getting to and from jobs, carrying their materials and tools don't need seating for 4-5 people. Bed space for stuff is much more valuable than passenger space. Make it happen for the workers of the world.

      Exactly!! I'm a handyman and need a small fuel efficient truck for work. Not every work truck needs to be massive, but it needs to have a useful bed. Instead, working men are fighting over beat up 30 year old Rangers! It's crazy!

      I think the Frontier has become the new cheapish work truck. Still not cheap, but its a real work truck.

      These company's no longer build what you want. They are building what they want you to buy.

      @@kevinmontgomery1383 And If that is True then they won't meet their sales expectations. Companies have to build what consumers really want, to really succeed.

      The problem is that truck manufacturers all believe that everybody wants pickups that are essentially SUVs with an open luggage compartment. The crew cab may be the thing for suburban dads who want a pickup but need space for the whole family, but it's not for everybody.

    How are truck manufacturers not getting it?! REGULAR CAB AND LONG BED!!!! So many of us hardworking guys need a small truck FOR WORK!

      Seriously! I’ve been saying this. They need to come standard with 6 foot and can option 7 foot with access cab. I don’t need a behemoth luxury truck. I need a dependable work truck with good MPG

      You will not likely ever find this in a small pickup. They can’t keep up on demand for the current configuration, and a long bed unibody would be I am sure more complicated than shortening the cab and lengthening the box. Go for a midsize they are body on frame more of a work truck platform and that’s what they were designed for. I am sure Ford looked at options when they designed the Maverick they thought of the best options for sales and keeping the price favorable

    If it comes in manual I will buy one 100%
    I've been wanting something that has a shorter wheel base, something that does well in real Canadian winters as I only want to own 1 vehicle, and something fairly rugged as I like to take my vehicle out to go fishing, camping, maybe take a mild off road trail.
    The Jeep and the Bronco both feel like they have no real room for bigger guys with wider shoulders, My arm feels pinned against the door, just a bit too cramped, mostly because they are so focused on real off roading where you want the cab to be narrow. I'm not trying to rock crawl, I just want to have a little fun without bottoming out over something little.
    This concept of what the stout would look like looks perfect. Just make it wide enough and in manual and they have a sale 100%
    Don't wait too long Toyota, my Tundra is racking up the km's and I want to trade it in while I still can instead of making a private sale.

    Did they say body on frame? That is interesting.

  • @Ljw48
    @Ljw48 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If this is ever built close to what you have said you would be lucky if it’s under $35k. It looks more like in the Ranger class than the Maverick and with body on frame way more money to build.

    If they allow Grumman or airstream build an aluminum body, they may just have something worthwhile. Im tired of rustbuckets that dent when a baby accidentally taps the cheezy tin body's sends you to the body shop for a fleecing. Just put a 300 straight 6 cylinder truck motor in it that the owner can maintain without using a computer. These expensive drivetrains afe driving insurance rates to astronomical levels.

  • @ChiTownTx

    God I hope it (or any truck) gets offered without a crew cab. It's damn near impossible to find a truck that's not a four door on the lot these days. The worst part is the backseats take up space for no real reason. They are useless to seat anyone other than small children.

    I’ll believe it when a Toyota representative ones out and says they are developing the Stout. As a Lincoln owner, I am looking for a vehicle that is utilitarian, yet refined. Is it possible?!?!?!

  • @RedSinter
    @RedSinter 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yes, it may have those really excellent features unfortunately there's no way it's going to come in as inexpensive on model levels as the Maverick. If it looks anything like the butt ugly looks you are projecting I'm likely not going to bite. The weird and overwrought front eye brow lights make me want to gag. The Ev version however is exceedingly aesthetically pleasing. It's design language is very attractive. Toyota should turn the language over to the US Design House responsible for the Ev version we've seen. And the evidence for their failure is this years Tundra revamping it's appearance.
