Reading Lessons sound like it would be really interesting. Books are never clutter! 😉
brotherless night I've read and am very enthusiastic about it...
Your comments on these books are very interesting and informative. Thanks for making the effort.
Reading Lessons sounds amazing! Another amazing collection of titles, per usual 😃
Yeah, I think it’ll be really interesting reading about the responses she’s had to certain books. 😊📚
Thank you, Eric! My never ending list keeps growing & growing 🤫 & all I need is more time, lots of it & a no restriction bank account🙃🤣
All Things are Too Small is on my list, although I really don’t need any encouragement to accumulate too much stuff…
Just finished reading All the World Besides by Garrard Conley. Good read
Im currently listening to Brotherless Night and it’s very affecting. Especially as a mother and a sister who lived through conflict here and worried about family safety.
My new book purchases at Easter ( I swapped chocolate for books)
And Then She Fell
The Maiden
The Night Ship
The Wrong End of the Telescope
Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow
The City of the Living
Juno loves Legs
Great, I'm glad you're reading it now too. And what a good idea - when I was young I loved that my parents got me little Easter baskets which had some chocolates but also a few books! I just finished reading And Then She Fell and I have very mixed feelings about it. I'll be keen to hear what you think.
I'm planning to read Brotherless Night on audio with my next audible credit, really good to hear you enjoyed the book this way 🙂
About a decade ago I happened on The Heaven Tree Trilogy - Edith Pargeter's epic (sadly out of print) 1960's historical work. IMHO it equalled Follett's Pillars of the Earth on every level.
Reading Lessons sounds great. It's not published in the U.S. yet so I just ordered the U.K. edition. Can't wait to get it. Thank you!
You are probably one of the most wholesome person I follow. Now reading Shogun, but im going to pick up one of your recommendations next
Thanks, Eric!🌷I’m now intrigued by The Axeman’s Carnival and Caledonian Road. I hope you’ll take us on a vlog tour of the London areas described by Andrew O’Hagan😊
I absolutely lllooovvveeeeeed Brotherless Night. I’ve read the Woman’s Prize long list and for me, this was by far the best of them all. We’re all different because I’ve seen a post from someone though who didn’t love it. I found this book very well written and also very interesting. I hope you love it like I did
That’s great to hear you’re championing it! I’m looking forward to it even more now.
Brotherless Night is my favourite from the list so far and currently of the year too ❤ I hope you enjoy it Eric.
How cool that you got to go to the RuPaul’s book launch ❤️
Oh wow! That’s great to hear. Hope I’ll connect with it as much as you have.
Brotherless Night is vying for my top favourite read this year, I've read quite a few novels about Sri Lanka and this has a slightly different take that I enjoyed, difficult subject matter but handled with care by the author.
The Axeman's Carnival is already on my radar, I have it on reserve at the library. I've just put The Library Thief on my library reserve list, looks like HF fun.
Love a book about books, I'll be keeping an eye out for Reading Lessons. Thanks Eric!
Brotherless night is hard, sad to read😢but beautifully written
Caledonian Road is 'in transit' to my library, and I used to live in Islington, so I'm really looking forward to getting into that🙂
oh my such great books! cannot wait for your thoughts :)
I'm really looking forward to reading The Library Thief, I love historical fiction set in this time period and was disappointed that I didn't enjoy The Maiden recently, my worst read among many wonderful one's this year so far. So many of these books sound intriguing, I was really pleased to watch this just after a great charity shop haul when I picked up a brand new hard back copy of Andrew O' Hagen's Mayflies, and also of The List of Suspicious Things which I'm looking forward to getting to after reading your review of that one 😊
Nearly finished Caledonian Road. As an ex NorthLondoner, have been loving it, but hey, it is over 600 pages
Levitation for Beginners added to my TBR 👀
You will enjoy Caledonian Road it superb and will go further than your expectations.
The gentleman from Peru is so good too
Haven't listened yet, just checked the list of books and saw Zyta Rudzka and got super happy! You are awesome! Just finished "To paradise" by Hanya Yanagihara ( I think it is a masterpiece, 10 out of 10, no questions asked etc) and checked your video about it from 2 years ago😜😜😜
I'm currently reading brotherless night on audio... Have 3 hours left...if asked to rate it at this point it would be 3.8... It's a heavy book.
The unsettled is on my tbr.. Would like to hear your thoughts....
Now you're costing me money. Just pre-ordered Two Hours as well.
Just ordered Caledonian Road 🙌 I would love to know your favourite novel of all time Eric (if its ever possible to only have one)
Ah great! Hope you enjoy it! I do have a favourite novel and it’s The Waves by Virginia Woolf. 🌊 I finally made a video about my passion for it last year: th-cam.com/video/FyzYvqltJKk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
There are so many great sounding books here. I am really eager to read Caledonian Road and have heard a lot of good things about All Things Are Too Small. And of course Reading Lessons sounds like something all book lovers should read. Brotherless Nights is quite worthy. Some great reading ahead!
I would much rather hear about books you have read please
Did you watch the video I posted last week in which I discuss 12 books that I read last month: th-cam.com/video/1IG1t31G6ss/w-d-xo.html - to ensure I don't waste your time, be aware that any video labelled 'book haul' will mostly be about books I've not read yet.
The moment I understood Marie kondo wasn't for me was when I heard her recommend we should tear our favourite pages of our books and dispose of the rest of them. Obviously the woman isn't a reader and besides that I'm a maximalist through and through and very happy with it.
She said what?! 😮
An actual monster
Thanks for letting me know. She's not on my reading list anymore.
