Revolution 909 by daft punk is one of my favourites It takes a girl leaving a rave encountering a cop, and she notices there’s a sauce stain on his shirt. Then the rest of the music video shows a tomato growing, being harvested and processed, being sold in a store, being bought and cooked into a pasta sauce, then it shows how the cop spilled sauce on his shirt. It’s the best kind of weird

Baby Keem - Hooligan is a great video for a great song. It’s simple, but it’s so dope how he has models rapping the song while he is sitting there with a disinterested expression on his face.
False Alarm by The Weeknd is my personal favorite. Super creative work with a drone plus the first person POV they used for the whole thing, with action happening at all the right times. It’s something straight out of a video game almost.

*Tranz (Gorillaz)* - the character design in the animation is absolutely unreal. The fictional band members of 2D, Hobbs, Noodle, and Ace have wildly different looks and demeanors, perfectly encapsulating the look of a band that's been through the machine and is hitting their breaking point as a group. *After the Storm (Kali Uchis)* - I almost have nothing to say about this video besides how vibrant and expressive the art direction is. Both extravagant and casual, and makes me feel the air of springtime in my soul. *Rattlesnake (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard)* - The greenscreen and visual effects of this video are so lackluster and dated-looking, even after just 4 years, that I can't help but absolutely love it. It looks like one of the band members got his brother to make a music video in their garage in under 2 hours, and encapsulates the goofy charm of the band wordlessly. *Let It Happen (Tame Impala)* I don't think I can think up a music video that fills me with more of a sense of dread than this one, picturing a businessman dying of an overdose in an airport. It's one of the trippiest, most cerebral, terrifying things I've ever seen. *Harder Better Faster Stronger (Daft Punk)* No need to explain why this one is great. Everyone knows it. The animation sequence is gorgeous and perfectly represents the sense of progress and improvement that themes the song. *Still Feel (Half Alive)* Possibly the best choreography I've ever seen in a music video. Nothing else to say, it's just so smooth and charming. *Just a Cloud (Lusine)* This one is amazingly simple and effective. We see an introverted girl listening to synthwave on the bus in the dead of winter, and it's the moodiest thing you've ever seen. Oh, and then she sees god.
There is a well known song called Baby I’m Yours by Breakbot and I think the video just makes me want to dance. It fits the sing so well and it is animated. The song is well known but people don’t know where it’s from exactly and I hope you can see/hear this song. BTW it is from an oldish tiktok meme and that is where people might know it’s from
ariana grande's god is a woman and no tears left to cry are some of the best pop music videos of the last decade. some of my favorites also include MJ's thriller, travis' sicko mode and beyoncé’s formation

BTW it is from an oldish tiktok meme and that is where people might know it’s from
virtual insanity music video is just phenomenal
otis reading, that music video with jayz and kanye is iconic and legendary, them cutting up a Maybach and drifting it around is a iconic shoot
Benjamin Clementine's "I won't complain" is absolutely haunting. He is kind of a haunting guy in general
DVNO by Justice is one of my favourites. The neverending buildup of logos referencing the lyrics is so satisfying.
ariana grande's god is a woman and no tears left to cry are some of the best pop music videos of the last decade. some of my favorites also include MJ's thriller, travis' sicko mode and beyoncé’s formation
facts
ooo taste i see? nah but fr god is a woman is such a masterpiece, you can tell how thought out the music video is
Formation is pure genius, but then again, Melina Matsoukas is one of the greatest music video directors of all time. There's really only Hype Williams, Jonas Åkerlund and Sophie Muller at her level.
People don’t give One Last Time’s video enough credit either.
was hoping you’d mention OK Go. i was obsessed with their music videos as a kid
My Machines by Battles ft. Gary Numan deserves a mention. I've never seen a man fall down the escalator for 4 minutes before.
Walk in the park live is also pretty cool, love his intensity.
Awesome video! As someone who has loved music videos since before MTV existed- HBO's Video Jukebox, anyone? - I really appreciated this. Also, glad to see Frontier Psychiatrist.
The kids turned out fine by A$ap rocky is a great music video
Black Hole Sun is prolly my favorite music video, the effects are very outdated but it still holds up to today
this is so random and i'm not even really a bts fan or anything but I've never been more shook than when I saw their Blood Sweat Tears Japanese music video - watch it high I dare you
That and anything by Tyler the Creator
Pulps "Do you remember the first time" and LCD Soundsystems "Disco Infiltrator" are my two faves
The video for Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé is absolutely iconic. Beyoncé breaks Gaga out of prison and then they proceed to drive around the desert in a yellow truck with flames painted on it called 'The Pussy Wagon' and poisoning and enitire roadside diner. I guarantee you it will be the most enthralling 7 minutes of your life
Tarantino’s car from Kill Bill
I always just imagine my own visuals for Frontier Psychiatrist and never thought to actually look for a music video. Thanks for that and all the other recommendations.
I've always loved the music video for "once in a lifetime" by Talking Heads. The video feels hypnotic and so entertaining. He preforms gestures and ritual like actions like a speaker at a church or holy place would preform. Its an all around great video in my opinion.
A music video that I'll *NEVER* forget is Busta Rhymes' video for Gimme Some More.
That blue gremlin scarred me!
