Homemade Lathe machine / Tailstock # Old design

I created a piece to fix a flaw that the previous one couldn't make. It is stability and strength. This is a new work that I have made. I can't find the best materials for this. The appearance of the workpiece will be something like this. It's not pretty, but it's guaranteed to be strong.
