Hi Dr. Russ. Well your video inspired me to get out my P1322. It is amazing how accurate it is. I went overboard on it. I bought a scope mount and put a Burris 3-12x32 parallax adjustment pistol scope on it.. Bought walnut target grips looks great. I pump mine 6 times. Thank you for bringing that pistol back into my mind. I really like my woods walker one of my favorite guns just to plink with.
Back in the early 1960s I bought the Crossman pump up .22 pistol at Montgomery Wards for $14. It was cheap and had simple iron sights but it was so incredibly accurate. I could pick off small Dixie cups all day long at 50 feet. I noticed that by five years later they had put target sights on the same pistol and sold it as a highly regarded target gun. They also tripled the price. It's interesting that this same design is still sold 60 years later.
Welcome back, we missed you. My wife and I were worried you were I’ll or gave up on the channel. Love my modified 1322. It’s a workhorse for backyard ratting. Got it upgraded with the steel breech to accommodate a scope and also put on the 14 inch barrel and shoulder stock to make a micro carbine. So much more accurate and the longer barrel upped the velocity. God bless and have a very Merry Christmas Ted & Cassandra
Ed ... hopefully this message reaches you... it appears that an earlier one did not. Glad to hear that your modified 1322 has been good to you ... please keep us in your info loop... Dr. Russ
Hello old friend it's been awhile, good to see you still are teaching people about our sport. After my wife's passing I needed some time to "breathe again." But I'm back and will show you my full support and thank you again for the wonderful channel. Btw you lost weight my friend and say hi to hollow head for me .
Aly ... You always have our prayers as a widower who has lost his helpmate. It is good to hear from you again... please share your air gun experiences when the wind and snow isn't flying... Dr. Russ
Thank you for the video... Sitting down, I hold the 1322 upside down on my lap, Hold the grip pointing upward and pump with my other hand using my lap to support the 1322. There are way too many parts you can buy for this 1322 including German barrels and honed out air cylinders, Larger transfer port tube,,, etc etc
George Gandara ... thank you ... and it is great to get a Christmas wish from you .... please stay in touch.... while we didn't launch any videos in November or the first two weeks of December due to Dr. Paula catching Covid, we are launching now into our fifth year .... and hope to share some good info that you find helpful... Dr. Russ
Excellent video Dr. as usual. I'm 73 & just started air-gunning a couple of years ago. I own the same model Crossman pistol you demonstrated today and a Gamo whisper 10x gen 1 rifle as well. I just discovered your channel a week ago & love it.Your videos are an excellent source of knowledge for the novice as well as the experienced air-gunner. Thanks to you I have found that I'm just getting my guns broke in or leaded in is the correct term. Good advice at the end of this video by the way. Thanks
Thank you so much, Dr. Russ. Your videos have done so much for me and my love of airguns. In addition, your reminder to us (U.S.?) of the real meaning of Christmas literally brought me to tears. Thank you very much for all you are and all you do. To borrow a phrase, "What you have done in this life will echo throughout eternity."
Good to hear from you Michael White... and thanks for the compliment ... Dr. Paula and I have some good videos coming this year... and hope that you find value in them... Dr. Russ
Great to see you back! I’ve definitely missed your videos - I hope all is well! Finding the “complete” air pistol has been a challenge for me. I like the idea of the multi-pump or break-barrel style pistols because there is no need for any air source - plus larger caliber pcp pistols like the Evanix Viper or the forthcoming Huben GK-1 are pricey! The trouble is finding one that packs enough of a punch that it could be used for small game hunting or a last resort defense pistol for people without access to firearms.i wish they made the Benjamin Trail NP pistol in a larger caliber than .177 - that’s as close as I’ve come in the breakbarrel pistol world. Maybe it’s time I give one of these a try!
Azrag ... it is good to hear from you ... and thanks for the Happy Holidays wish. We were unable to launch any new videos in November and half of December, when Dr. Paula came down with Covid... but we plan to launch many in 2024 ... and hopefully some that you find helpful. Dr. Russ
@@russjones6497 I hope Dr.paula gets feeling better sir! I know from watching you experience not many like you & your Paula I enjoy watching you not to make things sound odd but you resemble my pop our father was very smart man I tell my brothers watch Dr.Russ & Dr Paula he's like our father with his Golf clubs cars etc very smart knowledgeable with these as with you and helpful with passing great experience with air guns I'm addicted enjoy buying cleaning learning watching buying did i say buying i have new PCP I just never shot them one thing leading to the other keeping me from but I say tomorrow and so on? I just enjoy collecting them but I find it as a hobby fun as well and thank you for videos I hope you guys have a safe fun new year ! Stay strong sir Happy New Year Merry Christmas always good seeing y'all's videos thank you
I use 1377 with crosman shoulder stock. Sometimes with an old weaver 4 times magnification scope or without the scope using the peep sight. At 17 yards with the peep sight I regular hit a spinner target with 3/4” diameter. With the scope I hit similar size spinners at 20 to 25 yards. Mind at these ranges my BSA rifles perform better. My guns have to conform to the UK laws on power so the crosman shoots below 6 foot pound and the rifles shoot below 12 foot pound of energy. Regarding rifled barrels BSA’s cold forged hammered barrels are superb.
Hey doc I've been waiting for your videos for a while now but I'm glad you are back and okay .I'm going for my first pcp air rifle and was wondering what your thoughts are on the senica eagle claw in 22 cal and what is the best hand pump for the rifle in your opinion, thanks
Thank you Dr Russe for the great video overview and your willingness to address the Christ child at this time of our Christian calendar. I was starting to think that something had happen to you or Dr Paula because I had not seen your new post lately. Merry Christmas to you and Paula. BTW, I have had my Crosman pistol for about 43 years and I love it for managing squirrels that want to chew on my deck wood. I added the shoulder stock to my pistol about 35 years ago and I can get about 30 feet quite regularly.
John ... it is always good to hear from you .... We didn't launch any videos during November and half of December as Dr. Paula recovered from Covid.... and I learned how much she was responsible for... we have a number of videos planned for 2024 and hopefully some that you find helpful. Merry Christmas ... Dr. Russ
Hey Doc, I see I wasn't the only one of your viewers wondering where you've been, and glad to see you back. We look forward to more. I've got a box stock 1322, but would like to upgrade the sights. My eyes are still good enough at pistol range for chipmunks with the right sights. I'm interested to see what you do with yours. I scoped a Marauder pistol, but it is just too cumbersome to shoot well off hand with a 2 handed grip. We appreciate your Christmas message. I'll pass it along to the kids and grandkids. Here's wishing you and the family a very nice Christmas too.
Tom ... it is good to hear from you again. We were unable to launch any videos in November and half of December as Dr. Paula recovered from her Covid and I learned just how much help she was responsible for ... We plan to launch many in 2024 and hopefully some that you find helpful... Dr. Russ
Crosman 1399 shoulder stock will fit into the strike point grip. You have to cut the S.P. grip off using a dremel and you have to drill another hole in the stock since the S.P. grip has 2 screws 😊
King ... it is good to hear from you ... we were not able to launch any videos in November and half of December when Dr. Paula came down with Covid.... but she is well again and we have quite a few good videos to launch in 2024. Hopefully some that you find helpful. Dr. Russ
Honestly, I just got the umarex first for my kids because it's a smoothbore and I wanted to let them shoot darts. Getting the Crossman for myself and will do the upgrades. I debated on the tavox or whatever it was, but there's no stock for it.
Fortunately Al ... you dont see that hair when I get up each morning. It takes quite a bit to get it presentable. Thanks for the compliment.... Dr. Russ
If you practice with 5 pumps won't the point of impact be different at 10 pumps? Then when you go hunting at 10 pumps after practicing wit 5 pumps you may miss or injure the animal. I haven't used the uramex but I do have the 1322 and love it , it has a lot of upgrades on power and accessories available online.
Mountain Island ... you bring up a good point. The point of impact is slightly different at 10 yards between 5 and 10 pumps. I will make this clear when I do a followup video on these two air guns after a few mods ... thanks again... Dr. Russ
