    tip: when securing the pillow blocks, use nylon lock nuts instead of normal nuts to compensate for vibration from the engine

    Hey dude make sure you drill a little indent so the your set screws will stay tight longer. As you may won't to use lock washers. For the same reason. It is looking great. Nice work. Thanks. Bob

    Hi Eric, I know this is an older video, but I was wondering how you attached the back wheels to the axle, and also where I could find good wheels other than the ones listed in the parts list. My budget is sort of tight, so I'm ok with lower end wheels. BTW I already have the front wheels.

    Hey,
    I was wondering about the back wheels. So the wheel on the left side with the sprocket, does it have bearings or does it mount directly to the axle? And did you use a key to mount it to the axle?

  • @evanzhang6840
    @evanzhang6840 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    One more question, I noticed the link for the wheel and tire combo does not work anymore. Is there another link because I have been trying to find another wheel tire combo, but every one I found either did not have a little cut for the key stock, or it was too small.

    Hey Eric, I plan to build this go kart over this summer, but I have one question. Since I don't have any tools to cut metal... can I replace the metal tubing with like a piece of 2x4 wood? Or are does it have to be metal? Also if it does have to be metal, what tools can I use to cut metal, I am kinda a rookie with metal. Thanks for your help! Oh and one more question, will the boards that the engine is directly connected to burn? I would think that the heat from the engine would burn the wood, or am I just being over cautious!!

    A better way to mount the engine is to use a metal gokart motor mount. There are two main kinds commonly available, flat and flat with lips on the edge. Cut out an opening slightly smaller than the motor mount you're using and mount it over the hole. with bolts on both ends. Another idea for front steering is cut the forks off a bicycle and mount the forks and wheel to the front and you have a trike.

    is there any other option for steering besides using your feet? Could you attach a steering wheel some how? Your videos are amazing, and I would like if you could respond. Thanks

    • @vinnydesarno249

      You can attach a steering wheel, but you have to change the design a little bit. You could buy a sttering column, tie rods, and a spindle kit and easily do it.
