I really struggle to draw recently. It may or may not be because I doubt myself constantly. I saw this video like a week ago and every day I had this nagging urge to watch it again and make the shepherdess appear in my sketchbook also. If it wasn't for you I'd probably sit and think "I should start drawing again" for another month or two (or three). Thank you for that.
@@sarahweimar2804 I think they’re a good foundation - you could try his patreon atelier tier for a month and see how you get on? Different things work for different people so I’d recommend trying a few different teachers and approaches til you figure out what works for you. Good luck!
I'm just starting to take learning to draw seriously. i love videos like this that shows me the entire process you take on drawing. I'll stick with the first 4 minutes for now 😅
Wonderful video! i could watch it in real time and still be blissfully content! Lovely to watch you sketching & doing exercises to help hone your eye and improve your skills!! 💞
This is such a good relaxing helpfull video! also am i the only one that sees the girl as if she is standing towars us for a split second. idk how to describe it but instead of her back my brain sees it as her chest , and then it look scary omg
@@eisaanader386 haha I had the exact same experience afterward 😂 Ive probably got one of the proportions off. Now no one else will be able to unsee it 👀👀
You’re welcome! yes lot’s more similar videos is the plan 😊 - thinking of doing some more instructional ones on basic tips/approaches but there’s so many out there I’m not sure! watch this space!
Fantastic!!! I came across with this video, and actually it's everything I need to watch. You've got a bew subscriber! 😊 Do you know if there is another app that does the same job as this Apple one? I do not have any Apple device. Thank you so much!
Glad you liked the video 😃! I’m sure there are apps that will allow you to overlay photos on your device but unfortunately I don’t have an android phone so can’t recommend one - if you Google apps for overlaying photos im sure there will be some good ones out there 👍🏻
late update: pixlr will let you do this! you want Tobias up your ref photo in the app - then go to tools then double exposure and select the photo of your artwork. the. you can bump the transparency up and down to overlay the photo.
How do you like your Black wing pencils? I have just started to get into them. How do you go about overlaying your drawing over the original? Thanks for sharing 💜
I like the blackwing - they’re a little more buttery than normal graphite somehow - very nice to draw with. the app is the overlay app - I’ve got the full details and link in the comments section if you go down to links 👍
thankyou! they’re listed in the description - if you check out my video on the 4 sketchbook exercises I linked there than that has a bit more explanation 😄
Thankyou! The app is in the description: overlay cut out photo editor. You get spammed with ads a bit when you use it because it’s a free app but other than that the free version does the job perfectly well 👍
Hi im beginner in fine arts too.i need bit of help here .can you suggest or advise in shapesxand light to dark shading. Is thereca way i send my sketches so you guide me by email some how .kindly let me know thank you.
hi! I don’t offer tuition sorry. My suggestion would be to find an artist you admire who has a Patreon with a feedback tier (a couple that spring to mind are Susan Lyon & Sam Clayden). you’ll usually look at around $50 -$80 per month/session but it includes tutorial videos. Alternatively some artists have free/open discord groups where you can drop your work for community feedback from other developing artist so do see if that’s something your favourite art educators offer. Unfortunately it’s not something I have right now! best of luck

i know right? once you think about it logically it doesn’t make too much sense. perhaps the photo ref I used exaggerated that - not too sure. But it does look effective so I went with it 😄
aargh no! I love the mournful piano music. I appreciate people might not have the same taste in music and I have tendency to reuse the same tracks because of digital rights - I shall put it to a public poll . Thanks for the feedback Patrick! 😄👍🏻
from when you first outlined the head onwards I was in awe of your capacity to replicate so naturally and accurately a complex structure
Well done. Bouguereau is one of my fave artists. Paints like an Angel.

Someone who doesn't use Loomis and grid method! You really drew very well, your Sargent copies are also perfect ✌️
ah thankyou . Flat linear block in is my bag - I’m blaming Stephen Bauman for that one 😂
