Okay.. this is a song that looks cute on the outside but has some kind of melancholy inside. It's really nice and high quality, but it also has to come with some deep meaning. Just like some other songs, it's not that we don't understand and feel good about it, it's that we forget that they're telling us something. At first I saw AZKI being animated, along with a lovely and funny sounding melody... until a few scenes appeared 2 AZKI's old models. That's when I realized that I forgot how AZKI was really feeling and thinking. Then I went to find the lyrics. It's actually quite profound and meaningful. The meaning of the lyrics plus knowing the troubled history of early Hololive and that even AZki herself had been on the verge of graduation at one point makes everything really poignant despite the apparently cutesy sound. Makes the uplifting note near the end really great, especially since it reflects AZki having managed to navigate those difficulties IRL to the better place she is now in current Hololive.
I really love Real Melancholy so I'm super excited that it was chosen to have an animation made for it. AZki has an amazing catalog of music on her channel so it will be great to see the new fans a project like this brings in check it all out and find songs that they resonate with.
