    Any particular reason you're not recommending HEVC?

    Thanks! Using this to render my new music video! You're right, it's rendering sooo much faster when it utilizes my graphics card than it did when I was using default settings. And that's even though I'm rendering in much higher quality. This video was very helpful and you definitely earned the like!

    I'm surprised that very little tutorials, show no examples of each of the settings in use to show the difference they do.
    It just helps building trust in the person showing what settings are considered the best.
    Also, imagine how many more views your videos could get, knowing that you're actually showing the difference instead of just saying one is better than the other.

    Great video! And very good explanations, this made me understand the settings in a different way. I'm using my CQP value set to 14 while I'm recording and 50 million bitrate CBR to render, however it looks pretty pixilated when I'm uploading to youtube, should I use a higher or lower bitrate to render or vbr? Do you know what the problem could be?

    I have a problem with rendering 10 hour videos. Vegas renders the whole video, video length is correct but the file size is lower than Vegas said. The file only plays 70% of the video until the player just stops. I switched from AVC to HEVC and had no problems for a week until now. Is it a Vegas problem or a Windows problem?

    Same here, lossless has Never ever worked right for me. It always produces a glitch filled video. I seriously wonder why it's even an option, because it never works right and the rendered video is always a loss!

    • @ScrapyardFilms
      @ScrapyardFilms 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it would make any quality difference whichever you chose. VBR may give a slightly lower filesize but you'd have to render in both to find out.

      One thing I noticed is Sony AVC/MVC only has presets for 30 FPS, whereas Magix AVC/AAC has 60 FPS.

    Pretty new to this and not sure why my render size is 738kb and my video is fractions of a second long. Followed the video to a T but it hasn’t worked.

    • @DoyleRules91
      @DoyleRules91 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It renders what you select, you need to click and drag over the portion of the video you wish to render first.
      When editing you'll sometimes only want to render a portion of a video to see how it looks.
      I think theres a check box that says 'render loop region' before you click render. This is referring to the selection you make.
      This region should be indicated along the timeline bar above the layers of your project. In older versions they look like 2 triangles.

    • @alfiecox1183
      @alfiecox1183 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    100 Mbps and 80 Mbps? Really? That will make your video HUGE! Won't TH-cam just re-render it way down?

    • @lfcadorin
      @lfcadorin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! It's pointless you record a footage at 50 Mbps (or less) and an audio at 192 kbps and render it at 100Mbps and 320kbps. It won't get any better quality than you recorded.

    • @ScrapyardFilms
      @ScrapyardFilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct! Your best bet is to render out as close to the same bit rate as your recorded footage!

  • @rsmith02
    @rsmith02 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd stick with the recommended bitrates for HD AVC files in Vegas. 100,000,000 is really really high for HD and even high for 4K! Vegas defaults for HEVC are too high and can be reduced, FYI.

    Trying out version 19 but I'm having an issue. If I open a clip on the timeline and open the preferences menu Vegas freezes. If I open the preferences menu, and no clip on the timeline, Vegas dosen't freeze.
