Great video nit I must point out that you show the Riders Of The Lost Ark by Richard Amsel, not Drew Struzan.
You're right I made a mistake in that sequence of the video, thank you very much for commenting.
He drew history of the cinema and anyone who saw them would remember.
The raiders of lost ark poster was what got me familiar with this outstanding artist. For one, I think the Raiders poster is one of the greatest pieces of illustration that has ever been completed. Especially since it goes with a masterpiece of a film. ❤😂
So cool. I’ve always loved his work.
That way of composing images and telling stories through it is impressive, it always reminded me of Mucha with his style. Great video, bro.
I'm glad you liked the video, thanks for commenting!
Just realized I have two of his works; a Poster from Back to the Future and The Phantom Menace. Gorgeous.
He's legend. I hope to own an original piece one day
Living history of cinema.
He made movies better before the actual film began.
Another awesome video!
Thank you very much sir!
Dude, thank you for posting this, but Raiders of The Lost Ark was done by Richard Amsel. His other notable poster work included “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome”, “The Dark Crystal” and “Chinatown”. He didn’t really get a ton of plaudits because he died in the 80’s during the AIDS epidemic. Just wanted to give the man his flowers. 😊
You are right I made a mistake in that sequence, I have fixed a comment that mentions that it is Richard Amsel's work, thanks for the comment.
Bob Peak also created the most amazing film posters. Shame Drew is retired now, and bob peak passed away. 🤯🤯🤯😎😎😎👍👍👍
3:54 "Raiders" poster was made by Amsel.
Art shutter,
Always love your content.
Do you have experience in graphic design?
I'm very glad you like the content of the channel!
Yes, I have some experience, I have worked in that field for a few years
@@ArtShutter likewise.
I use affinity software these days.
It's a top shelf program tbh. It competes with Creative cloud. I Made a transition to it last year.
Where can I find you over social media, instagram?
@@lustrojinn I still use Adobe programs, a matter of habit I guess... but I have tried something from affinity and the truth is not bad, besides muuuuch cheaper.
You can find me on the instagram account of the channel, there I can answer you more easily.
I always thought these were photos that were traced over.
I thought the same thing
They are, you can find his process of his paintings here on youtube and he traces pictures of the actors for accuracy and speed
He was a genius portraying expressions and a master with the airbrush, but i recon he lost touch wit the force awakens poster
promo sm
With his retirement film posters are truly dead. The golden age of painted highly artistic posters is over. Modern photo shop style posters for films suck balls. 🤯🤯🤯
