- OY, MIN-NAAAAA!! I proudly present to you, THOUSAND SUNNY (Land of Wano ver.) from the anime, One Piece!!
I did lost my count on how many hours, days, or even months that I keep painting on this kit. The good thing is that I still decided to finish it even though I have lots of hesitation on painting the kit as a whole because of the small details to be painted on, but I took it as a challenge in order to improve my painting skills & color mixing.
The details on this kit is very overwhelming if you want to have a color-accurate Thousand Sunny just like in the anime. Did I manage to make it anime-accurate? What do you think? Comment down below :)

Yesss!!! This is so great. I'm building and painting the New World model right now. (I'm leaving some things unpainted, like the white of the ship trim, but am panel lining the details.) You did an amazing job! I'm slightly less intimidated of painting the figures now.

Thanks, man! I really did enjoy this build 🔥 If you're referring to the stand, I did use MR. WEATHERING COLOR (Brown) on it. The kit has a wood texture, you just need to enhance the color to make it pop 😀

One question and I know it's been 2 years now but, the patched up Jolly Roger, I noticed the sticker sheet came with an extra bone. Are the patches attached to the main skull or can I just not use the patches and use the extra bone to make a regular Straw Hats logo instead of the patched up one?
Hi! The extra sticker does have the same layout with the waterslide decal included. The patches are connected to the main skull itself, so there's no workaround for it unless you're building a different variation of the Thousand Sunny model kit.
I just finished painting a MINI SUNNY GO -- more complicated because I Primed every part and painted every bit of where my paint brush can reach--- I have GOing Merry to do next and also my "Same size SUnny GO" like yours!
KUdos Great Job! but it would have been great if you primed everything -- tho that would take you 1 year seeing how big SUnny is
That's awesome! Yes, I skipped priming because it will take me a very loooong time before I can finish mine, lol. After all, it already took me about 2-3 months before I finished mine.
Sir do you also customize anime figures? Like changing it to MD or enhancing their colors?
I'm more into plastic model kits, I haven't tried doing a repaint for an anime figure but I'm planning to do so 😄👌🏻 For now, I just do minor tweaks if I do notice something that's off on my figure

Since I am new, did you put any primer before painting it? Did you use any tinner for the acrylic? Thanks a lot!
Thank you very much!! 😁 Actually, I didn't do any priming before painting the kit. I just did spray a flat matt in order for the kit to have texture so that the paint can stick (but I believe that sanding and priming is the correct way). I didn't use any thinner as well, just a small amount of water.

This is a great kit 😁 It does need some color correction, especially for the small parts that don't have any stickers included.
HI, I've seen there is a different version, the New World Version with other clothes, do you know what's the difference between them?
The character's clothing and the sticker for the StrawHat Pirates logo. On the Wano version, it has some stitches on it while on the New World, it's the regular one. Hope it helps! ✌🏻

hey what brush do u use, i dont know whats wrong but my brush stroke is bad, im currently doing this kit too
I bought a set of paintbrushes that have different thicknesses, and for the very small details, I used a toothpick.
I have the version after the time skip... got it back then and seems to be put together exactly like this one. Havent touched it yet though. When I was going to start, I noticed the sucky stickers, and since I'm bad at painting little things, the kit has been in its box for several years :(
The sticker really sucks, it makes the kit looks cheap imo. Hope that you can build yours, maybe try using some markers if you're not that capable with hand painting 😁
I will try. Your video kinda inspired me to build it... I wont paint the characters though... screw tthat... Chopper is almost the size of a grain of rice lol

yes, I did use another topcoat for the overall finish

Thanks! 😁 The difference between the two are the Straw Hat Pirates and the included stickers/decals. For this version, the included sticker/decal for the sail has the patches, while on the regular one, it doesn't.

My fave looks on the characters are the Onigashima, specially for luffy, zoro and sanji so kinda prefere the straw hats on the other thousand sunny to paint them, but I don't really mind at all.

Hi there! I can say that this is an easy build. When it comes to painting, I did find it challenging because it needs a lot of color correction. For some tips, you should have different sizes of brushes. Also, just enjoy the build. Don't stress yourself 😄
How you attached the characters to the base?
I used Tamiya Cement to glue them on their respective bases 😄
I want to know where you buy your paints/primer/coating, & brushes?
Everything was bought on Shopee. I do check the reviews of the shop before buying so I won't experience any hassle.

how long did this whole thing take
To be honest, I'm not sure how long it took me to finish this one. After the initial build, I think 2 months passed before I started painting it. It's not continuous as well, I just tried finding some time to continue what I haven't done.

Yes, the New World version have all the minis as well 😃

@@NostalgicJoystick, I think the only difference will be the included stickers/decals because the Wano ver. does have some stitches on it while the New World doesn't. In terms of minis, they're all the same except the character designs.

Hi! I believe it's a mix of brown and white paint, not entirely sure with the ratio because I just kept on adding up the white paint to get a very light brown (close to a darker tone of flesh).

Yes, comparing to the other Thousand Sunny versions, the only update on this kit are the waterslide decals and the mini characters, matching the Wano theme.
