The only reason he asks for money is to help a child. He has to appease the witches too. He is a great person, but people around him say that he is a scumbag. For example his brother's. (This about a Devilgram story Mammon: One too many Insults) The saddest part is He had to genuinely run away from home for his brothers to finally understand how much They need Mammon and how much their older brother(or younger in Lucifer's case) mattered to them. Like Lucifer wouldn't even speak cuz of his guilt and regret. They were all gonna go look for him if he hadnt shown up himself(But he wasn't even planning on staying, he came back cuz he forgot his DDD's charger) If Mammon hadn't came back for his DDD's charger he might not have been there when MC arrived at the Devildom.
I think the reason why he’s the first one we make a pact with is so we can understand him more. I think him having a lot of screen time at the beginning of the story really helps us understand him, especially since if we meant him later I feel like others and even myself would see him as undesirable since we wouldn’t get to spend as much time with him and understand him. Mammon seems to not be very confident about himself as a person and uses his fake ego to hide his emotions. As a demon maybe, but not as a person. He may be possessive over the MC is because every feels more comfortable around them and gets to be himself without having to worry about being constantly judged, or insulted, or having to question himself. While he is scummy at times, he isn’t a bad person and he does care for both the MC and his brothers. He gets insulted, and blamed for almost he does or doesn’t do. He isn’t my favorite, but I do love his character and a perfect choice for the MC’s first demon they made a pact with. He’s probably in my top 3.
He's my favourite for all of these reasons, and oh boy if I were actually there I'd be a lot mouthier with his brothers and a lot more protective of Mammon than MC is programmed to be!! 😤 Haven't you noticed it's not often he insults them back? And even when he does he never goes to their lengths of insults. Also there's a theory about Mammon's power that I've heard around the fandom; Mammon's power is whoever he loves is showered in wealth, right? His brothers always have money on them but Mammon never does despite being the Avatar of Greed, and he always has to borrow money instead. This may be wrong because of a few loopholes that could prove the love thing wrong but it's just a theory... What if Mammon's power is also affected by self-love? While he loves his brothers, he hates himself?
I think I actually saw him mention something about that in the main story, but I thought he was lying. But after I viewed this card's story, I realized he was telling the truth! That and the card One too many insults really changed my views on him.
The sad thing is, even though he told everyone about it, no one will believed except Lucifer. That's why he kept it a secret all this time, and didn't argue even though people thought he was lying 🤧
Exactly! When he told them about the girl he takes care of and when the brothers don’t believe him. I felt it for a moment, a feeling knowing mammon was lying about lying about taking care of a girl. From then on, when every time his brothers insult him. I couldn’t bring myself to think he was a scumbag. Even when I forgot he did something good by taking good care of girl I’ve stopped playing obey me for months and got back just a few days ago so i most certainly forgot about mammon’s good side. But i knew then he is a good boy.... The most innocent, honorable, (yes I know he is a thief) and the kindest of the seven. And if i were to choose among the seven errr eleven characters. Mammon will be my first choice.

I’ve never actually hated mammon even if he did seem like a scum bag and greedy. I always thought that his brothers are way too harsh on him. Like, he can’t help the fact that he’s the avatar of greed and it’s in his nature. Like, they never get mad at beel for eating everything in the house because they understand that it’s because he’s the avatar of gluttony so I don’t understand why they can’t do the same for mammon. I honestly feel really bad for mammon when his brothers treat him like that. And I also feel bad because no matter what he does, even if it’s something good, his brothers will always see it as a way to gain something from someone as a payment or something like that.

Mammon is my favorite character like he's the most comfortable one to be with. There was this story in devilgram were they were accusing him of stealing money and I badly wanted to defend him. Mammon can be a troublemaker but he's really soft hearted he's just shy to admit it. I also love Mammon and Lucifer's closeness. Lucifer looks out for mammon and he believes and always help him out of trouble that comes with nags first lol it's his way of disciplining him tho and mammon knows it that's why he really respect Lucifer

THAT is borderline toxic. I hate how often he acts embarrassed about MC. That’s constant low level bad self esteem radiation and until he grows out of that habit I just can’t stand him. I’m a little older than the target group for this game which might be why I have no tolerance for his actions and don’t find that act cute, but I do feel weird seeing people talk about him like he’s the kindest, sweetest, best uwu of them all. I think he could grow into that idealized version of him, but he’s a long way from there and hasn’t shown more than a vague indication that growth is possible. What Mammon exhibits isn’t love. It’s self centeredness. I do find his inability to see how obvious he is endearing. The few times he does a truly selfless, altruistic thing (without boasting about it) is heartwarming. In my opinion, that obliviousness to how obviously he likes MC is the best light to portray he’s selfless side. He just does it... doesn’t think twice about it, doesn’t demand praise or compensation for it... he just does it because it’s the right thing and it doesn’t cross his mind to be embarrassed by it. I look forward to that Mammon."
From the lesson 1 I’ve always knew that he was mistreated because only good people can still act like that and laugh even if they’re hurt, but guess what? The game made us have an allience with Levi to basically use him from the start too ☹️

I don't even think his brothers hate him, even if they say that he is a scumbag, I can never take them seriously, afterall, he was the one who always used to take care of them. He is their brother and I know that they love him. Well I know this is very late🤣 but ever since I play this game (which is last year) I've always adored mammon to the point that I believe that he is the male lead for the MC we might not notice but he is the only one who hasn't tried to kill the MC although we get in trouble because of him but I think it's his way to at least keep the family together and I think while MC was not yet in devildom.... I didn't hate Mammon, I see him as a best friend and I really enjoy his company. It kinda hurts me when any of the brother mocking him. But slowly, I realize ... He's really sweet and kind. Everyone always calls him a scumbag, a idiot, a moron, etc. And he pretty much had no one to turn to. When not only strangers and your friends, but your family also hates on you, it’s really sad. If I were in his shoes, I probably would’ve become suicidal. This story just brought me to tears. Poor Mammon.

The saddest part is He had to genuinely run away from home for his brothers to finally understand how much They need Mammon and how much their older brother(or younger in Lucifer's case) mattered to them. Like Lucifer wouldn't even speak cuz of his guilt and regret. They were all gonna go look for him if he hadnt shown up himself(But he wasn't even planning on staying, he came back cuz he forgot his DDD's charger) If Mammon hadn't came back for his DDD's charger he might not have been there when MC arrived at the Devildom.
I think the reason why he’s the first one we make a pact with is so we can understand him more. I think him having a lot of screen time at the beginning of the story really helps us understand him, especially since if we meant him later I feel like others and even myself would see him as undesirable since we wouldn’t get to spend as much time with him and understand him.
Mammon seems to not be very confident about himself as a person and uses his fake ego to hide his emotions. As a demon maybe, but not as a person. He may be possessive over the MC is because every feels more comfortable around them and gets to be himself without having to worry about being constantly judged, or insulted, or having to question himself.
While he is scummy at times, he isn’t a bad person and he does care for both the MC and his brothers.
He gets insulted, and blamed for almost he does or doesn’t do.
He isn’t my favorite, but I do love his character and a perfect choice for the MC’s first demon they made a pact with.
He’s probably in my top 3.

He's my favourite for all of these reasons, and oh boy if I were actually there I'd be a lot mouthier with his brothers and a lot more protective of Mammon than MC is programmed to be!! 😤 Haven't you noticed it's not often he insults them back? And even when he does he never goes to their lengths of insults.
Also there's a theory about Mammon's power that I've heard around the fandom; Mammon's power is whoever he loves is showered in wealth, right? His brothers always have money on them but Mammon never does despite being the Avatar of Greed, and he always has to borrow money instead. This may be wrong because of a few loopholes that could prove the love thing wrong but it's just a theory... What if Mammon's power is also affected by self-love? While he loves his brothers, he hates himself?
I think I actually saw him mention something about that in the main story, but I thought he was lying. But after I viewed this card's story, I realized he was telling the truth! That and the card One too many insults really changed my views on him.
The sad thing is, even though he told everyone about it, no one will believed except Lucifer. That's why he kept it a secret all this time, and didn't argue even though people thought he was lying 🤧

I’ve stopped playing obey me for months and got back just a few days ago so i most certainly forgot about mammon’s good side. But i knew then he is a good boy....

I’ve never actually hated mammon even if he did seem like a scum bag and greedy. I always thought that his brothers are way too harsh on him. Like, he can’t help the fact that he’s the avatar of greed and it’s in his nature. Like, they never get mad at beel for eating everything in the house because they understand that it’s because he’s the avatar of gluttony so I don’t understand why they can’t do the same for mammon. I honestly feel really bad for mammon when his brothers treat him like that. "You’re not alone. He’s at the very bottom of my list too (and I like a little bit of tsunderes). I wouldn’t call him toxic, personally, but he has a lot of character flaws (expected) that the writers rarely properly redeem or blunt (less expected). Most “nice” things he does is immediately negated by his own actions. Someone saw him give a kid candy? So nice! Oh.... except someone else saw him earlier that day steal that same candy from Luke, not only a child, but an angel child! He buys Levi some game he wanted? That would have been really nice if he hadn’t sold Levi’s stuff (without permission) to buy it for him (and pocket the change) 🙄. The one story everyone holds up as his ‘great moment’ is just a little uncomfortable to me because of how embarrassed he is about this single act of kindness. He doesn’t know why he did it, seems uncomfortable with getting himself into that situation and is unreasonably embarrassed about it. There’s zero reason to act embarrassed but he treats it like some dirty secret. If he can’t take honor/pride out of that deed, then he has a long way to go before showing any real growth with personal relationships. I don’t really like being mean to anyone, but he earns the razzing he gets from his brothers. He disrespects his brothers (and MC) constantly, runs away from confrontation (I personally think he’s a coward) and is embarrassed by the few decent things he does.
My biggest gripe is that, despite everyone saying he shows he really cares for MC, I don’t see it. I mean, it’s cute that he’s so bad at covering his feelings that he can be teased by others just by invoking MC, but he’s not trying to show that. He wants that hidden and is annoyed everyone can see it. He’s suppose to be her guardian, but he does nothing to protect them when Levi and Lucifer go demon-form angry on MC, and knowingly puts them in danger by pushing them to eat Beel’s custard. Worse, he tells MC that if he’s not able to protect them the next time their life is in danger, they should die instead of letting someone else save them.... and then that happens.
The breaking point for me was his halloween card where he insisted they wear matching costumes to the party but then got embarrassed about it when they showed up in public so they told MC to stand away from them, and then got upset that asmo and Satan (and maybe belphie too?) just lavished MC with attention, got jealous, and insisted they leave the party. THAT is borderline toxic. I hate how often he acts embarrassed about MC. That’s constant low level bad self esteem radiation and until he grows out of that habit I just can’t stand him.
I’m a little older than the target group for this game which might be why I have no tolerance for his actions and don’t find that act cute, but I do feel weird seeing people talk about him like he’s the kindest, sweetest, best uwu of them all. I think he could grow into that idealized version of him, but he’s a long way from there and hasn’t shown more than a vague indication that growth is possible. What Mammon exhibits isn’t love. It’s self centeredness.
I do find his inability to see how obvious he is endearing. The few times he does a truly selfless, altruistic thing (without boasting about it) is heartwarming. In my opinion, that obliviousness to how obviously he likes MC is the best light to portray he’s selfless side. He just does it... doesn’t think twice about it, doesn’t demand praise or compensation for it... he just does it because it’s the right thing and it doesn’t cross his mind to be embarrassed by it. I look forward to that Mammon."

I don't even think his brothers hate him, even if they say that he is a scumbag, I can never take them seriously, afterall, he was the one who always used to take care of them.
He is their brother and I know that they love him. Sometimes he does questionable things and it's hard for them to keep up with his pace, but I always thought that he didn't deserve to be ignored or looked down on, I used to get annoyed whenever one of them insulted him since I know how that feels, but I never blamed anyone, infact I think they just like to tease him.
He is always on the defensive and tries everything he can to piss you off but I just can't because he is too cute and the way he takes care of us is everything.

Well I know this is very late🤣 but ever since I play this game (which is last year) I've always adored mammon to the point that I believe that he is the male lead for the MC we might not notice but he is the only one who hasn't tried to kill the MC although we get in trouble because of him but I think it's his way to at least keep the family together and I think while MC was not yet in devildom.... Mammon is the not really the only one but the one who really try his hardest to keep the family together and also he is not dumb or anything he just ACT like one he always have this happy go lucky vibe which is really one of his positive traits(for my opinion) and also when the other brothers are not yet pacted with the MC (aside from mammon since he is MC first~~) he is the one who the MC rely the most and also the one who try to convince(not literally but still give him credit)Levi and Beel when they we're talking about how will they get to let lucifer and belphie talk and also the one who really believe in MC therefore let's appreciate his efforts (it might seems that some of his plans are dumb but for me out of all demons and people he is the most reliable ☺ but let's not forget the other brothers let's appreciate each and every characters and their development ☺)
