Celine sang this at the 2017 Salute to the Bee Gees at the Grammys. She came down the stairs to the front row at the end to sing to Barry and it was truly special. She said she was singing it in memory of Robin, Morris, Andy, her brother Daniel and husband Rene.
The Beegees once said in an interview that when you hear an artist sing a song that you wrote for them with such passion it's very emotional and they could not hold back the tears in the making of this video. Thanks for your reactions.

Watching this performance live in Las Vegas was awesome!! You should see that one! The Bee Gees commented on more than one occasion that this is their favorite song that they ever wrote for someone other than themselves. Seeing the tears in Barry’s eyes at the end says it all!

When I hear this I alway think of Maurice, Robin and also Andy. They didn't have to say goodbye because we have their music that will live on. And they will have immortality through their music. It brings tears to my eyes always. I really don't think of Celine when I hear it. Even though she sings it beautifully . I always think of the brothers. Barry will always be remembered too. I am so glad he is still with us doing what he does best. Making music.

They sing this live with Celine in their Las Vegas "One Night Only" concert as well. Watching this video, you see the love for their music. Plus, as amazing and successful the Bee Gees were, they were still so very humble. They were never arrogant and full of themselves. That they were "back up singers" to Celine's lead singing in this song attests to this fact. I hope their time of "practice" in the studio was recorded. Would love to have been in there to witness it all.

My friend let’s just say that they were one of the best that would be more accurate because there’s a few groups that can easily beat them I’m thinking right now of the Beatles other group like Pink Floyd etc but they are in fact in that category 😉

This song is so angelical
This was the rehearsal for the One Night Only show in Las Vegas where she sang this. It looks like all the guys are needing Kleenex while she is singing. There is a video where Celine sings this song to Barry and the Gibb family at a tribute for Robin and Maurice. It is so touching, and they are both crying by the time she finishes it, coming off the stage and kneeling in front of him.
That was such a bittersweet performanice. She stood center stage and told Barry that this was for Robin, Maurice, Andy, her brother and her husband (whom she had also lost) . Then She began to sing and on the huge screen behind her projected The images of Maurice, Barry and Robin during one of the performances with her singing this song and the Bee Gees backing her singing. You could see them and hear them sing this gorgeous superballad. It was stunningly beautiful. I wept so hard that I had to keep backing it up so I could see it through my tears.😭💔 then she walked down the steps and off the stage straight to Barry, singing the whole time. She stopped in front of him, knelt down in front of him and then took his hands and stood with him following and as she finished,she wrapped her arms around him and said "I love you so much Barry". 😭💔😭💔
If you care to see it, Google 2017 grammys tribute to the Bee Gees/ Celine Dion singing Immortality. There are many other Bee Gee songs also performed by other artists in honor of the Bee Gees. All were great but that one was my favorite and most meaningful.
It’s gorgeous how they mesh.
They are all truly professionals and singers/composers since they were children. Celine was born in Charlemagne Canada, a Quebecois, the youngest of 14 and first sang at a wedding when she was five. She composed her first song with her brother Jacques at 12, "Ce n'etait qu'un reve", "Nothing but a dream" and sings in several languages. Her voice is powerful but full of emotion. She has the same vocal control and soulful expression as Robin, Barry and Maurice and it's NATURAL. You said there is something but you don't know what to call it. The Francophones have the perfect phrase, "Je ne sais quoi" which means exactly that, something intangible but it's there. The Bee Gees and Celine are a perfect marriage (4 in a marriage???) because they all came from poverty, big families, started in the "biz" as children and worked hard to succeed and endure. They surely had a natural synergy.
PS - She also has a wicked sense of humor so she should fit right in.
These perfect artist will have immortality through their songs music and fabulous voices. Love The Bee Gees forever and Celine is absolutely one of the very best female artist ever. Great combination 💔🔥💔🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥💋💋💋💋

I agree with you about the passion and class. But in my humble opinion, Whitney Houston's 1980s voice is the greatest voice of all time. This is no way a knock on la très grande Céline Dion. It is a very short list of the absolutely greatest, most distinct female voices in the history of popular music. The 8 that stand above everyone else and that live in their own orbits are Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Karen Carpenter, Annie Lennox, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. Of course, there are so many songstresses who are as great, but I'm only talking about the voices.

I find that people either love her or can't stand her. Not many in between. I'm in the "love her" camp. And I'm good with anything that touches the Bee Gees universe right now. This song was very special to them. Lovely. I'm grabbing my tissues along with the brothers.
They wrote this with her in mind they said in interviews. I really wasn't expecting this for this weekend, but, okay, the Bee Gees are singing, and they did write the song. Although Barry often has sung this song on tour, dedicating it to his brothers.

I don´t know why but any piece from Bee Gees can´t be just heard or even listened by me. Their music simply runs through my body and mind and lift me on, growing day after day. I thank God for having been as a visitor at Thames. London (house of Robert Stigwood) , Miami, Brisbane, Sydney, etc. folllowing their steps. (not easy to do when one lives in Buenos Aires....)

This is beautiful. You can see in the documentaries how touching it was to The Bee Gees when she sang this. Brought them to tears. Love love love. Yes very classy lady! I agree they are having fun. You know one thing I’ve noticed about all of the videos of Bee Gees in recording studio, they look like they are having fun.

I watched a video last week I think it was and a music reporter was talking about this song. He said he was there when Barry and Mo wrote this. He said that from start to finish, it took them 3 1/2 minutes and it was done :O
And Céline Dion does exactly like a « regular » Bee Gees’ song: Ad lib and high voice…Great moment. And the backing harmonies of the brothers add so much to the song. Without them, it would be a good song, with them, it is immortal

I couldn't help but notice both Barry and Maurice with a tissue in their hands and wiping their eyes. It had to be an amazing sensation for them, as songwriters, to hear a voice as glorious as Me. Dion's giving life to one of their songs. I've heard them say, more than once, that they saw this as one of the best songs they had written.

Her voice sounded pure - like an instrument. The performance was flawless. I had the privilege of being there, among fans in that huge audience - no one wanted to miss hearing a single note. A beautiful Song, given to her when she asked for a song written by the Bee Gees, it was written originally for the stage musical Saturday Night Fever in England. 1996. They did a beautiful job together, the live performance from 1997 in Las Vegas is worth a look. They were so proud of her performance, they were known to have said as songwriters the joy they got from their songs being performed was as as exciting as their own performances
What a beautiful & emotional recording for them, prob more so for Barry & Mo, who wrote this in 3.5 minutes. Barry said, "I knew what this girl could do with this…..but she really blew our minds in the end". Late to this reaction probably because I didn't find you until lately. My friend said that Celine Dionne could sing up to the angels. Sound familiar? This is off her Let's Talk About Love album. I have it and it's beautiful. Give it a listen some time. Barry said there wasn't a dry eye in the studio when they cut this and they had to keep passing the tissues around the room.

You should react to this RARE VERSION of Stayin' Alive. This unreleased version has a slow bridge that has never been heard before, until a few years ago when the Bee Gees had a TV special where people voted for the Nation's Favorite Bee Gees Songs in 2009 where Barry and Robin heard for the first time since 1977.
Mo grabbing the kleenex. And barry was already emotional hearing their song in celine's voice.

I think you watched the wrong video my man, this is the "unofficial music video" for the song, the making/recording of the song part is on the beginning of this unofficial music video, they obviously cut of the first half of the video.
I have watched the entire recording session of "Let's Talk About Love" and I know for sure that there are footages of the recording and backstory of this song.

This song was performed life on a show on the evening of August 25.1967 with the start of German Color TV. The song was written by the Bee Ges in 1965. Consider they where teenagers, Barry 19 Robin, Mo 16.
Story beside, Abi Ofarim is the father of Gill Ofarim which is just in a judgement because of his false statement against a desk operator in a German hotel.
