I bought one a month ago. Have never changed a dirt bike tire in my life. Changed both my front and rear and converted front to tubliss (rear was already tubliss). Both tires just endured 7 days in Moab riding daily. Easy peasy. (I added 5 curved Tusk tire levers)
Rad
Nuetron is owned by Rocky mountain. That changer was designed and prototyped in Utah then sent over for production.
Ok, thanks for the info. It’s a really nice machine.
awesome review was looking at today and ordered up and I'll guess I will take 10 minutes to weld a square tube on it for tire irons .........done
Perfect
Glad to hear. I've been eyeing this thing for a while as a good alterative. Not having a tire iron box kinda stinks, but you can make your own or buy something to attach to it for minimal money. Be sure and keep plugging the RMATV links! I know I'm really bad about thinking, "Oh, I need to get this!". Then I just pop on and not think about using your links to get to it, but I'm trying to do better! I love getting unfiltered reviews so I spend my hard earned money on things that are good and last, or at least knowing exactly what I'm buying for the price.
The baby blue finish pops!!! Cool tool🤘🤘🤘💯
Sweet, already purchased one, good to hear...
Thanks for the video and the comparisons to the Rabaconda and the Moose units (was hoping you would have compared the Tusk unit you have also - you know, bang for the buck type opinion). Anyway, I used your link and ordered one!
Look at that beautiful beast in the background ❤️ XR650 🤘
❤️❤️🐽
What would you say it’s the best tire machine for the amateur? (Not wanting to spend big money on it.) Any experience with things like Baja no pinch, or equivalent like TMT tire mounting tool? What do you make of that sort of tool? I find it appealing.
I’ve never used one but those look really cool
Super helpful. Thank you. Would you recommend it to change dirt bike tire with regular tubes or overkill?
No, it works great for that too
Ty Davis Damn Good Tire Changer is the best one on the market. Hands down.
Unfortunately it’s back ordered for 6 months
It's not backordered. They make them once you order then. Unfortunately that's how long the wait is everytime. @@highlandcycles
I didn't like the Rabaconda, the bead breaker messed up the sidewall on an expensive Anakee...is the BB on this one smooth? The Neutron looks fantastic FWIW, may just get one since I am in the market after getting rid of my MRP stand and earlier the Rabaconda. Appreciate the video may have saved me about 600 bux and not buy the TMT changer. P.S.- what is the fork tube attachment I have seen on your bike? Glad you are still at it bigger and better than ever Morgan, been a while for me. Your AOK man.
The BB is toothed on this. It’s for changing mousses mainly so you need that grip to force the tire off the bead. The thing on my forks is called a countershox. Thanks
My Moose Racing changer came w/a bag... 🤷🏼♂️ Split loom & zip ties for spoke protection. Tried inner tube & ties which protect the spokes, but wheel won't rotate/slide when you want so no bueno.
Yeah. These spoke protectors are really nice.
I like the added wheel size capability. Will the smaller spindle handle the mini bike size wheel bearings? My Rabaconda will not even accommodate with the additional smaller spindle I purchased nor will it slide in far enough to set up properly for smaller wheels
Yes it works on tiny wheel bearings
add a piece of pvc pipe and a couple of zip tyes instant tire iron holders
Yep. Will be doing that soon
The shop towels are backwards! Ahhhhh 😂
Seems like it might be nice to take on the road with you to the races.
PRC 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽!!!
Yeah. Would be good if I weren’t also racing.
Hey Morgan is this machine about the same foot print size as the RAB?
Yes
Are these two devices just bead breakers, or are they also designed to assist in installing a new tire onto the rim. If they don’t help with the latter, then I don’t see a need here.
They help install the new tire
Looks a quality product like it 👍
It’s nice
How much easier do these make changing a mousse vs just having a tire changing stand? I feel like just having a stand is pretty amazing, but curious if this just makes it that much easier? Seems like you dont use the arm that much?
Much easier
I did bibs on stand without a bead breaker bar for a long time. Just the plan old tire stand. It's all about technique for sure and using smaller spoons and bead buddies as you go to keep the bead in the rim dish. The breaker bar makes it super convenient and easy. Especially if the tire has been on there for a while. After a while on the rim the bead seems to get glued to the rim. I've started using a specific tire paste as well for mounting in hops that bead will come off later down the road easy. Also the bead breaker bar makes it easier if you need to get an iron in with a new bib if you get in spot where you need to. I used to 3 large spoons with the standard stand. They don't work as well for this style changer. Some like he has in the video a way better. I had two like that for changing tubes. When I moved the Rabaconda I added a few more of the curved style. I've defiantly upped my tire changing game for sure. Works great and at 25 or more per change per tire (shop charge if you buy though them) and the ability to easily add lube and take care of the bibs... Eventually I'll save some cash. No fuss any more. Last ones I changed I tossed the tires on the hot concrete for a few minutes outside. From the bike on the stand with wheels, removed, install new tires and new bibs, and back on the bike in roughly 30 minutes. No real hurry and adding focusing on technique with the new rabaconda.... easy. I'm sure it will just get faster with time. Definitely worth it for me, but not 100% necessary. If I did this for a shop like Morgan... a tool like this would be a no brainer... just spend the jack and save over time.
@@Danman1972 hell ya Dan! Thanks for the input. I have 3 of the Dr roc style with handles, and one curved one and i always use the curved one for the last bite and it works great. Then 3 smaller tusk style and its been working well so far. I just require a beer with each tire, i swear ill never do it sober then its fine. 😛
I’m interested in going to a mousse insert (I’m new to dirt riding) and was wondering why Mousse Balls are your favorite? Compared to say the Nitro Mousse?
So is meant to be bolted down? No rubber feet? I would buy some rubber feet myself at McMaster Carr.
I think so. I’m going to put some rubber feet on it for sure
Selling the robaconda? Also what mouse balls you running on the xr?
No, we are changing multiple sets of tires at once a lot. I’m running nitro mousses on the XR
@@highlandcycles soft or medium? Thank you!
@@otxilac11 standard
@@highlandcycles going to get some. I run the kenda Parker dts on that bike and don’t flat but I have been wanting to change for a bit. Thank you!
What’s the weight difference between moouse balls and bibs? Any idea?
Mousse balls are about 15% lighter
Zip Ty tire changer is made in the US. Neutron make brake pad that are pretty darn good and they’re 7bucks. 😂
Sweet
Zip Ty one looks to be the best of the three but good luck with that one.
@@jss9849 Those are nice but I checked and they are back ordered for 6 months
Congratulations on your bull elk...
Thank you
💯👌
Can't work out why you haven't got more subscribers
They are coming
Got one for 80 bucks at harbor freight.
😮
You couldn't have done this video 6 months ago!?!?!? 😭😁
Hahahahaha
Lol a bic or zippo essential motorcycle tool box equipment.
I think Zip-Ty DGTT is made in America
Sick. I need to check that out
I don't think I'm man enough to change a tire with mousse balls in it, looks horrible to do.
Its not bad
After ya change a few by hand on a regular stand they get easier. I thought I needed a fancy machine like that... hundreds of tires later I'm still using my cheap stand. Even after changing plenty of moose.. and now moose balls.
@@woodysrockspyro6436 it’s all about technique.
I dont change tires for a living so I use tools from riding back pack in the dirt and wife yells at me from the kitchen!!
😂🤘🏻
Put some large zip ties round the bars of the rabaconda to help the spokes slide round
I was going to add some water hose and zip ties like I did on my standard stand on my rabaconda. Been using it. just a habit to lift and turn the wheel if I need to reposition. Not really going for speed. Just want to get it done fairly quickly.
