All those tidal gates get more interesting as the tide starts to flow. Our first couple of times through Corryvrechan were slack water neaps. I have done it half way between neaps and springs in calm weather too, wouldn't consider it with wind over tide or at full flow springs. The Sounds of Luing and Cuan are tame by comparison, but still interesting. I have added the Garvellachs to my must visit list, thanks for the preview 😁

Great video, thanks... Lovely area on a nice day! Lol... There's another area a bit further north from Corry called grey dog... Go through that at the right/wrong time and it feels like your going down rapids! Lol

It is thought that the burial place of Eithne, mother of St Columba is on Eileach an Naoimh in the Garvellachs (isles of the sea). The last time I was there was about ten years ago. I lay on the grass by one of the beehive cells, looking out the sea was flat calm and sparkled in the evening sun. I've never forgotten it.

I'm not 100% mate but I think its the same place
It is lovely there I also was there on a day with amazing weather.
      Where do you sail from?

@@sailingvolupia It is the same island I think that island was chosen for the original monastery because of the good grazing. My exploits around the west coast are related to sub-aqua. I would often find myself on some remote island de-fizzing ready for the second dive of the day. My sailing is limited to crew although I have considered a yacht for a couple of seasons.

I missed out on a trip there this year but nice to see some scenes , a calm Coryvreckan, I've yet to go through, Cuan Sound- (I have a video of going through in the mist). Hoping to see your Beneteau flying along south soon.
