    Just wow! I was pretty blown away by the amount of things you can adjust from inside the cab. I know Salford makes some great tillage equipment but have yet to see the Halo explained like this. Great job on the video and hope you enjoyed the demo.

    I'm curious as to what the weight difference would be between your case high speed disc and the salford of the same size. It sure looked like it done a great job.

  • @jimmoles6250
    @jimmoles6250 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Reece, you mentioned that your dad was running every other pass with you. How did the Case/IH speed tiller compare in soil finish with the Salford unit? Would you purchase this unit, or opt for one of the larger ones, which I assume would have to be pulled with a quad track? The amount of agitation those rigs cause to the soil is pretty incredible, I was around when the first rotary hoe units came out, and we thought they were something.

    Hey Reese, We just recently had a demo day on our farm with a bunch of brands. We noticed that the salford left sharp ridging under the top soil into the firmer ground which could cause problems for planting. It didn’t seem to matter what degree of angle we tried. We had lemken, salford, horsch, degelman, against our Deere 2680H. We found the Horsch joker did the nicest job. Curious if you’ve tried other brands before and what your thoughts were. Cheers!

  • @MRSludgedude

    Now is there any advantage of a a vertical till vs a one all chisel? Does it break compaction as well or is it used in conjunction with a deep ripper before hand?

    • @iversfarms
      @iversfarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Break out the ripper for compaction. This is not for that

    • @MRSludgedude
      @MRSludgedude 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iversfarms yea we just rip the end rows. Chizel plow does our fields compaction breaking on main field but if we ran a VT we would probly have to rip it all . I didn't think it was an option for a one all alternative.

  • @MRSludgedude
    @MRSludgedude 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to deep rip first wen using a VT unlike a chisel plow? We get alot of compaction no ripper so the VT wouldn't do us any good I don't think?

    Far too many linkages, hinge joints and parts for independent blade angles.
    I'd much prefer the full span of each disc gang angling itself.

    As usual your videos have amazing equipment, but don't give any real information. Never showed us the soil pan after tillage, never showed the Case IH next to it, never said the depth, never showed different gang angles and how they leave the soil differently, never showed you controlling the joystick. Basically no info.
