📽️ The protagonist of Episode 36 of 'I Am an Outsider' is Mr. Jung-Hyun Choi, who runs a timber trading business and a TH-cam channel in Indonesia. Mr. Choi originally came to Indonesia at the age of 27 to work as a wrestling coach. After working for about seven years, he transitioned into the timber trade.
He started the business with little knowledge about the timber trade, experiencing no income for the first two years. It took him a total of five years to establish his business. Hearing about his journey gave us a sense of how challenging it must have been to build something from the ground up in an unfamiliar field.
Currently, his business is stable, and he lives in his dream home while planning further expansion. His next goal is to build a factory in collaboration with a foreign partner. Mr. Choi advises those planning to start a business in Indonesia to first familiarize themselves with the local language and culture.
Indonesia may not provide the easiest environment for foreign entrepreneurs, especially due to complex paperwork and immigration procedures. However, with many Korean companies already operating or planning to enter the Indonesian market, it is clear that Indonesia offers significant business potential.
