Why are female villains always more psychotic (and I'd say edgy?) than male ones? Not just in CoD mind you, but seeing that happen in CoD Black Ops of all series was sure surprising... And yes, could've been done better
That’s main stream media for you woman = more emotionality there for we must find a way to show it. While men have the option to not be emotional or show less. Personally I always thought evil Wonder Woman when ever dc dose those opposite of hero’s and makes them evil. I feel like they make Wonder Woman more cold and emotionless.
Sofia Falcone from The Penguin is not like that. She is sympathetic but also a victim because of her father's side of the family. She is an antagonist of sorts in her own right. She is a well written character. Some writers seem to forget that not all villains have to be unhinged or not know what they are doing. That there are different types of villains with different motives. Scream has three types which are revenge, fame and someone who enjoys killing for no particular reason (usually the one being betrayed). Not all villains have to be evil just to be evil. They can be sympathetic or redeemed. I would want to write villains of various degrees and motivations. In real life, you might have violent types who dislike rapists or paedophiles as they are regarded as one of the worst in society. So you can have a character who is not exactly on the side of the law but they still do good. Someone like The Punisher.
The biggest problem with Harrow, is that she is absent and doesn't have much to do for most of the game, before kind of abruptly becoming the main antagonist in the last quarter of the game. If she had a bigger role or presence during the game, than it probably wouldn't have felt so jarring or underwhelming.
Would have been better to know about her trauma and some backstory, but not in that way like potrayed so deeply.. because it kind of defeats the purpose of having a 'villain' like her, she is really the only one and the other guy because of what she does, could have been better if Case or something got captured and then learned about her, instead of the team capturing her.. cause harrow knows case best as well.
I still sympathize with her for the pure fact she was a pawn in the greater scheme of things. I liked her as a villain but it did feel like activion told raven to wrap it up and rush the game. I feel like they wanted to make a an amazing game
I love how Harrow is such a goofy mf in the ending with that “I understand now” like “Oh Nooo I see the error of my ways now that I’m trapped in a sinking helicopter and about to get my shit kicked in by the monster I created woe is meeee” like bruh 😂😂😂
I don’t think so, like in the mind control the induce on her earlier, she shows she has another personality buried deep possibly by prior mind control by pantheon. The exposure to cradle may have tripped something in her mind temporarily.
When trapped in the helicopter, I must say that her villainous breakdown acting is good. Despite this, I do not think the game's antagonist is that good as her goal feels so mundane and it isn't bigger like Menendez and Makarov (original). By the way, I feel the twist is Jane was indirectly mentioned in Black Ops 2 as Kravchenko, before being executed in Afghanistan, cryptically said that Menendez "even has people in the C.I.A.". So it is likely that she was the one who provided the information to Menendez who kidnapped Hudson and tricked Woods in killing Mason and framed Adler as the mole for the Panama incident. I'd imagine that Woods would be even more angrier at her for indirectly got Mason killed. While I'd say this a good twist, however, like I said her goal feels so dull. Instead, the climatic part is her planning to bomb the Wall Street stock market in New York to damage the US economy, making it to face the same fate as the Soviet Union, so protagonists are driving there (we would see twin towers of the World Trade Center) to stop her.
Ok so the biggest problem I have with the story is that Harrow doesn’t feel like an antagonist more so a misguided friend with a bad side. It also doesn’t help that she is barely present 4 MOST OF THE GAME. She doesn’t really feel like a villain. I don’t mind the antagonist plot twist but it so short and underdeveloped, it also doesn’t help that we don’t find out who killed her parents, all the build up only 4 us 2 receive NO ANSWER. Having it be Adler woulda served a better purpose in my opinion weather he did it with good reason or not. I really wish they kept the choice making system when it comes 2 affecting the plot like with Cold War it seems Case has some history with the pantheon don’t coulda been nice if they gave u the choice of Do u stay a good guy with ur team?, or do u side with Harrow and join the pantheon? Especially since they kinda tease she isn’t dead with the screen blackening out meaning she could still be alive. I’m also sick of the brainwashing storylines they’re growing very stale. Story gets a 6.8/10 for me but that’s just my opinion.
Completely agree with you. Case seems to have had some 'history' with the pantheon and in the missions earlier Harrow is speaking to case in some vision in the zombie mission.. and by the end tells Case she knows who he is. So the potential for the campaign was much more than what it was, with Harrow and Case with adjustments with those two the game would have been different in a good way i think.
@@davidbadihi3915 completely agree, it just feels like so much is missing from the story that either was an idea or didn’t get finished due 2 being rushed.
notice how when pantheon is mentioned at 3:30, the screen becomes weirdly red playing as Case. that is some subtle, yet insane foreshadowing I just noticed.
Daily reminder that Perseus was a good guy, and while CIA kills their own people once they outlived their usefulness and use Europe as the human shield, Perseus never betrays the player.
Tbf she did try to save case, marshall and sev when they assaulted her base and repeatedly told them to surrender and leave alive. Even during the dialogue option when case pretends to betray marshall to help her cause, she tells case to first make marshall and sev leave the base alive.
Mason chokes Dragovich to death in same way Case did to Harrow. Price tied Makarov to glass roof and when the glass shattered, they fell off and Makarov died by hanging . The similarity between bo6 and MW3 was both Harrow and Makarov was about to fly away via chopper.
Black Ops 6 campaign is an hilarious attempt of Treyarch/Raven recreating srveral Murder Drones plotlines, which includes an *shocking* revelation that she is the bad guy. This is funny, at all.
I get what they were going for with her but she was so obviously the traitor. I also never really connected to her when she was on our side, unlike MW2009 Shepherd or MWII Graves, who were really charismatic. Also, what’s up with her needing to escape via helicopter to order the attack? Couldn’t someone else have started without her?
Yea that was the most stupidiest plot armor ever in a cod game. She literally half way around the world form dc and and is like naw I gotta get in a chopper . She could have launch 50 nukes at dc at one and it wouldn’t effect her lol 😂
I always tell people, The campaign of bo6 is fine but it lacked in many departments. It feels like the start to mid was fine but then by the ending feels like you achieved not much. The campaign could have consisted of so much more than digging into Harrow's backstory or life or whatever cause it took too long, same with all that zombies part i mean come on.. show more story and what was point of showing case was infected with all that with no payoff?? yes he he goes beserk in the end but still we dont know much about it just only the fact that it happend. A fine campaign but could have been so much more.
This is the stupidest antagonist in the cod series. Why letting the only team that can cause your downfall to keep investigate on you. The campaign could’ve ended much earlier had she ratted them out to Livingstone-
