Just bought this on Amazon Prime early access sale for $380. Dropped in 2 16GB sticks (total of 32GB) that I had sitting in a drawer and a 2TB SSD I picked up for $139 and have a very good workstation for less than $600 including tax.
@@braydengoins6604 at a minimum add an 8GB ram stick to the one it came with. The will make it dual channel if you match up the ram. I put in two matching 16GB sticks. Depending on your needs you could upgrade the NVME or, even easier, just add a 2.5 inch SSD. for more storage.

@@fbhighlights6421 Local Walmart was clearencing it out before they switched to the Victus series. The Victus has a 500 watt power supply vs the 400 Watt in the pavilion. A "Erica8" vs an "Erica6" motherboard which seems identical except for 2 USB 10GB ports on the 8. And most importantly the Victus has a rx6400 instead of the superior 5500. I'd argue that you should never need the 500watt power supply in that case, it has very bad airflow and will probably catch fire if you ever pushed a system to 500watts!
I bought this PC just as a starter and was planning on upgrading it to 16GB, but for some reason the PC wouldn't detect the graphics card, and also would freeze when I went to restart it to go into the bios and see what was wrong. i have the same computer. works like a charm and i use it for 1080p gaming daily. amazing pc. nothing wrong with it for me except the headphone jack wouldn't work the day i got it but somehow it just kinda fixed itself.
I had got one for 300$ It's not terrible but i took out the apu and the gpu and put it into another board and case with a new psu and ram instead. the ram isn't that great and the motherboard/psu/case is proprietary and very unupgradeable and there is zero fan control on the HP except the gpu. Software or otherwise.
BestBuy has a HP Pavillion Ryzen 7 3060 16ram 500gb for $1150 which sounds great but man the inside of these HP's look like its from 1990 not sure if its worth it anyone know ?
Its honestly worth it because of the hardware you are getting in it it's great and in the future for upgrades just buy a new power supply, motherboard and case add in a bigger ssd or add a hdd and your perfectly fine
I have something exactly like this 5500 rtx Had to upgrade the ram from 8gb to 16gb to actually run programs without issues. Though I still run into minimal issues

The PC just arrived last month, and I really like it! Much better than the old Cyberpower PC that I have, and it can handle PC VR. So it's a big win for me.
Just bought this PC from HP (But can upgrade the RAM part to 16GB later down the road) as a way to ditch the weak pre-built one that I have from Cyberpower. Can't wait to say goodbye to the one that I have. :D
Safe bet with the stock PSU is xx60 series Nvidia cards, two fans max. Some people have reported success with xx70 series Nvidia cards, but that’s rolling the dice. With AMD, I would say to stay away from anything that calls for 500 w and above PSU. If you want to chance it just take each component under load, and what ever remains is the headroom that you have for the GPU power draw.

@@isaiahnelson2132 you should be able to stream just fine. I never stream so I'm not sure 100%. But I recommend a ram upgrade/add on. 16gb is what you need these days. But other than that I'm super happy with it. Comes with a expansion spot for a internal ssd too. The os is installed on a mvme ssd. They sell a pny internal 1TB ssd for like $90 at Walmart. You just pop it open and plug it in. Cable should already be pre installed in the PC

Probably gets 200+ fps on vanilla. If you plan on playing modpacks you are going to have some trouble with just 8 gigs of ram, so in that case getting 8 more would be recommended

I tried to run Deus Ex Mankind Divided on mine, it ran poorly to say the least. the frames were really low, and it has a 5600 mind you.

It does suck. I ordered mine, plugged it up, tried to power it on, and nothing happened. Not even a light indicating it was plugged up.
