I’m not very interested in dice or D&D but these dice are so cool I just love watching these videos. Over quarantine I discovered resin casting and it’s so cool to see how much creative stuff people are doing with it.
This idea was actually the REASON I started making dice about 2 years ago. I was making sets of these to buy at a convention and using the bag to hold them in. Glad it came full circle lol
As gross as it sounds, those noodles actually make a pretty good tendril object filler. Using those noodle bits in a dark black or green set could make for a very Lovecraftian look.
I feel like I went through the same journey. As you started making them, it almost made me get physically sick, but once you finished, I was totally like, "dang, they look nice."
Honestly if you didn't know what they were, they'd absolutely work well for some kind of extra creepy necromancer character. The ramen has a kind of worm aspect and with the red lettering and murky resin it really is a mood.
I have been meaning to ask how have your other dice held up over the years? Resins typically yellow or tinge if they are not tinted and you have made many clear or clearish dice.
I started making dice ever since my friend showed me this video. It's hard work and I've had many mistakes, but I've had so much fun and I'm getting so much better with every batch. Thank you for not just this video but for a quality, helpful channel.
I'd like to see weapon dice. Like a dice set where each dice has a miniature DnD weapon suspended in it. Like a D6 with a bow, D10 and 100 with a matching sword and shield. I think it'd be cool.
I don't understand why people are calling these cursed? The dice turned out really well, you showed some excellent techniques to put a large thing inside a resin mold, and the colouring was very pleasing. Genuinely, you did a great job!
Theoretically could the method used to get the Ramen label on the box lid be used to put the art from pokemon or another trading card on the lid of a dice box?
To be honest, I’d absolutely use them in a game. As the only dice. A singular set. How to be the most chaotic(cursed really) at the table. Though idea. Clear resin to hold the noodles with the flavor resin outside? Like the shell dice.
once a week i think about how you said the ramen noodle test resin was the worst thing you´ve ever created i am glad to see the dice are growing on you!
No, don't be ashamed of them. Embrace the Peter Brown-ness of it. It could so easily be an episode of Dip It. Just the sheer insanity of it, it's fantastic.
Ok dice idea any small plant that you could put in or rice. Paint the rice whatever and put in clearish dice. Great video as all ways. Very calming in these stressful times
I've watched every dice making video you've published and this was my favorite. I don't even like Ramen! But those dice look awesome. I too expected to not like this at all, but I do.
Dice Idea: something where the additive is a bit deliberate. How about literary dice, where each one has a quoteable line from a book snipped out and inserted that someone might bother to read within the dice. The dice box could be lined with parts of pages as well. Clearly Lord of the Rings comes to mind, but that might be too “on the nose.”
WHERE DO I BUY THESE DICE??? I am simultaneously impressed by the algorithm for gifting me such quality content and absolutely distraught that I'll never have the time, resources, or patience to make my own dice like this. Someone please mass produced ramen dice, lol.
The clinking in the bowl? Purrrrrrfect. Would you share with us the secret of how to make a pretty looking marble dice? (either imitation of marble, or the "one colour with streaks in it" marble, because i've just learned that marble imitation dice exist and they are pretty rad too.)
What a beautiful monstrosity. and the ramen bowl at the end was just ..chef’s kiss.. also now that I think of it, could the noodles be like painted or used in a differently colored resin to make like mind flaunt tentacle dice, or like brain dice? Food for thought…
Revisiting resin dyeing experiments could be fun to see what else you come up with; like tea leaves, charcoal, powdered/crushed gemstones, glow stick fluid, seasoning/cooking oils (ex: sesame, olive), coffee, graphite, stage blood, essential oils, and so on.
