Omg, Morena Baccarin! Just seeing her face fills me with Firefly love everytime. My heart almost couldn't handle Felicia and Morena being in the same frame together.
Yeah, we had Cassowarys ("Purse Bird") at the zoo I used to work at. You were wise to be wary. We ranked them up with (and above quite a few) of our big cats for most dangerous animal in the zoo. Got a hell of a kick - sometimes using both feet - with a dagger-like talon that can pretty well disembowel a human and a completely crazy-ass temper.
Felicia with the koala might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. And also, Morena Baccarin! And dingoes ate my babies (I'm really hoping that was a Buffy reference). SO MANY NERD FEELS.
Well done! I visited Australia way back in 1984, and this was just like being there again. I also got to hold a koala (at the "zoo" in Melbourne) and it's pretty awesome. Thanks so much for sharing your trip.
I wish I was back in Australia. Was there for 3 weeks several years ago and I loved it!! I didn't want to come home. Glad you have a great time Felicia. =)
I'm sure I'd like to visit Australia, the wildlife and landscape looks so breath-taking. All these wonderful mammals that have evolved this way because of being separated on a huge island for millions of years. Those koalas are so cute :-)
Wanted so much to go to Australia for our honey moon, but husband did research on all the deadly critters, and we ended up on NZ instead. Which was a wonderful trip and we had a great time, newly weds... Maybe we will be able to do another long trip in the future.
Meeting you at the Brisbane Supanova was one of the highlights of my year. We had a picture taken together, and when i had it developed my eyes were closed....I suppose thats some kind of Equivalent Exchange. Keep being so awesome!
The koala sanctuary is in Brisbane, it's near Mt Ommaney. I saw her at supernova brisbane and was really excited to find myself standing about 5 feet from her. Then she posed for the official photographer next to a supernova sign, and I was able to grab a quick shot too. It turned out really well. Oh, and she is just as adorable irl.
I hope im not seeing things and that was Morena Baccarin (Orisi from Stargate) in the bloody background! omg Felicia why didnt you mention she was with you! *Le Gasp*
"Yah, you know, I just got to go to Australia with Morena Baccarin. No biggie" is what I'm sure is going through your head while on this trip, Felicia.
dingoes ate my babies was parodied in a Seinfeld episode that Elaine kept saying over & over at a party. Original reference is from a line in a Meryl Streep movie A Cry in the Dark “A dingo took my baby!”
Just for something people might not know.... in Australia Flog can have two meanings ...one means to steal... the other means to whip a criminals back. (but the second one is used more in the way of flogging/flogged depending on tense)
Well, the dingo thing is a buffy reference, but buffy is referencing the Chamberlain baby that was taken in the 80s. So it's both. And yes, dingoes will take babies or small children. There were several attacks on Fraser island (north of brisbane) about 5 years ago, before they built a big fence to keep them away from tourist camp grounds.
Cool video Felicia. I hope you had a wonderful time here in the land down under. Have a safe trip back to the states. Also I liked the epic Hide A Firefly Cast Member In Your Video, Without Mentioning They Were With You Gag. I'm sure you both had a blast.
Supanova was so much fun. Got a picture signed by Felicia and she spelled my name wrong. Still the most awesome day of my LIFE. Thank you very much for coming to visit. Glad you enjoyed yourself and that the Koala didn't pee on you, they like doing that.
I'm relieved to know no one was attacked by a Huntsman Spider whilst in Oz. Also, Felicia must be some kind of badass...when my dad was in Australia and held a koala, they made him wear some kind of vest thing so its claws wouldn't sink into his flesh.
I have never, ever, felt so excited about someone else holding such an adorable koala but omg Felicia. I'm a 20 year old male and I was practically crying at the cuteness. Oh. My. Goodness. I want to hold a koala... :'{
I was standing beside her assistant for the 501st shoot, the lightsaber Felicia had was my friend Kittys AKA Darth Revan.. Felicia survived taking a Sith Lord's light saber.
The flag's not backward. The "Big Star" belongs by the pole. When you blow any flag to the left it will appear in reverse form to the right(How most flags are taught to us) because the threads are sewn all the way through the fabric
She was there. They both were there for SuperNova as you noted is a convention earlier in the clip. They could have been at the "zoo" together for all that we know. (They are both Whedonite actors.)
Very nice! I lived in Australia for 9 months and got to do things like: hand feed a dingo, pet a wild wombat, get a wild kookaburra to sit on my hand! as well as some of what you did. (By the way, the way to make a kookaburra laugh is to make their laughing sounds at them. Then they'll laugh back! Although it can be a little embarrassing to try that in public. ;))
The only time ive heard budgy smugglers being used was to describe that one item of clothing tony abbott wore in some swimming competition. Forgot what he was trying to prove but I remember him burning the budgy smugglers afterwards.
5:14 - Within this scene, we get to see one of the most warm, cuddly, and adorable creatures to ever the walk the Earth. Oh, and there's also a koala. *ba-dum-tsssh*
Was amazing to see you Down Under Felicia. Was even better to meet you. I was the Captain America cosplayer on the Sunday in Adelaide. My stepdaughter was in the Ironman armour :D.
I know, but as I've said before, since there was a band on Buffy called "dingoes ate my baby"and Felicia worked on Buffy, I figured it might have been a Buffy reference.
But there was also a a band in Buffy called "dingoes ate my baby", and since Felicia worked on Buffy, I figured it might have been a reference to that.
I'm from Tas, and whilst it's not a common saying, it is something I have heard said (and said myself) on occasion, e.g. if someone pulls off something flukey, you would say "that was an arsey move!"
The thing about Vegemite is that is just a copy of the original yeast extract Marmite. Did you know that Vegimite and Marmite are made from yeast extract that is a by-product of beer brewing. I'm told the Swiss Cenovis and the German Vitam-R are also very similar just slightly different formulas in each.
Omg, Morena Baccarin! Just seeing her face fills me with Firefly love everytime. My heart almost couldn't handle Felicia and Morena being in the same frame together.
Epic Morena Baccarin cameo is epic.
Oh my god Morena Baccarin was in the background!!
It is Morena! She was also at Supanova!
Morena Baccarin from Firefly!!
My favourite thing about this video is the confused look on the woman's face behind her when she is talking about the peacock thing matching her purse
Katie Husband Thats not just any woman, thats Morena Baccarin, otherwise known to many as Inara Serra from the best tv show to ever air, "Firefly"
OMG it is as well, I didn't even clock that
+Katie Husband LOL..that "Peacock thing" is a cassowary. :)
is that Morena Baccarin from Homeland? at 2:40 and why is she creepin....
She's from both.
2:39 Morena Baccarin cameo! She's even beautiful when she appears underwhelmed!
best Flog ever! Haha I shed a tear ( cuteness overload) for Felicia when she had the koala in her arms.
It's coming back in Jan!
Best episode of the flog ever. It is really awesome to see things you are used to through fresh eyes.
Yes.
Yes it's really Morena behind Felicia a few times, they were both out for the same two Supanova conventions (Brisbane and Adelaide).

yup awesome love all the firefly people where ever they are
zoo + Felicia Day + Inara (Morena Baccarin) + the awesome soundtrack = the first time in my life I have found a zoo to be exciting
Thanks Felicia!
Well done! I visited Australia way back in 1984, and this was just like being there again. I also got to hold a koala (at the "zoo" in Melbourne) and it's pretty awesome. Thanks so much for sharing your trip.
No, Thank you Felicia! Meeting you made my day! I'm glad you had a good time!!!
XD "a dingo ate my baby." i recognize that reference.
About halfway through the video I realized I was slightly smiling for the entire time I was watching this. Your vids never fail to brighten my day. :)
Did you know you were sitting in front of Morena Baccarin? I would have geeked out so bad if I was there.
Morena was also in Aus for supanova
I love how excited she is about the animals.
I live in Tamborine Mountain and I missed her. I have never been so disappointed in myself.
I wish I was back in Australia. Was there for 3 weeks several years ago and I loved it!! I didn't want to come home. Glad you have a great time Felicia. =)
I absolutely love watching the flog, my life is sad enough, its often the highlight of my week... :)
I'm sure I'd like to visit Australia, the wildlife and landscape looks so breath-taking. All these wonderful mammals that have evolved this way because of being separated on a huge island for millions of years. Those koalas are so cute :-)
That looked like a ton of fun! I hope you had as good a time as it looked like you had. Thanks for sharing the footage!
Loved the music with the Cassowary - Ninja of the rain forest - I swear they can appear out of nowhere.
Wanted so much to go to Australia for our honey moon, but husband did research on all the deadly critters, and we ended up on NZ instead. Which was a wonderful trip and we had a great time, newly weds... Maybe we will be able to do another long trip in the future.
Good to see you are seeing some of this lovely country.
Enjoy your time here, make sure you have plenty of fun :)
Meeting you at the Brisbane Supanova was one of the highlights of my year. We had a picture taken together, and when i had it developed my eyes were closed....I suppose thats some kind of Equivalent Exchange. Keep being so awesome!
the Christmas motifs in the intro were so cute!
I love how happy she looks :)

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is in Brisbane and Mount Tamborine is on the Gold Coast, she was in Brisbane for Supanova.
Wooo, I'm the Codex at 0:32! Thanks for including me in this Felicia and the Flog team!
Bucket List Achievement: UNLOCKED!
Just for something people might not know.... in Australia Flog can have two meanings ...one means to steal... the other means to whip a criminals back. (but the second one is used more in the way of flogging/flogged depending on tense)

Morena Baccarin and Felicia Day were both guests at Supanova in Melbourne, some pics on both their twitters

How do you not acknowledge the fact that Morena Baccarin is behind you? She was behind you on the boat and with the big damn bird!
Felicia you are so wonderful. Thank you for being you. Don't ever change. You are so lovely amd awesome
So glad you had a great time in Australia. Was a nice insight into your visit.
I'm relieved to know no one was attacked by a Huntsman Spider whilst in Oz. Also, Felicia must be some kind of badass...when my dad was in Australia and held a koala, they made him wear some kind of vest thing so its claws wouldn't sink into his flesh.

Jealous! Love the adorable double thumbs.
I was standing beside her assistant for the 501st shoot, the lightsaber Felicia had was my friend Kittys AKA Darth Revan.. Felicia survived taking a Sith Lord's light saber.

I have, it generally means someone who is lucky or who pushes their lucky or gains things through chance.
Great to see Felicia down under.
With any luck she will return and Sydney will be on her list of places to visit! :)
I've heard it plenty of times, not the most common phrase ever but non the less it's been around for as long as I can remember.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it here! Come to Melbourne next time, I'll volunteer as tour guide!
The only time ive heard budgy smugglers being used was to describe that one item of clothing tony abbott wore in some swimming competition.
Forgot what he was trying to prove but I remember him burning the budgy smugglers afterwards.
Kookubarras always try to each my food when i'm eating lunch at uni. but what you really have to watch out for are the drop bears.
Felicia w/ Roos at the Zoo should be a new Geek & Sundry Show!
She looked SO happy when holding the koala. It made me feel good to see her so happy.
I know, but as I've said before, since there was a band on Buffy called "dingoes ate my baby"and Felicia worked on Buffy, I figured it might have been a Buffy reference.

Hm.. these colonists are so entertaining, mmyes, yes. Butler, more tea please.
I'm glade to see you had an enjoyable trip Down Under.
So much cuteness!
02:47 Omg its Inara. . . MINDBLOW!
That was more entertaining than I thought it would be :-) Koalas are so darn cute!! I had no idea that they slept so much...
holy crap! I had to watch it again because I thought she doesn't but she totally does!
The thing about kookaburras is there always seem to be one there to laugh when you fall over. That was definitely true for my old high school.
love how ms. Baccarin just randomly pops up in the background at the front end of the video.
Now that is one great place to visit. Definitely on my ''Must visit One day '' list , right new to New Zeland - Hobbiton.. !
I have to say, this is the best flog so far
Aww man. I live in Denmark and i was 2 weeks away from meeting Felicia in australia. That would have been so awesome!
Love the Holiday intro for the Flog!
Watched this ages ago and only knew Felicia. Just watched it and recognized Caiti from Roosterteeth stuff. I feel as though I've grown somehow.
I want a Koala hug. Its adorable.
They have really sharp claws, like talons.
i know, i've been hugged before, i just want another
"i'm not a vegetable, i'm a fungi"
I'm from Tas, and whilst it's not a common saying, it is something I have heard said (and said myself) on occasion, e.g. if someone pulls off something flukey, you would say "that was an arsey move!"
Awesome... It looks like you had so much fun. Thank you for being awesome enough to share your fun with us :o)
I'm now in Australia because of this video, and I'm enjoying my holiday
I love that you came down to Australia, and that you enjoyed it so much. You + Koala = Gorgeous + Koala.
They must be there together, it can't be a coincidence that she is there twice in different clips
This is my favorite vlog to watch!
G'day, I am an Aussie (not assy lol) and wish I'd gone to Supernova! Glad you liked it here :) Come back soon!
OHMYGOD IT'S INARA! IT'S ACTUALLY INARA! SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL EVEN WITH SHORT HAIR AND LESS MAKEUP! OHGOD I WANT TO CRY! LET ME HUG YOU! I LOVE YOU!
Why is morena from homeland in this vlog at 2:40? Did felicia do a project with her? That just seemed so random to me.
Best Flog in a while, that I've seen anyway.
loved learning the aussie words. definitely never heard of any of them except for gdday. The koala's eeeeh soo cute!
Great Flog btw. :) It was a good idea to video and share what else you do when you go travelling to the conventions.
Aww, I wish I could have met you while you were here! Hope you had a great time!
Can't believe you came down under. Spewing I missed you. Hope you had a good time.
Yeah, Morena was in Port Douglas mid November :)
