I just wanted to let you know, I had my son at 19, I’ve been a single mother his whole life. Pregnancy included. When I first heard this song I played it for him and now it is apart of our bedtime routine for about 2 years. Thank you for this, I’ll forever be grateful.
Honestly, I don't think it's necessarily a simplistic artist vs artist comparison like you're implying. For one thing, Benjamin writes the music he preforms. Most of the artists you're talking about, don't. That's why most of the more popular music sounds alike. It's written by... like 3 different people. And that's the music for about... 40+ popular artists. These people pump out songs all day cuz that's their job, not that they aren't good at it but... it's their job to make music for the masses to bring in money, not something interesting, emotional and thought provoking.
